This brand new update brings the newest cosmetic items to Mallhalla, including for the first time ever new Emoji Skins! These are alternate Skins for Emojis that feature different Legends. The Experimental Queue's map set has been updated as a preview of the new Tournament map set that will go live after the Mid-Season Championship. This proposed map set is also available in Custom Lobbies for Stock game modes, labeled as TournamentEXP in the Game Rules settings. We are aiming for a single map set for 1v1 and 2v2 tournaments, so be sure to give both modes a try in Custom Lobbies.

• This graduated feature will help players reduce unintended instances of Directional Gravity Cancels, while helping new players learn the timing of performing a Gravity Cancel.

We’ve added condensed Weapon Spawn locations, adjusted Dodge Cooldowns, and reduced Wall Slip to Test Features. We have condensed the locations of weapon spawns on maps in the Experimental Queue, bringing them lower to the ground and closer to center stage. This is intended to make stage control more valuable during a game, with fewer weapon spawns being in reach near walls or far above stage.

• Condensed item spawns to be closer to the center of the map and platforms.
• Effects the following maps:
  
  • Miami Dome, Small Brawlhaven, Twilight Grove, Small Kings Pass, Small Thundergard Stadium, Small Blackguard Keep, Small Enigma, Small Mammoth Fortress, Small Great Hall, Shipwreck Falls, Small Fangwild, Plains of Passage, Apocalypse, Small Galvan Prime, Demon Island, Crystal Temple, Spirit Realm, and Small Turtles' Lair.

Many Signatures can use their significant animation time to stall off-stage for too long with a Gravity Cancel, so we are testing a feature that aims to level the playing field for most Signatures.

• When performing a Gravity Cancel, the dodge cooldown now begins after the attack has finished, rather than after the canceled dodge was expected to finish.
  
• We have changed the way Chase Dodge Forgiveness works in the background to allow for future testing, but for now it should feel identical to the current iteration. Look forward to further updates in the next patch.

To further increase the power of stage control, we are testing a stricter version of the Wall Slip mechanic. Wall Slip will now trigger when a maximum of 9 jumps and/or Recovery attacks are performed without hitting or being hit by another player, instead of the normal value of 15. This maximum value is constant and does not change based on the number of times Wall Slip warnings have been triggered.

• Reducing available air actions (jumps and Recovery attacks) from 15 to 9 before Wall Slip triggers.

• The Scoreboard screen now shows when players have left the Lobby. A player's Avatar, Name, Title Reward, and Clan will darken after they leave. In Custom Lobbies, it only darkens if they fully back out of the Lobby (not just exiting the Scoreboard screen).
  
• Hugin Skins now display the Legend name as Hugin instead of Munin.

Join the final battle as Battle Pass Season 5 enters its final week! Unlock all 85 tiers worth of rewards unlockable by playing Brawlhalla and completing missions.

Play the final set of Weekly missions, including “Win matches in under 150 seconds,” and “Get KO’s with different types of Gravity-canceled Signatures.” Weekly Missions are available for all Brawlhalla players to earn Gems and unlock rewards. The Galactic War Battle Pass also features:

If you’re new to Seasons, here’s some information you should know. At the beginning of every new season you have a soft Elo reset and receive Glory, the currency you earn by playing Ranked. You can use it in the Ranked section of Malhalla to get special Colors, Weapon Skins, Emotes, and Nameplates to show your dedication to your favorite Legend. We hope you enjoy your rewards and enjoy the New Season!


Soft Elo Reset is based on your current Elo at the end of the season.

1v1 and 2v2 Personal Rating

• Under 1400: New Elo = Old Elo
  
• Over 1400: New Elo = 1400 + (Old Elo – 1400) / (3 – (3000 – Old Elo) / 800)
  
• 2v2 Team and Legend Rating

2v2 Team & Legend Ratings have been brought closer to 750.

• Under 2000: Elo = (Elo + 375) / 1.5
  
• Over 2000, we aggressively brought you back down as a way of resetting the top tiers. Diamond level players will be reset to high gold or low platinum.

Glory earned is based on a combination of your Highest Peak Rating (highest 1v1, 2v2, team, or Legend rating/Elo) and total Wins. This was designed in order to reward both skill and dedication for those who pursue Glory.

You gain 20 Glory per win up to 150 wins, which gets you 3000 Glory. After 150 wins, each subsequent win gives you slightly less.

Note: There is a minimum requirement of 10 games played to be eligible for Glory based on your rating. For help estimating your Glory Gained or New Elo after the reset go to: https://www.brawlhalla.com/glory-calculator/



If you placed in Gold, Platinum, or Diamond in your best rating, you are given a ranked border that people will see in the match preview screen. These will last for one season and will be updated again after the new season comes to a close.

Your border from any previous season does not carry over or have any impact on your current border reward.


Ranked Avatars include prestigious versions for those who’ve placed in high ranks during previous seasons. For example, if you placed in Platinum last season and Gold this season, you’ll receive the upgraded versions of the Competitor’s Badge and Gold Emblem. You will still have your original Platinum Emblem avatar from previous seasons.

You must play a minimum of 10 games to receive ranked avatars / borders at ANY rank.

• Competitor’s Badge: Awarded to anyone who plays 10 Ranked Games or more.
  
• Gold Emblem: Awarded to players who finish at Gold or above.
  
• Platinum Emblem: Awarded to players who finish at Platinum or above.
  
• Diamond Emblem: Awarded to players who finish at Diamond.
  
• Upgraded versions of Ranked Avatars are awarded to those who have earned the same Avatar in any previous season.

For players who have reached the 5th Tier of an avatar by reaching a certain rank or higher for five total seasons: the 5th Tier of that avatar will stay in your inventory permanently! Congratulations on your achievements!

The 6th Tier Avatar, for those who have reached a certain rank or higher for six total seasons, will take on a brand new look! These avatars will grow more and more prestigious with each subsequent seasonal repeat up to Tier 10, at which point the Tier 10 avatar will remain in your inventory permanently.

In short, every 5 Tiers of avatars, you’ll keep the most awesome, most decked out version permanently, and then start work on a new version for subsequent tiers for 6-10, 11-15, and so on.


Beyond glory there is immortality! In Mallhalla, under the “Ranked” tab, players may spend their hard-earned Glory to purchase Skyforged Colors, Weapons, Nameplates, Emotes, and Sidekicks. Skyforged Colors are only usable on Legends that have reached level 5 or greater.

Players can also purchase Goldforged items, which require the purchase of the Skyforged version of the same item. Show your strength with these exclusive Ranked items!

  • Open a Custom or Offline lobby.
    
  • Go to Game Settings, and under "Lobby" there will be a new "Allow Handicaps" option.
    
  • After confirming these changes, bubbles will appear below each player showing which handicaps are affecting them.
    
  • Players can adjust handicaps by going to the party menu (“V” key or “X” button), or with a new hotkey ("[" key or left bumper).
    
  • The party leader can adjust handicaps for all players -- but each client can also adjust their own handicaps as well.

Thanks to your feedback, the Throw Clash test feature has been graduated. Now your attacks that strike an opponent won’t trade or be interrupted by your target’s recently thrown weapon.

• Throw Clashes are now live in all queues!

This patch targets the mobility of several overperforming weapons, as well as reducing the threat coverage on some of their key attacks. We have also increased the reward or decreased the risk for pivotal attacks on a few underperforming weapons. Several underperforming Legends have also received various improvements to their Signatures for either reduced risk or increased reward.



The previous adjustments to the Axe's aerial kit reduced the acceleration that was allowed during the attacks, reducing the ability to change directions, slow down, or speed up after the attack was initiated. This patch further decreases the allowed acceleration, but also reduces the maximum travel speed allowed during the Neutral Air, Side Air, and Down Air. We have also reduced the threat coverage of the Neutral Light and threat coverage near the user for the Side Air, making it easier to dodge through or maneuver around these attacks.

• Axe Neutral Light: Slightly decreased maximum horizontal and vertical threat coverage.
  
• Axe Neutral Air: Decreased maximum travel speed allowed during the attack; Slightly decreased acceleration allowed during the attack.
  
• Axe Side Air: Decreased threat coverage near the user; Decreased maximum travel speed allowed during the attack; Slightly decreased acceleration allowed during the attack.
  
• Axe Down Air: Decreased maximum travel speed allowed during the attack; Slightly decreased acceleration allowed during the attack.

Blasters Side Air has received an increase in Variable Force for better knockout potential, as this weapon could often struggle to finish stocks even when an opponent was heavily damaged. The Down Air now has a more vertical angle of knockback, affording new string routes at most damage ranges and combos at high damage ranges, while also improving the consistency of certain early gravity cancel options.

• Blasters Side Air: Increased Force from 49 Fixed/42 Variable to 49 Fixed/44 Variable.
  
• Blasters Down Air: Angle of knockback is now more vertical.

In a similar fashion to the Axe kit, while the previous adjustments reduced the acceleration that was allowed during certain Hammer aerial attacks, we have also decreased the maximum travel speed allowed during the Hammer Neutral Air this time around. The Hammer Side Air has also received a similar reduction to threat coverage near the user, making it easier to dodge through or maneuver behind this attack.

• Hammer Neutral Air: Decreased maximum travel speed allowed during the attack.
  
• Hammer Side Air: Reduced threat coverage near the user.

The Katar Recovery attack would often struggle to score knockouts until very high damage ranges, so we have increased the Force to better fit its diagonal knockback angle.

• Katars Recovery: Increased Force from 72 Fixed/48 Variable to 72 Fixed/50 Variable.

As one of the Spear's main approach tools and starter attacks, we have decreased the Recover time on miss to bring the risk in line with its total duration and telegraphed movement.

• Spear Side Light: Decreased Recover time on miss from 3 Fixed/10 Variable to 1 Fixed/10 Variable.

The Sword's ground kit can rotate sizable threat coverage very quickly compared to other weapons, so we have increased the Recover time on miss for the Side Light for greater punish opportunities against this mobile attack. We have also increased the Time to Hit of the Sword Neutral Light to make it easier to contest this attack in the neutral game, and to open wider dodge windows during strings that involve this attack.

• Sword Side Light: Increased Recover time on miss from 1 Fixed/21 Variable to 3 Fixed/21 Variable.
  
• Sword Neutral Light: Increased Time to Hit from 5 to 6.

Isaiah's Side Blasters now has greater Force to better fit its relative risk and lengthy total duration. We have also reduced the Minimum Charge time of Isaiah's Neutral Cannon for quicker anti-air responses.

• Isaiah Side Blasters: Increased Force from 60 Fixed/54 Variable to 65 Fixed/56 Variable.
  
• Isaiah Neutral Cannon: Decreased Minimum Charge time from 13 to 12.

Lin Fei's Side Cannon and Neutral Katars have both received increased Damage to better match their total duration and high risk nature.

• Lin Fei Side Cannon: Increased Damage from 21 to 24.
  
• Lin Fei Neutral Katars: Increased Damage from 22 to 25.

Magyar's Neutral Greatsword and Neutral Hammer now have decreased Recover time on miss for less risk on these anti-air attacks.

• Magyar Neutral Hammer: Decreased total Recover time from 28 to 23.

We have reduced the grounded Recover Time on miss for Zariel's Neutral Bow for less risk that better fits this low anti-air attack. The Down Gauntlets now has greater Force to better match its relatively low threat coverage.

• Kaya – Using her bow, spear and spirit animals, she is ready to try her luck in the Grand Tournament!
  
• Sidra – The Corsair Queen, known for her legendary and fearless raids, is prepared to fight with her Sword and Cannon!
