• We are graduating many Windows improvements we have been testing in the Steam tech-test branch!
• The previous Steam Tech-Test beta branch will become the default version of Brawlhalla. This version fully supports 64-bit architecture.
• There will be a new Steam Windows 32-bit branch created called 32bit-windows. This is what used to be the default version of Steam. If you are on a 32-bit OS or have problems with the 64-bit client you should switch to this branch.
• These improvements have already been released on macOS, so Mac players should continue to use the default branch.

• The -framefix parameter to improve 64-bit frame rates is now the default on Windows 64-bit. It is no longer needed and can be removed. There is now a -noframefix parameter that disables this behavior but we do not recommend its use.
• For high FPS monitors we recommend setting your refresh rate with the -setfps <FRAME RATE> parameter, ex: -setfps 144. Going above your monitor's refresh rate should only be done after experimentation with your PC since some PCs will see a performance decrease.
• We have renamed the -framefixunbounded parameter to -triplebuffer. We recommend using -triplebuffer only after experimentation since some PCs will see a performance decrease while using it.
• We are deprecating the -unlockfps parameter and we may remove it in a future release. It is identical to calling "-setfps 1000" and using it can cause performance problems on some PCs.

If you’re new to Seasons, here’s some information you should know. You’re going to have a soft Elo reset and will also receive “Glory”, a currency that can only be earned by playing Ranked games. You can use it in the Ranked section of Malhalla to get special items to show your dedication to your favorite Legend. We hope you enjoy your rewards and enjoy the New Season!


Soft Elo Reset is based on your current Elo at the end of the season.

1v1 and 2v2 Personal Rating

• Under 1400: New Elo = Old Elo
• Over 1400: New Elo = 1400 + (Old Elo – 1400) / (3 – (3000 – Old Elo) / 800)

2v2 Team and Legend Rating

• 2v2 Team & Legend Ratings have been brought closer to 750.
• Under 2000: Elo = (Elo + 375) / 1.5
• Over 2000, we aggressively brought you back down as a way of resetting the top tiers. Diamond level players will be reset to high gold or low platinum.

Glory earned is based on a combination of your Highest Peak Rating (highest 1v1, 2v2, team, or Legend rating/Elo) and total Wins. This was designed in order to reward both skill and dedication for those who pursue Glory.

You gain 20 Glory per win up to 150 wins, which gets you 3000 Glory. After 150 wins, each subsequent win gives you slightly less.

Note: There is a minimum requirement of 10 games played to be eligible for Glory based on your rating.

If you placed in Gold or better in your best rating, you are given a ranked border that people will see in the match preview screen. There are Ranked borders for Gold, Platinum, and Diamond tiers. These will last for one season and will be updated again after the new season comes to a close.Your border from any previous season does not carry over or have any impact on your current border reward.


Ranked Avatars include prestigious versions for those who’ve placed in high ranks during previous seasons. For example, if you placed in Platinum last season and Gold this season, you’ll receive the upgraded versions of the Competitor’s Badge and Gold Emblem. You will still have your original Platinum Emblem avatar from previous seasons.

You must play a minimum of 10 games to receive ranked avatars / borders at ANY rank.

• Competitor’s Badge: Awarded to anyone who plays 10 Ranked Games or more.
• Gold Emblem: Awarded to players who finish at Gold or above.
• Platinum Emblem: Awarded to players who finish at Platinum or above.
• Diamond Emblem: Awarded to players who finish at Diamond.
• Upgraded versions of Ranked Avatars are awarded to those who have earned the same Avatar in any previous seasons.

For players who have reached the 5th Tier of an avatar by reaching a certain rank or higher for five total seasons: the 5th Tier of that avatar will stay in your inventory permanently! Congratulations on your achievements!

The 6th Tier Avatar, for those who have reached a certain rank or higher for six total seasons, will take on a brand new look! These avatars will grow more and more prestigious with each subsequent seasonal repeat up to Tier 10, at which point the Tier 10 avatar will remain in your inventory permanently.

In short, every 5 Tiers of avatars, you’ll keep the most awesome, most decked out version permanently, and then start work on a new version for subsequent tiers for 6-10, 11-15, and so on.


Beyond glory there is immortality! Check out new Skyforged and Goldforged Colors for Imugi alongside the full gallery of purchasable rewards in Mallhalla under the “Ranked” tab.

Spend your hard-earned Glory on those or other Skyforged Colors, Weapons, Nameplates, and Emotes. Skyforged Colors are only usable on Legends that have reached level 5 or greater.

Players can also purchase the Goldforged Colors, Weapons, Nameplates, and Emotes with Glory. Goldforged requires the Skyforged version of that item to have already been purchased. Show your strength with these exclusive Ranked items!


Players beginning their Ranked climb have 10 placement matches to better determine their skill level and starting Elo.

Each season, for Ranked 1v1 and Ranked 2v2, your first 10 matches will serve as placement matches that will have a greater effect on your rating than normal games. Your rating will be hidden until after you have completed your placement matches for that queue.


Valhallan Rank will open on October 16th at 5am ET/9am GMT. To become Valhallan, players must be Ranked in Diamond, have at least 100 wins during the Ranked season, and attain a rating among the top players in their region.

Each region has a limited number of Valhallan positions:

• US-E / EU – Top 150
• SA – Top 100
• SEA / US-W – Top 50
• AUS / JPN – Top 25
• SAF – Top 15
• ME – Top 25

These numbers are based on each region’s population and will be considered for adjustment on a seasonal basis.


After ranking up, players will immediately receive the Valhallan Avatar, Loading Frame, and Season Title Reward.


Unlike other Ranked Loading Frames, the Valhallan Loading Frame can only be used while the player is currently in the Valhallan rank. Players are granted it immediately upon achieving Valhallan, and if they are pushed out of Valhallan rank, the Loading Frame will be revoked when the daily reset occurs (9am UTC/5am ET/2am PT).


Players are awarded a Title immediately upon achieving Valhallan. Each season will have a unique Valhallan Title Reward. The Title is never revoked, regardless of rank.


Instead of an Avatar that upgrades at the end of each season, the Valhallan Avatar is awarded immediately upon achieving Valhallan.

The Valhallan Avatar has two states: active and inactive. The active Avatar is rewarded immediately upon achieving the Valhallan rank but can be downgraded to the inactive “Fallen” state if players fall out of Valhallan rank when the daily reset occurs.

To reactivate the Avatar, players need to reach the Valhallan rank again. Players will retain ownership of the Avatar between seasons, but it will be in the “Fallen” state at the start of every season.

Go for the Glory in Ranked 2v2 Oddbrawl! Hold the flaming skull to score points for your 2 player team. Players can earn more points by landing attacks with the Oddball. The team to reach 100 points first wins!

• Mordex – Wielding his Gauntlets and Scythe, this lycanthrope steps into battle!
• Ezio – The reward for a life well lived is eternity in Valhalla. Wielding his Auditore Blade and the Apple of Eden, Ezio is ready to use his assassin’s skills on any rambunctious opponents that stand in his way.
• Mirage – An occultist, martial artist, and spy, this agent uses the powers of magic and time-travel along with her Scythe and Spear to take down her foes.
• Ember – This quick and dexterous elf does battle in Valhalla with Bow, Katars and her two companions: a wolf named Ash and her raven named Yarra.

Mega Man is ready to brawl in Valhalla! He's got his Mega Buster, some new Rush Battle Boots, and Signature Attacks that feature abilities like the Metal Blade. With him comes an iconic KO Effect, a Beat Sidekick, the Rush Rocket Lance, 2 new Avatars, and some Emoji Skins featuring characters like Dr. Wily, Proto Man, and Roll. This balance pass contains further adjustments for our newest Legends, and some improvements for key Signatures on older Legends, as it brings us into the balance lock for the World Championship.

Ada's Neutral Blasters now has significantly greater threat coverage along the blasts, as well as significantly improved setup consistency leading into the final blast. We have also significantly increased the maximum Force of Ada's Down Blasters to better match its overall risk and total commitment time.

• Neutral Blasters: Greatly increased threat coverage towards the user for the grounded and aerial blasts; Improved setup logic for the grounded blasts; Slightly decreased maximum horizontal travel during the blasts for greater consistency into the final blast.
• Down Blasters: Increased Force from a range of 55~30 Fixed/45~20 Variable to a range of 60~30 Fixed/52~20 Variable.

Diana's Down Blasters now has less Minimum Charge time for more reliable use in the neutral game and as a punish option. This Signature also has less Recover time on miss to help offset its lengthy total commitment.

• Down Blasters: Decreased Minimum Charge time from 11 to 9; Decreased total Recover time on miss from 21 to 19.

We have decreased the Minimum Charge time of Ember's Neutral Katars for more responsive use as an anti-air attack. We have also decreased this Signature's Recover time to help offset its lengthy total commitment.

• Neutral Katars: Decreased Minimum Charge time from 7 to 6; Decreased total Recover time from 20 to 18.

Imugi's Side Greatsword now has greater Recover time to allow a wider opportunity to retaliate against this Signature. It also has less vertical threat coverage near the end of the Hit Window to allow for easier escapes and approaches. Imugi's Down Greatsword now has greater Minimum Charge time to allow a wider opportunity to evade or interrupt this versatile Signature. We have increased the Time to Hit of the initial strike of Imugi's Side Axe to better match its threat coverage and bring it in line with other similar attacks.

• Side Greatsword: Increased total Recover time from 24 to 26; Decreased maximum vertical threat coverage at the end of the Hit Window.
• Down Greatsword: Increased Minimum Charge time from 10 to 12.
• Side Axe: Increased Time to Hit of the first swing from 15 to 17.

Sir Roland's Neutral Rocket Lance now has less Recover time to help offset its lengthy total commitment.

• Neutral Rocket Lance: Decreased total Recover time from 17 to 14.

We have adjusted the Hurtbox of Vivi's Neutral Battle Boots to keep it from evading over low grounded attacks and gadgets. We have also increased the Recover time of Vivi's Down Battles Boots to grant an even wider opportunity to line up a punish after evading or maneuvering around this attack.

• Neutral Battle Boots: Lowered Hurtbox to not evade certain low grounded attacks.
• Down Boots: Increased total Recover time from 20 to 22.

Wu Shang's Neutral Spear now has less Force to better match its utility and relatively wide threat coverage.

• Neutral Spear: Decreased Force from 70 Fixed/52 Variable to 60 Fixed/50 Variable.

Prove your magical abilities in this 3 minute, 4 player Free-for-All match! Withstand the dangerous, random conditions determined by Hoshi's mischievous dice roll. KO your opponents to earn 2 points. Lose 1 point for being KO'd. Score the most points to win!

Beyond Glory there is immortality… or at least there are Ranked Rewards that will last a lifetime! On October 2nd, a new Ranked climb begins! Two weeks later on October 16th the Valhallan ranks will open up! Full details will be revealed the day of the reset, but as a preview, this season’s Ranked Queue rotation will include the following modes:

• Fixed a bug where players’ names in couch party are always grayed out after a couch party game.
• Fixed a bug where the Dice and Destruction Game Mode icon wasn’t displaying in the Public Games Browser.
• Fixed a bug where the Training Settings menu wasn’t properly refreshing when opening it in Training Mode.
• Fixed a visual bug where Lucien's and Azoth's splash art icons were not rendering properly on console.

• Fixed a bug where the gadget selection would not properly reset after exiting an old Custom Game Lobby and trying to create a new one.

• Fixed a bug where a Legends’ legs would disappear in some Katars throw animations.
• Fixed a bug where players with the “Pet the Sidekick” Emote equipped as a Victory/certain Sidekicks’ heads would disappear in the post-match victory/defeat screen.
• Fixed several visual bugs that were causing Fallen Prince Teros Tier 3 to not appear correctly on Consoles.

• Fixed a visual bug where the proper animation for dropping through a soft platform wasn’t playing when players dropped through the angled soft platform on “The Fangwild” Map.
• Fixed a bug where players would automatically dash upon exiting a bubble.
• Fixed a bug where using the Sidekick Summoner Horn on Starlight Falls would sometimes spawn your Weapon inside a platform.
• Fixed several bugs that caused players who were trapped in a Bubble Bomb’s Bubble while being KO'd in Buddy or Street Brawl would keep them trapped in the bubble for the rest of the game.

• Updated the design for the Points Numbers in-game!
• Adjusted Blasters positioning in the weapon picker window to better display asymmetrical Blasters skins.

• Introducing an all new “Mayhem” Map set for those who like to go all-out! Including Maps such as Crumbling Chasm, Starlight Falls, Siege of Lions, and more.
• Steam now fully supports the use of PS5 controllers!
• “Climb” and “Showdown” are now listed as selectable Maps instead of individual Game Modes. This allows for all-new combinations between these and other Game Modes!
• Fixed an issue wh`ere the “Rocket Lance Walk Off” pre-challenge demonstration was not playing correctly.

• Added hit effects to all of Thea’s Signature attacks and Tezca’s Down Boots Signature attack.

• Greatly improved consistency of landing attacks on bubbled players using Signature attacks, either from the Bubble Bomb Gadget or in Game Modes such as Bubble Tag.
• We’ve improved Starlight Falls spawn points to limit players getting automatically KO-ed at spawn.

• Updated the French translation for "Blasters".
• Fixed a Brazilian Portuguese mistranslation of the "Spear or Sword KOs" Daily Mission.
• Fixed mistranslations of the "Masked Bandit's Watch" Avatar in Brazilian Portuguese, Latin-American Spanish, and European Spanish.
• Fixed the Brazilian Portuguese translation of the "Headmaster Fait" Skin.

The free-to-play Legend rotation for this week features: Barraza, Kaya, Thatch, Xull, Tezca, Mako, Koji, Scarlet, and Fait.

• Xull – With legendary physical strength, this Axe and Cannon wielding Orc Warlord is ready to challenge everyone and everything in Valhalla!
• Tezca – The greatest luchador in the world who also became an ancient god. Tezca makes his own rules in the ring with his Gauntlets & Battle Boots!
• Mako – The ultimate apex predator from The Sea, Mako, with her Greatsword and Katars, aims to make fish meat out of her opponents in the Grand Tournament.
• Koji – Armed with his ancestral katana, Koji slices his way through the battlefield with Sword and Bow!
• Scarlet – A former women’s boxing champion from England and head of the Royal Airship Navy, Scarlet used her ingenuity and knowledge of steam powered machines to build her own Rocket Lance and Hammer to take into battle.
• Fait – Speaking to the stars and using glimpses of the future, Fait battles for good with her Scythe and Orb!
