  • Updated localization: fixed some inconsistencies, added missing localizations.

Hi friends!

The spookiest time of the year has come to Warface! Are you ready to face the most terrifying creatures in the game? Or even become one of them… And, of course, get cool new arms that perfectly fit the occasion.

About the PvP Mode "Corruption"

A team of 16 players will join the match. A random team member will become patient zero and turn into a buffed cyborg. The cyborg will be dealing melee damage to the rest of the team, aiming to kill them and turn the dead over to the dark side. As soon as any of the "human" players die, no matter the cause, they will immediately turn into cyborgs too, gradually adding to the forces of the cyborg horde. The stand-off between cyborgs and survivors will be epic. If you've ever wondered what it would feel like to crush an EMP carrier or tear characters' flesh apart, then strap in tight and join the cyber horde!

The SED is excluded from the fun, since androids and cyborgs don't really mesh well.

The event will take place on the thematic maps Halloween Motel and Halloween Widestreet.

Devs' comment: We wanted to design a cool game mode for the players just to have fun and not care too much about the match outcome.

Cyborgs

Cyborg lines will be filled with every dead survivor. There is no way back. Cyborgs have increased HP and movement speed. They cannot wield weapons, but they can easily tear their targets apart with their hands. They can also see survivors through walls thanks to a useful wall-hack implant.

Cyborgs can die and will die a lot, so they don't get any death penalties and the mode stats in general do not count towards your personal stats.

Devs' comment: For the mode, we've added a new unique cyborg arm animation in the first person view. The special social interaction effects should also contribute to the atmosphere.

If there are no cyborgs in the match, a new patient zero will emerge. As soon as one of the survivors turns into a cyborg, the rest of the "human" team's ammo, health, armour and consumables get restored and a power-up appears on the map. If cyborgs fail in killing survivors within a certain period of time, they'll get special buffs that last until the first survivors' death.

Survivors

Survivors are living characters whose only goal is to keep breathing till the match ends. Survivors can pick up power-ups of the Juggernaut, Gunslinger and the Pyro when they appear on the map to increase their chances of survival.

Who wins?

  • Cyborgs win if all the survivors turn into cyborgs.
  • Survivors win if they remain alive until the timer runs out.

The event points gain depends on the personal performance of each player, rather than on the victory or defeat. Survivors get points for the time they remain alive after the first cyborg appears. Those who remain "human" till the end of the match, get additional points.

Cyborgs gain points for the survivors they've killed, for assisting to eliminate living characters, and for just being a cyborg. Pretty cool, right?

By completing certain actions in the game mode, players will earn special achievements.

PvE Part of the Event

You'll also take part in the event by completing Special Operations "Pripyat", "Cyber Horde" and "Black Shark". The event currency is granted only for the first successful mission completion of the day.

Event Screen

On the event screen, you'll see a progress bar with three check-points. A new check-point will unlock at the beginning of the event and at the start of the second and third week of the event.

By completing the event contracts, you'll earn event points and fill in the progress bar. Once your progress reaches a check-point, you'll get a thematic reward:

  • A Tactical Axe for 500 event points,
  • Helheim Gloves for 1,000 event points,
  • A Helheim Helmet for 2,000 event points.

Event Showcase with a Progress Bar

Just like in the summer event, "Cyberheim" offers a showcase with a reward progress bar. By using Black Market Coins, you can refresh items in the showcase. Each refresh activation adds to the progress bar. When 100% is reached, you'll get an exclusive offer to get one of four valuable items for free.

After making your choice, the other items become unavailable, the progress bar resets, and you can fill it up again and reach a new offer. The amount of offers is unlimited. The items for special offers are chosen randomly and may repeat.

What are the Event Rewards?

Among the event rewards, you'll find weapons from the new "Helheim" series including the PKM Zenit, Kalashnikov USA KHAOS, Beretta PMX and SVCh-54 as well as thematic achievements. To get the weapons, you'll need to collect special cards by purchasing them in the event showcase for Black Market Coins. The Black Market offers unique achievements, weapon charms and weapon skins.

Agent Huginn is a very skilled medic and a reliable teammate, but her fellow squadmates can’t help but somewhat fear her, and not just because of her sudden appearance. Huginn is very reserved and secretive, and her skills can appear superhuman. There are a lot of legends about her, but no one could find out who she really was.

Details

Agent Huginn appeared as if out of nowhere: when the assault squad arrived for briefing before the next mission, she was already sitting in the room. The command strictly insisted that from now on she would participate in all the risky operations. She turned out to be a very skilled medic and a reliable teammate, but her fellow squadmates can’t help but somewhat fear her, and not just because of her sudden appearance. Huginn is very reserved and secretive, and her skills can appear superhuman. There are a lot of legends about her, but no one could find out who she really was.

It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that nothing is known about Agent Huginn’s past. Her personnel file is thinner than that of some fresh recruits. The only thing known for sure is that she lost her memory while participating in one of the recent conflicts and received treatment in a private clinic, after which she returned to taking part in missions. However, there is no information about what happened before the injury and how she was injured. The agent doesn’t answer to the name indicated in her dossier – Helga Müller, preferring her codename. There is every reason to believe that her name was fabricated as a formality.

All attempts to piece together Huginn’s history were unsuccessful. Based on some indirect evidence, we can conclude that she served in the special forces of one of the Northern European countries, but there are no similar people in any database, including the most secret ones. Huginn, of course, also tried to restore her past, but her first and last attempt did not go so well. As soon as she began her search, a mysterious group of people made sure to cut her journey short and dissuaded any further attempts to find out who she was before. After this incident, she herself began to shut down all conversations about her biography, and never responded to her official name.

Agent Huginn Set

The "Raven" weapon series represents the style and nature of Agent Huginn. Equip the themed guns and let the power of ancient runes defend you in combat and instill fear into the hearts of your enemies. The weapon series includes the GForce Arms Huckleberry, the Ruger Mark IV Lite and the Jagdkommando knife.

Are you a weapon charm collector? We haven't forgotten about you! You'll find a stylish new item in the Agent Huginn set. Decorate your weapons with this exquisite accessory!

The game now features new achievements for eliminating enemies with new weapon models designed in Agent Huginn's style. Defeat your enemies with "Raven" arms and decorate your profile!

How can I get the novelties?

We've added contracts with the new content. Complete tasks to get "Raven" weapons, boxes with the Agent Huginn suit, unique achievements, a weapon charm, and other useful items.

The mysterious and folklore filled seasonal update "Spirits" is already here and offers activities that light up the chilly autumn darkness. In this article, we’ll share what activities you’ll be able to participate in during the season, and what rewards are waiting for you. Just select the section that you want to learn more about.

Battle Pass

Embrace the dark and creepy with the brand-new weapon series “Cursed” and “Bone” along with other thematic rewards that will be available through the BP progression and contracts. Moreover, now, you can get the basic BP access for 25,000 WF$ instead of 99 Kredits!

[UPD] The "Spirits" Battle Pass will be active until December 5th 2023.

More about the BP

The Battle Pass offers several types of rewards:

  • for the main progression (camos, weapon charms, permanent secondary weapons and achievements);
  • for the additional progression (BP coins);
  • for daily and class-specific contracts (a seasonal weapon box for the former, and BP coins and a cool class achievement for the latter);
  • weapons and parts in the seasonal shop line-up.

More About the Rewards

This time around, the Battle Pass is filled with a horrifying power, inside you will find the "cursed" and "Bone" weapon series, thematic charms, as well as achievements. These series may look like they spawned straight out of a horror film. But those who dare pick up these spooky weapons will soon find out that the curse only befalls their enemies. Are you willing to put them to the test?

Series "Cursed"

The "Cursed" series’ eerie design will definitely bring a chilling aura to the battlefield. Decorated with various skeletal structures, moss and strange glowing fungi, this series is the whole spooky package. In it, you’ll find the PKM Zenit, Benelli M2 SP, M1911A1 Beretta PMX, Kalashnikov USA KHAOS, SVCh-54 OTs-48K MK2, Taurus CT9 G2 and Push Daggers.

Both temporary and permanent weapon versions can be obtained with coins in the shop. Parts are sold in batches.

To get permanent weapons, you would need to consequently purchase the preceding temporary versions: the ones for 3, 5, 7, and 9 days (costing 25/50/75/125 BP coins accordingly), the permanent version costs 175 coins, making the overall price for the permanent gun 450 BP coins.

Prestige

[UPD] The "Spirits" prestige season will be active until December 5th 2023.

Prestige levels are additional levels (from the 101st to the 1000th) in the progression system that you can unlock as long as the seasonal activity is on. Progressing through the prestige levels is the same as with the regular levels: you play and gain XP for every battle. The only difference is that prestige levels require more XP and are reset each season.

Changes that took place this season:

  • the list of level rewards has been updated: it now features golden versions of IWI Galil ACE Gen II, Sentry 12, Vigilance Rifles M20 and Kel-Tec RDB-C.

Ranked Matches

[UPD] The "Spirits" Ranked Matches season will be active until December 5th 2023.

Changes that took place this season:

  • At the beginning of the season, players will now be assigned to leagues, taking into account their performance in the previous seasons. Players will be spread more evenly across the leagues, which will ensure a more balanced gameplay experience;
  • The shop now has a "New" tag;
  • New special contracts have been added, by completing them you can get the Dragon Soul Charm, a set of achievements and up to 600 parts. You’ll be able to access these contracts by a simple click of a button in the tab.
  • Even if you didn't make it to the top of the current season, players can now see their personal rating in the leaderboard;
  • The seasonal shop now offers new items, including the exclusive “Nord” gear sets.

Quick reminder: the ranked currency for the seasonal shop does not expire and will be transferred to the next season.

Friends!

PvE is a classic mode in Warface. The old SpecOps and PvEs you're familiar with, no longer provide a challenge for skilled players, and their current rewards are outdated. So, we’ve updated the system while keeping the core mechanics untouched. For now, a limited number of PvE missions and SOs with the new mechanics are available to play – it’s very important that we test out the changes and iron out the kinks. Other special operations will be available on Easy. So don’t forget to leave your feedback on our social media platforms!

PvE Rewards
Throughout the season, a line-up of special operations will be available to the players. Since the pool of available SOs got narrower, the rewards will be adjusted to match. The SpecOps Pripyat, Cyber Horde and Black Shark are available in Quick Play and Custom Rooms on all difficulties. Earth Shaker, Anubis, Icebreaker, Blackout, and Sunrise are available in Quick Play and Custom Rooms on Easy difficulty.

Note, that, by the first update, only some of the missions and special operations have been reworked in the updated PvE system. More maps will be included as we receive your feedback, test and tweak the parameters.

PvE and SO Rewards Re-adjustment
In the old system, the ratio between the rewards in regular PvE and SOs wasn’t optimal. Almost all the rewards could’ve been obtained through special operations, so it made sense to recalibrate them in order to make regular PvE a viable option to farm Crowns.

Here’s how we’ve recalculated it:
  • The maximum weekly gains became higher to compensate for a smaller pool of available PvE missions and SOs, as well as their adjusted difficulty. Throughout the season, the player can potentially earn up to 150 000 Crowns, while in the old system the sum was closer to 120 000 Crowns.
  • A player tackling PvE on Easy should be able to gain enough Crowns in a season to buy a single weapon (around 10 000 Crowns);
  • Playing PvE on Normal should give enough Crowns in a season to buy four weapons (around 40 000 Crowns);
  • A player who plays on Hard should be able to gain enough Crowns to buy out the entire base line-up in the seasonal PvE store (around 100 000 Crowns);
  • Truly hardcore players who play every PvE mission and SO on every difficulty level should be able to spend it all in the seasonal PvE store.
Check out the tables for a more detailed look at the rewards.

Those special operations, that are only available on the Easy difficulty, will provide 150 Crowns for completing them.

SO Rewards
The frequency with which the rewards for the special operations are updated has been changed. In the previous system, they reset daily. Now, you can play regular PvE daily as before and get rewards every day, while the rewards for the special operations will update once every week.

Dev comment: The Crown rewards in special operations will be updated weekly instead of daily to ease the pressure off the players who play to get the most out of the PvE rewards. “Pripyat”, “Cyber Horde”, and “Black Shark” on Hard mode are tough, let’s see what the players will say.

Will the amount of player XP and WF$ for completing PvE missions and SOs remain the same?
  • The XP and WF$ for completing the PvE missions and SOs has been readjusted. Individually, each completion will give the player more experience and currency, especially the Normal and the Hard modes.
Will the rate at which I can upgrade the weapons' mastery stay the same?
  • The rates at which the players are able to upgrade their weapons’ mastery in PvE and SpecOps has been changed. Just like with the XP and WF$, more Mastery points can be gained by playing a more difficult mode.

Difficulty Levels Update
The PvE rework also touches up on the difficulty of the available missions and special operations. The Easy mode remains relatively unchanged, while the Normal and Hard modes became more pronounced. In the Normal mode, you can still win with randomly selected players and regular gear, but the Hard mode is now a true test of one’s skill and their ability to make an efficient team. Because it’s a multiple step process, further PvE missions and SOs will be available later as we unroll the changes to their difficulty as well.

As mentioned above, the reworked missions and special operations offer better rewards! The Normal mode will provide more XP, WF$, PvE points, and Crowns, and beating the Hard mode will reward the team even better.

Resurrection Coins and Friendly Fire
One of the ways to up the difficulty of a mission is limiting the use of resurrection coins and allowing friendly fire. This is what it looks like in the reworked PvE system:

Seasons and Grades
One of the major changes in the new PvE is seasonality – similar to that in RM and Battle Passes. Now, the players can complete PvE missions and special operations and get Crowns and a corresponding amount of PvE points. As you already know, the crafting system has been disabled and the crafting cards will no longer be awarded for completing PvE matches. The points will allow the players to unlock items in the PvE store by climbing up the PvE grades.

PvE points go towards the player’s PvE grade, and the grade is set to 1 each season. The player will get the same amount of PvE points as the sum of Crowns awarded for a mission/SO. Each grade requires a certain amount of points to be reached, there’s no limit to the highest possible grade.

What does it do?
Your grade allows you to unlock certain rewards in the seasonal PvE shop. The items in the shop can be bought for Crowns, and each season the rewards are reset.

What kind of rewards will be in the PvE shop?
The shop will offer different kinds of rewards that are unlocked progressively as the player climbs the PvE grades:
  • Regular one-time offers (a knife, a pistol).
  • Chain rewards: these are items that require the player to first buy a weapon’s temporary version in order to get the permanent version (similar to the Battle Pass store). The whole chain is unlocked once the rank requirement is met.
  • One-time offers with a limit:
    • these include parts;
    • by reaching a certain grade, the player can buy 1 parts pack;
    • if the player chooses to not buy it as soon as it’s available and goes further up the grades, they can unlock another one of these packs. So, each milestone unlocks a new pack of parts.
Shop Interface
For a better experience with the updated shop, the interface has also been changed slightly.

From now on, Astrum Entertainment will continue to support Russian servers. As the official Russian version of Warface will no longer be available on Steam for players from a number of countries*, we would like to remind players from that server of the possibility to transfer their accounts.

Shutting off the server support will occur in two stages:
  • As of September 19th, access to the Russian Steam web page has been disabled. All other features are still available;
  • In 90 days, access to the Russian Warface server on Steam will be completely closed down.

We understand how important it is for players to save their account, characters, and everything that they have accumulated in the game thus far. Which is why we strongly encourage users who play on the Russian server to transfer their game progress using a special migration page. More information will be available in a dedicated article on the game’s official Russian website.

Don’t forget that the news section and community center of our game will continue operating. There, you will be able to find up-to-date information and chat with other players. Please note that if you have previously added the game to your Steam client, it remains available to you.

*The discontinuation of the Russian Steam server support applies to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan.
