Here’s yer weekly top ten Steam best-sellers. That being what most tore up the charts last week. Is DOOM still king? What happens to Total Warhammer now it’s actually released? And what in the name of all that’s holy is YouTubers Life? … [visit site to read more]

Yes, yes the Blood & Wine expansion sounds great, but here’s the really exciting thing coming to The Witcher 3 [official site] next week: a magical book which tells Geralt where to find every Gwent card. A treasure worth more than any gem! Oh, yeah, and I guess patch 1.20 will improve the interface and add an option to enable difficulty upscaling if folks want a tougher time but LOOK magical Gwent book is what matters.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt [official site] is one of the best RPGs ever made, and the first DLC, Hearts of Stone, certainly didn’t let the side down. Now, Geralt’s final adventure comes to an end in a terrorised land. Is it a fitting finale? Here’s Wot I Think.>

Blood and Wine, the upcoming final expansion to The Witcher 3 [official site], is due out May 31 and to get your blood pumping CD Projekt Red released this trailer showing off lots of story and dialogue. And because there’s nothing more metal than having a vampire bite your neck, CDPR went ahead and set the whole thing to a bumping alternative rock song because apparently they can just do what they want now and tone be damned.

Phew: we have nine different names in the top ten sellers on Steam last week, rather than the recent trend for various pre-orders and season passes splitting the vote excessively. Question is, has Joe/Jo Public responded as rapturously to DOOM as Ian/Iana Critic has?

Chinny-reckon! Only superhero movies and Star Wars announce sequels years in advance. Everyone else pretends nope, there’s just this one thing we’re doing right now and you’ll have to wait to find out if there’ll ever be another. And so it is that CD Projekt Red are protesting that they have no current plans for a fourth Witcher game, claiming that the upcoming Blood & Wine expansion for The Witcher 3 “is the end.”

Geralt is heading off to Toussaint on May 31st in Blood and Wine, the second and final expansion for The Witcher 3 [official site], so here’s a little tourist information video teasing what to expect. Rolling hills! Vineyards! The world’s largest mountain! A city built upon the ruins of an elven city after humans went all kill-happy! Fine wines! Monsters in the wine cellars! Everything you could want in a holiday, except one of those neckstraps which holds your wine glass while you get sloshed at the tasting.

“THE LAND OF WINE IS DRENCHED IN BLOOD” shout CD Projekt RED as they announce that the second The Witcher 3 [official site] expansion, named Blood and Wine, will launch on May 31st. Yeah, you like to think you’d stick to white wine or clear spirits to be safe but man, stop being such a baby: just drink that blooded wine; we’re all doing it. Blood and Wine will jaunt off to the realm of Toussaint, a vast new area to explore with plenty of quests and all that. Have a peek in this new short trailer:

Nvidia have unveiled their next top-end GPU, the GeForce GTX 1080, which they say can draw lots of really nice pictures really fast. Look, I’m sure Jeremy and his Week in Tech will have more to say about that soon, but what’s interesting to me is the software they announced alongside it. Nvidia Ansel will let people take fancier screenshots, pausing the action to rearrange the camera, apply effects, take ultra-high-res snaps, make 360-degree panoramas compatible with VR goggles, and so on. Support for Ansel is coming to Nvidia GPUs for games including The Witcher 3, The Witness, and No Man’s Sky, and it’ll work on many cards older than the 1080 too.
