The previous announcements of modifications on the website caused heated discussions. Some players liked the novelty while others are quite wary of it. We have read and collected all your feedback on different platforms. Thank you for sharing your impressions and concerns with us - it really matters a lot. Your opinions about the new feature will definitely be taken into account while developing and implementing the system. Now we are searching for the most successful solutions that can please all parties and take into account the interests of the majority of players. In the meantime, we provide answers to the most frequently asked questions on the matter.

Mods and their specs

Q: What do we need the mod system for?
A: We have added modifications to give players the possibility to customize weapons to better suit their playstyles. Weapons will remain balanced, but, players will be able to improve certain specs at the cost of other characteristics of the arms.

The modifications system will diversify the weapon line-up used by players. By spending time in the game and completing tasks, players will be able to get powerful guns and customize them to suit their personal needs. One of the possible options for the development of the system: upon completing a contract, you will receive weapons that can be modified using special parts and upgrade arms to a higher tier.

We welcome your feedback and are ready to change the feature if necessary. We want the modifications system to be comfortable and fun.

Q: How will modifications affect the game balance?
A: First of all, it is important to note that most mods have both positive and negative effects on the performance of guns. So, improving one characteristic of a weapon you will degrade another one, that is the weapon will not become overpowered.

It will not be possible to modify all weapons. This decision aims to maintain the balance so that powerful guns most often used by veterans do not become even stronger. We want to diversify the arsenal used by players in battles so that you can use other items by changing their specs. At the same time, bonuses provided by mods will be different, depending on the category of weapons, namely:

  • Weapons not compatible with the modifications system (most articles of the current arsenal) that cannot be modified.
  • Weapons specially designed for modifications. The specs of their basic versions will not surpass those of powerful guns, but you can gradually customize them to suit your gameplay style. Upon installing mods, such weapons will become truly unique and competitive.
  • Vendor weapons. These arms will get more bonuses; thus, you will have an opportunity to improve your old favourite weapons and comfortably use them in combat again.

Q: Why do weapon mods have such specs? They only make guns weaker.
A: The characteristics you saw earlier on screenshots are not final and will change. At the moment, the system is being tested and we are working on rebalancing them. In addition, mods designed for different categories of weapons may have different specs.

Please bear in mind that mods are meant to change weapons. And we aim to balance things so that mods make weapons more comfortable to play with, but not overpowered.

Q: Will there be a full description of the mods specs? Do you plan to add a comparison chart of the weapon performance with and without mods?
A: Yes, we plan to add hidden stats as part of a game interface update. While we are working on the interface, you can find the complete information in dedicated publications.

How can I get mods? What weapons can they be installed on?

Q: Why are mods random?
A: We reward players for spending time in the game - you play and get additional rewards for game sessions. Thus, the advantage can be gained solely by spending time in the game, without additional investment.

At the same time, the best set of modifications will not be easy to get. To obtain it, you will need to improve the mastery of weapons, spend a lot of time in combats and complete daily tasks. We think the best mods are a good reward for a veteran for passing time in the game.

Q: What weapons will be available for an upgrade?
A: At the first stage, mods will be available for Vendor weapons and equipment. Later, we plan to add modifications for new weapons. It is possible that future weapons designed for the new feature will have a new type of rarity. Arms of this category will not be stronger than the best weapons in the game, but, at the same time, they will be competitive and comfortable to play with since you can customize them the way you like.

Q: What currency will we need? Will weapon upgrades require investment?
A: To upgrade weapons and equipment, you will need parts that can be obtained for completing simple tasks.

Q: How long does it take to upgrade an arm?
A: Each weapon and equipment piece has a different upgrade time. The time it takes to master an article depends on the item - some guns can be upgraded faster than stronger ones.

Q: Why would I need to upgrade weak weapons if I already have powerful guns?
A: You can upgrade weak arms to get familiar with the modification system. At the same time, mods will make some weapons competitive again reminding players of the good old days and let them play with the so familiar arms with which they started their ascent to higher ranks. At the same time, mods will make these guns more powerful.

Q: Now it is impossible to understand which weapons can be modified. How do I know if a weapon can be upgraded?
A: We are considering several options to indicate this possibility. So far, the mod system is in the final stages of development and we will show you the results later.

The first season of Ranked Matches dedicated to the large-scale update "Origins" has already kicked off. Take part in breathtaking combats and get plentiful rewards. We'd like to remind you that we have evenly distributed in-game currencies and boxes with cards for crafting gained in Ranked Matches to make it more beneficial for all parties involved. It will be easier for beginners to earn better rewards by fighting in lower leagues while experienced players will receive more prizes as they can reach higher leagues.

Details

  • The season will last till the 10th of November.
  • The rewards include weapons from the brand new "Apostate" series. The higher the league - the better the gun!
  • You will fight on the maps of "Plant the bomb" game mode and Blitz except for "Platform" and "Heist".
  • SEDs are excluded from the Ranked.

Prove your skills every season to gain recognition and additional bonuses. You will receive cool "Apostate" guns as well as seasonal camos.



Details

  • The unique stripe "Samurai Spirit" and the "Warface Ranking Matches League" badge will be given immediately upon reaching the 1st and the 21st leagues respectively and not after the end of the season as it used to be.
  • "Apostate" weapons will be awarded for 16th - 5th leagues. Each arm can be obtained for a period of 3 days.
  • Those players who reach the 3rd, the 2nd or the 1st leagues will get a random camo box containing the Amethyst or the Hearts camos. Seasonal box camos are random and do not repeat.
  • If you skip a season, you’ll have to wait until the 12-season cycle is complete to try and earn the first league achievement again! All achievements can be obtained only once.
  • To obtain achievements according to the occupied places ("Special Metal Forces Squad", "Silver Veterans Squad", "Elite Carbon Squad" or "Gold Legendary Squad") and camos after the end of the season, you must log into the game during the next season. Otherwise, if you come back after several seasons of Ranked Matches, the reward will be lost.

WHAT ARE MODS?

Modifications are new progression mechanics in Warface. They allow changing the specs of any primary or secondary Vendor weapon applying special bonuses - mods. In the future, the range of available items of this kind may be expanded.



Simply speaking, mods can improve the specifications of weapons, but the greater the boost, the more likely it will be set off by an additional negative effect, which mitigates the positive bonus. We want to ensure that the influence of mods will not be too strong and will not imbalance the game. Therefore, we will closely monitor the situation and your feedback, changing the characteristics of modifications if necessary.

HOW DO I UNLOCK MODS?

It's simple: just select the weapon you want to boost in the Inventory and play with it. The more you play, the more mastery you accumulate. The higher the mastery level, the more mods will become available and the higher their quality will be.



At the end of each match, you will get a certain amount of mastery points. The currency for generating mods can be obtained in several ways, for example, by increasing the mastery level of an item or as a reward for completing special contracts that will be available for the in-game currency in the future.

WHAT MODS ARE THERE?

You can see the complete list of modifications in the dedicated game menu. To go to it, open your Inventory, select a permanent arm and click on the corresponding button to the right that will take you to the modifications interface.

  • Each weapon type has its own set of mods. So the shotgun mods will be different from those of assault rifles.
  • Each type of mod has several levels of rarity, ranging from common to legendary. In total, there are five levels. The higher the level, the more difficult it is to get it.
  • With an increase in rarity, the mod becomes more effective, but, at the same time, the influence of the balancing negative effect grows. For example, the mod allows taking more ammunition. The greater the effect, the slower the character will move since the weight of the fighter's equipment increases due to the greater number of cartridges he carries, like in real life.
  • There are mods (including especially rare ones) that do not have negative effects.
  • You can instal up to three mods on each primary or secondary weapon model. Modification slots will open gradually as you unlock new mastery levels.

MORE DETAILS

  • You cannot install mods with the same effect or mods of the same type but with different rarity in two different slots (for example, epic and legendary damage mods). If a mod is equipped, it will no longer appear in other generation slots.
  • The mastery level of weapons can be increased using both temporary versions and permanent ones. However, modifications can be mounted only on permanent weapon versions.
  • When using a series weapon, the mastery level is accumulated for all available versions of the gun. Please note that the post-match statistics screen will show progress for only one arm, although it is being boosted for all weapon versions.
  • The mod system is only available for primary and secondary Vendor weapons. The list may be expanded in the future.
  • Activated mods cannot be moved from one item to another, only generated from scratch.
  • Some mods affect specs that are not displayed in the interface. However, there is an effect that can be felt in battle.
  • Mods work only for those weapons that are in the character's hands in battle. That is, the secondary weapon mods will start working when the player switches to the secondary arm.
  • Some mods are only available for a certain type of weapon (for example, a shotgun-only mod).

The new agent is already available in Warface! Meet Barney "Sledgehammer" Cross, a fighter of the "Hammer" Squad. Barney has mastered weapons and the art of war and is a brave medic. These qualities make him a reliable companion in combat.

Agent "Sledgehammer" forms part of the "Hidden War" season. Feel free to check out the update news to learn more about it.

Details

Barney "Sledgehammer" Cross is a former secret service officer under the president. He was the most devoted man of "Uncle Sam" for 15 years. Barney had to retire after being seriously injured in an attack on the president at a G8 summit.

After ending his career, he founded a security agency "Hammer", which ensures the safety of high-profile persons. Familiar with all intricacies of the secret service, Barney "Sledgehammer" effortlessly manages his organization, easily solving the most complex security issues. He also keeps warm memories about the past and takes part in operations, especially in the hottest spots. The harder the battle, the better!

Since Barney is a tactical medic by specialization, he tries to adhere to the principle of "everyone will return home safe."

Along with the character skin of the "Hammer" Squad, new weapons of the "Iceberg" series (the AK-15 Custom, TEC-9, Tavor CTAR-21 Special and Karambit) have appeared in the game.

A new seasonal update "Origins" is coming. It will feature a redesigned in-game Battle Pass system, and we invite you to take a closer look at it.

Why are there changes?

The familiar Battle Pass system is outdated and needed to be reworked.

The Battle Pass is a popular mechanic that combines heaps of meta-elements that you encounter daily and that bring you fun in the game. Simply put, they get you the pleasure of playing every day: for example, wins in matches, fulfilling contracts, achieving leagues, earning achievements, and so on.

The current system existed in isolation from meta-mechanics. In addition, mechanics were often introduced separately and only occasionally got united (for example, in a themed update). We want to combine the usual meta-mechanics, which might feel routine, for you to enjoy your time in the game.

What will be added?

  • Completely reworked game interface. It's simple - а picture is worth a thousand words.
  • Special shop. The currency of this shop is tokens. They will be valid for one season and will expire after the end of the Battle Pass if you do not use them. The primary way to earn tokens is to participate in the Battle Pass. Upon reaching the maximum level, you are guaranteed to receive the required number of tokens to unlock at least one weapon model. If you play more and move on to prestige levels, you will earn additional tokens meaning that you can open even more items.
  • Contracts. At the start of the Battle Pass, absolutely all players will receive two types of contracts - daily contracts with a box (by opening which, you can get a permanent or a temporary weapon) and a special contract with simple tasks, by completing which you can unlock new "Apostate" equipment for all classes (except for the SED). In addition, upon reaching level 30 of the Battle Pass, paid access owners will receive contracts with powerful class-specific weapons as a reward.
  • Series box. Those who wish to get weapons of the new series as early as possible will be able to do so via a themed box that will appear in the in-game store. As we mentioned above, this box will be available in a special daily contract.

What will change?

  • Number of levels. The maximum Battle Pass level is now 50. After reaching it, you can go to prestige levels. By getting to this endless series of additional levels, you will receive a small but valuable reward: special tokens needed to unlock new guns or equipment.
  • Gaming time. We have reduced the number of levels, but the total gaming time required to achieve maximum BP progress has not decreased. On the contrary, it may take a little longer for you to make full progress. In return for your efforts, you will receive valuable and unique rewards (for example, powerful arms), most of which are permanent. The number of temporary prizes has been significantly reduced, and there are no temporary versions of guns at all.
  • Level progression. Now you can get experience for level progression for literally everything - play in modes that are comfortable for you (except for custom rooms) to gain experience and unlock new levels. The amount of XP will depend on the mode difficulty. As before, to prevent farming, you will need to fulfil certain conditions, for example, correctly end a match or eliminate at least a certain number of enemies. We will share the final details later.
  • Tasks. We have removed the weekly mission system. Now you will only have daily tasks at your disposal - one per day. You can postpone the task for the next day to accumulate up to three active quests that will not expire until you complete them or skip them for the in-game currency. After finishing a task, you will gain experience to unlock new levels of the Battle Pass, and the next day a new quest will become available.
  • Unique rewards. The total number of rewards has changed compared to the previous BP versions meaning that now you will receive only the most valuable prizes without being distracted by temporary rewards. And if this is not enough, you can accumulate tokens and spend them on cool weapons in a special Battle Pass shop.

What will remain the same?

  • Two types of Battle Pass access. As before, there are two types of access to the Battle Pass - the free and the premium ones. The free version allows you to accumulate progress and get some of the rewards. However, you will need full access to get the main content (including special contracts). In addition, all players with any access type will be able to receive equipment via a special contract available from the start.
  • Season-based nature. The Battle Pass will be part of a major seasonal update, including other events and changes. The theme for the next season is "Origins". We will focus on the military style: we hope it will remind you why we all once fell in love with Warface.

We can already show you a couple of screenshots with the new interface of the future Battle Pass. Please note: the images are work in progress. The design, settings and other game elements that are demonstrated can be subject to change.

We are glad to present you a new content update - the final part of the big season "Hidden War." We have already begun to prepare interesting novelties that await you. Still, for now, we suggest you get acquainted with new guns, weapon series, an agent, and themed content related to him. Please note that the new content is not available in the game now; we will inform you later about the ways of its distribution. Moreover, we have fixed some of the reasons for an incorrect end of battles.

KAC PDW

The KAC PDW is an assault rifle that combines compactness and impressive power. The weapon boasts excellent damage, range, and rate of fire. The model comes equipped with three unique attachments: a flash guard, a silencer, and a reflex sight. The gun comes in two versions: the golden model offers an increased rate of fire, takes more ammunition, and features a more spacious magazine.



TX-15 SBR

The TX-15 SBR is a functional submachine gun developed on the AR-15 platform using modern polymer materials. The arm has a shortened carbine barrel. In the game, the TX-15 SBR owes its top performance to an impressive range and rate of fire offset by its recoil and aiming speed which are more modest compared to some class-specific models.



The weapon comes in two versions (the regular and the golden ones) and offers three unique attachments: a silencer, a reflex sight, and a special handle. The latter stands out due to a higher rate of fire, a more spacious magazine, and increased ammunition.

"Hammer Squad" Set

A new agent is almost here! Very soon, the character of the Hammer squad will tell us his story. In the meantime, here is a themed set of items: a character skin, a series of weapons and camouflages "Iceberg," weapon charms and achievements. The pack also includes a series version of the Tavor CTAR-21 Special.

The Tavor CTAR-21 Special is a compact submachine gun designed for special forces units. It boasts high accuracy, devastating damage, and a good effective range. The weapon has a manageable recoil and unique attachments that increase shooting efficiency.

"Scratch" Series

The new weapon series features striking colour patterns on the frames. Daring looks, wild power in every pixel, and admiring looks of opponents await those who manage to replenish their arsenals with the novelty! The series includes the Scratch Chiappa Triple Threat and the Scratch DVL-10 M2.



In addition, a new version of the bat, Anesthetic Bat, and a themed Decontamination Charm have been added to the game.

New Contracts

The system of contracts has been replenished with new orders. Don't miss class-specific ones: you will prove to everyone a real pro and get good rewards by completing them. The prizes include helpful items and consumables as well as permanent weapons of the "Impulse" series for fully completing an order.

Bug Fixes

Important

  • Fixed some causes of the issue "Receiving a reward ... Press Esc to skip." The number of gaming sessions that ended with no results and awards should diminish significantly.
  • Upd: Disabling DirectX 9 will be postponed to carry out additional tests to ensure the stability of the system. For now, you'll be able to switch between the two versions. We'll keep you up to speed on any changes. Details.

Weapons and Gear

  • Fixed a bug due to which some new golden weapons might not count towards the task progress of the Battle Pass "Hidden War".
  • MSBS Radon "Scar": fixed a bug due to which the scales with the weapon specs were displayed incorrectly.
  • MSBS Radon: fixed a bug due to which some weapon versions of the model were named Custom.

Other

  • Updated game texts and descriptions, fixed some localization bugs.
