Soon in game: Special Operation "Blackwood"

The next Warface update will bring along a new Special Operation "Blackwood" that has already been mentioned in the development roadmap for 2020. The operation will feature one-off bosses, different completion order and unique environment!

Such a test requires thorough preparation. Examine the intel, recall all the events taking place in this chapter of the Warface story, complete combat missions with friends on a special promo page and get cool guns!

Start Preparation

PLOT

The success of your squad "Wega-5" in the mission on Mars turned into a defeat - you were captured by Blackwood operatives right in the SED operator link units. Oberon White ran this operation personally. General Lee Wharton attempted to rescue you, and opened fire on Oberon's "Mantis" knowing that his people are aboard.
After long and painful tortures, your will was broken. A video demonstrating Agent Noda’s execution for disobedience by order of General Wharton became the final straw. Your world is falling apart. Who is the real villain? It seems that Warface and Blackwood are different sides of the same coin. Oberon offered you two options – to rot alive in dark cells or join the "Omega Black" squad. The choice is too obvious!

You join "Omega Black" and set off on your first operation under the command of Oberon White. The goal is to retake the research base captured by Warface forces and prevent Blackwood secret developments from falling into the opponents' hands.

FEATURES OF THE SPECIAL OPERATION

The Special Operation "Blackwood" has plenty of unique features that will certainly interest all fans of the genre.

Plot. The further development of the story of "Wega-5" fighters, Agent Noda and Oberon White with unexpected plot twists.
New setting. You will find yourselves on a volcanic island in the northern Atlantic Ocean. It is a unique region that has never been seen in the game. The Blackwood military research complex consisting of three bases that you will have to capture is located here.
Large open area. You will decide where to go and how to explore the vast territory of the island.
Different completion order. The sequence of events of the Special Operation depends on the order of base activation. That’s why every mission you will take up will be different from the previous one!
Underground locations. You have to break into underground laboratories, each one designed in a unique style.
New enemies. Fighting on the side of Blackwood, you will clash with your recent comrades and face Warface military devices.
Unique bosses. Each boss has different combat mechanics and weak points. So, you will have to find a special approach to each of them. Depending on the completion order, the difficulty, tactics and weapons of bosses will change!
Role separation. While fighting against a boss, your team will have to split up to perform fundamentally different tasks that will affect the overall result.
Auxiliary means. Collect resources to purchase grenade launchers, laser shields, barricades, and a completely new portable turret. This equipment will greatly simplify enemy destruction.
Reward system. To get the maximum reward, you will need to complete the operation three times so that each time you kill a new boss last. The reward will be distributed after the end of the weekly cycle allotted for mission completion.

GAMEPLAY

The Special Operation "Blackwood" is a blend of new mechanics and the most successful gameplay of the previous Special Operations. It will feature bosses with one-off features, a large open location to explore, role separation, teamwork, "meaty" gameplay, and much more.

Each base is a game cycle which can be roughly divided into two stages: the capture of a building and the terminal defense while fighting against a boss. In total, there are 3 cycles of this kind. After being deployed, you will choose the order in which to go through the bases and laboratories with bosses underneath. However, remember that each subsequent cycle will be harder than the previous one!

Special auxiliary equipment purchased with resources gained during the mission will play an important role in terminal defense. For example, a portable protective turret that can be placed at a favorable firing position will be quite handy.

The battle against bosses deserves special attention since each of them has unique features. Once you destroy one boss, the rest of them become more difficult to defeat. The difficulty determines the boss behavior and tactics you will have to adopt to annihilate it.We will tell you more about the bosses as well as their strengths and weaknesses in a separate publication.

The SpecOp "Blackwood" employs a cyclic reward system already familiar to you from "Hydra". A week is allotted for mission completion. During this time you can destroy bosses in different order. Once the cycle is over, you will automatically receive from one to three boxes with a reward. Therefore, each time you complete the operation you need to kill a new boss last.

By completing the Special Operation "Blackwood" you will be able to earn unique weapons of the "Blackwood" series. We will tell you more about the reward system and achievements in a separate publication.

A new map "Blackwood Base" will soon appear in the game. It will expand the list of available locations for the "Storm" mode. Go into battle to see and examine the nemesis’ refuge with your own eyes. Be extremely careful and stay on the alert!

ABOUT THE MAP

For several years running, our agents tried to find the location of the adversary corporation military base. Each clue was meticulously studied. However, all threads broke, informants disappeared without a trace, and we ended up with nothing at all.

During one of the recent reconnaissance missions, we managed to get on the right track. After a couple of months of close surveillance, the long-awaited information was gathered. Your squad will be deployed on the volcanic islands in the northern Atlantic Ocean. Explore the discovered facilities!

If you find any useful information - a draft of secret plans or blueprints of inventions - report to the headquarters immediately. The knowledge gained will help us in future combat!

DETAILS

The base will greet you with a harsh coastal landscape, a stunning beauty of underground ice caves, lots of combat vehicles and plain military buildings, where it is easy to hide and remain inconspicuous. The base is reliably fortified and has three key points which you will have to storm.

The new map for the mode “Storm” is a real breakthrough! You are in for a different geographical location, excellent player "readability" on the ground, impressive detailed elaboration of objects and their customization depending on the side for which you fight. "Blackwood Base" has a unique charm and individuality that perfectly fit the classic gameplay of the mode. The mechanics of unlocking checkpoints remain unchanged: the next checkpoint opens after you capture the previous one. No doubt, the map will provide favourite gameplay experience for all kinds of players.

Prepare to capture positions by studying the pictures of the grounds where the battle is to be fought. This will help you think through the tactics in advance, choose the most fitting class and pick up the right weapons.

Win, succeed and earn unique achievements. Only the best fighters will be able to proudly decorate their profiles with these memorable distinctions. Become one of them!

We are launching a new season of our Top Gun event - the one where you can get one or even two great permanent guns for free!

Participate

Please note: Because of the way the progress is counted in this event, changing your class may lead to the errors with processing the match results.

Due to that, we advise you to refrain from class changing during the matches in which you attempt to complete your daily event mission.

Rules for Season 6

General

New permanent rewards: Enfield L85A2 Custom, XM8 Compact, USAS-12 or Dragunov SVU-AS;
The season lasts for 30 days (the event finishes on June, 10);
You can earn tokens by completing a PvP or a PvE task;
PvP task: 50 kills within a day in any PvP mode;
PvE task: 200 kills within a day in any Spec Op;
You can only complete 1 mission a day: a PvP OR a PvE one, not BOTH of them.

Token progress

You get 1 token for each completed task;
For each 5 completed tasks (not necessarily in a row) you get 3 extra tokens and a Mega VIP booster for 1 day;
You can get the maximum of 48 tokens in the course of an event (30 for daily tasks + 18 extra).

Rewards
Each permanent weapon costs 20 tokens, so you can get the max of 2 permanent weapons from the list. 2 permanent weapons from the list.

Soon in game: ACR CQB Custom

We are proud to introduce the ACR CQB Custom, a new version of the familiar Engineer primary. Its high rate of fire and the ability to land one-shot kills at short distance will not leave even the most sophisticated collectors indifferent!

ACR CQB Custom

In 2007, Magpul Industries engineers decided to rework the construction and looks of the M16 weapon series using the best practices of the FN SCAR, the XM8 and other modern arms. In just four months, a new weapon system Magpul Masada ACWS (standing for Adaptive Combat Weapon System) was elaborated. In 2008, Bushmaster Firearms bought the license for the ACWS. The company modified the system and began its mass production under the name of the Bushmaster ACR (Adaptive Combat Rifle). In the early 2010s, Remington Arms Company started manufacturing this weapon as well.

Most ACR parts are made of polyamide fibers interwoven with each other and coated with a damp-proof substance. The weapon frame can withstand heat of up to 210 degrees Celsius and similar temperatures below zero. The modification CQB (Close Quarters Battle) features a shortened barrel and a forend with additional rails. The reduced size is ideal for fighting in confined spaces such as small rooms, corridors, and dense urban areas.

The ACR CQB Custom is a fantastic gun! Its high rate of fire and unique sights will leave the enemy no chance to escape alive. Moreover, the weapon is lethal at close and medium distances; thus, it will become the ultimate solution in most combat situations.

The ACR CQB Custom is equipped with four one-off attachments. The first one is a silencer that reduces damage by only 5%. The second one is a tactical grip that diminishes recoil but increases reload time. A 1,3x sight that decreases muzzle shake is the third one. The last available attachment is a fast-zoom 4x sight.

Achievements

By killing enemies with this weapon you will be able to get memorable distinctions.

The new in-game crafting system became available after the yesterday’s update. In short, it is a reward system based on the simple principle of card exchange. While participating in various game activities, the player will receive cards and, upon collecting the necessary set, exchange them for cool weapons.

We have already provided information on it before, so today we want to expand on it and answer the hottest questions as well as to make this particular article the central hub for all things related to crafting.

THE CONCEPT OF CRAFTING
Crafting is a long-term activity in which players will be able to gain unique items by investing only their effort, not real money. We do not expect that the progress will be quick. The system implies quite a long resource accumulation, during weeks and months, rather than days. Therefore, a slow card collection is part of the plan.

At the first stage, it is essential to fine-tune the system. So we will monitor card receipt, analyse player categories - those who have lots of resources and those who lack them, and make timely adjustments preventing weapons and cards from losing their value. Naturally, the general figures had been modeled; but in real life, many things may differ from the model, and it is important to take them into account.

A distinctive feature of this system is that card acquisition is not limited to the game process as such: they will be distributed on social platforms, during contests and in other interesting ways.

WAYS OF OBTAINING CARDS
In a way, crafting is of a seasonal nature. Each new weapon series will correspond to a certain activity type for those players who would like to add new craftable items to their collections.

For example, participation in Ranked Matches is the main way of obtaining cards for the current weapon line-up: Cobalt Kinetics. The arms perfectly fit fights against other users and first of all will be interesting for PvP players. In the future, we will add other guns that will have their particular ways of acquisition, different from those of the present series.

via in-game events
in social network competitions
by purchasing free cards in the game shop

The shop item just provides an opportunity to buy a couple of cards if the necessary amount is almost collected and you are dying to get the gun here and now; therefore, it is quite expensive.

FUTURE PLANS FOR THE SYSTEM
As for the long-term plans (for a month or more), we are considering the possibility of adding Crown Random Boxes with cards, as well as introducing cards as additional rewards for the existing events and activities if the system balance requires such adjustments.
