Meet Uzkon UNG-12 — a brand new Medic weapon to be featured in the next update. This shotgun is bound to catch an eye with its unusual futuristic design. Fully automatic, it’s able to unleash a hailstorm of lead upon the battlefield, posing a severe threat in close quarters!
INSPIRATION
This compact bullpup shotgun was designed by a Turkish small arms manufacturer, Uzkon Arms Defence. On their own, smooth-bore bullpup rifles are a proven exotic for the international market, though UNG-12 manages to capture the spotlight — much owed to its magazine feed system.
IN WARFACE
Delivered straight into the hands of Medics, this aluminum-polymer hybrid threatens to strip the class of its supportive role: UNG-12 is far superior to both its automatic and semi-automatic analogues, and even poses a solid threat to the pump-action powerhouses! Let’s get into the details.
To start with, Uzkon UNG-12 shows plenty of promise with accuracy, effective range, damage and rate of fire values — the latter as its forte. Having said that, it falls short of customization features provided by its peers, as the shotgun can only be outfitted with a flash guard that reduces muzzle flash and damage drop beyond its effective range.
Uzkon UNG-12 will be available in Random Kredit Boxes and Random Crown Boxes.
The shotgun also comes in three variants: regular, golden and platinum. The Golden UNG-12 will feature increased magazine capacity and rate of fire, while the Platinum counts as a visual upgrade to your golden variant, and can be only obtained in Random Kredit Boxes. By the way, if you find the Platinum shotgun in a Random Box, you’ll get the Golden variant as well!
Don’t forget the achievements! Landing killing blows with this shotgun will provide you with memorable stripes that can be pinned on your profile. Wear ‘em with pride!
Please note that weapon specs may change per test results.

Following the recent balance overhauls for shotguns, submachine guns and sniper rifles, it’s time to turn our attention to the most all-round, versatile role in Warface: the Rifleman. Next game update will bring changes to the following 9 guns: Tavor TAR-21, AUG A3, XM8, CALICO M955A, Daewoo K2, FN F2000, Famas F1, Galil AR, IMBEL IA2.
These adjustments will mostly touch upon effective range and zoom rate (how fast you zoom in and out). See below for more info on each gun.
IMPORTANT: WEAPON SPECS LISTED ABOVE MAY CHANGE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE TEST RESULTS.
The first season starts today and will end on October the 30th, 20:00 UTC (21:00 CET). Please note that the ranked matches are back to monthly cycles instead of 3-week ones.
Ranked matches will be conducted on all “Plant the Bomb” and “Blitz” maps, including the newest map to be introduced, the “Platform”.
Mind-blowing weapon skin series: “Amethyst”, “Jade Dragon” and “Desert” for reaching the higher leagues
Warface Dollars, Crowns and Boosters for advancing to each next league
Achievements for advancing to the required leagues, including the “ “You can not beat me!” achievement for the first league
You can always track your progress in your account overview on the site.
EQUIPMENT RESTRICTIONS
Weapon and equipment restrictions will be enabled. Whitelisted items carry a special marker in your inventory. If you equip restricted items, you won’t be able to join a ranked match.
RESTRICTIONS AGAINST SEMI-AUTOMATIC SNIPER RIFLES WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT BASED ON YOUR REVIEWS DURING THE TEST SEASONS.
BLACKLISTED ITEMS
Any automatic and semi-automatic sniper rifles (excluding Dragunov SR) Items that restore health/armor too quickly (exceeding 2pts/sec)
Any items preventing damage from the first shot (“Anti-Sniper”, “Plate”, “Scout”, “Titan-II” vests and class helmets)
Anti-personnel and seasonal mines
Any flag grenades, excluding the standard grenade
Any old elite weapons and armor
PROGRESSION AND REWARDS
In order to advance between leagues, you need to win consecutive matches. As you climb higher, you will have to display better prowess, flexibility and persistence. At the same time, you won’t drop down instantaneously if you happen to lose — you will have a change to recover by winning a series of matches. If you fail to use this opportunity and continue to lose, you’ll roll back to the previous league.
Important! It will be incredibly tough to drop out after reaching the first league — you will have to lose 9 matches out of 10. This has been implemented as a preventive measure to let the top contenders master their skills to perfection while enjoying the competitive scene, without worrying over losing their rank.
ACHIEVEMENTS
All participants that win at least one ranked match will receive the “ Warface Ranking Matches League” mark.
Top contenders that finish the season in the first league will be able to proudly fly their “You can not beat me!” stripe. Please note that if you skip a season, you’ll have to wait until the 12-season cycle is complete to try and earn that achievement again! The full list of all 12 achievements for reaching the first league can be found in the announcement.
The absolute champions that collect all 12 stripes will receive a unique badge, “Best of the best!”.
FULL SEASONAL ACHIEVEMENTS LIST
Players will be able to receive the following custom achievements
SEASON REWARDS
The ultimate reward for reaching the first league is the Amethyst weapon skins. This is a one-of-a-kind series that can only be unlocked via ranked matches during fall. Once the winter season starts, the weapon series will also change.
Please note that you will not be able to get the same skins twice if you have already received them before.
Old weapon skins remain available in the game, and you will be able to get them just as before.
SEASON REWARDS
Those that manage to climb up to the golden league will get different permanent weapon skins.
Today three guns have spawned in store: Saiga Spike, Nuclear Beretta ARX160 and Nuclear MAG-7.
Saiga Spike is a brand new unique shotgun for Warface Dollars that is here to stay.
Nuclear Beretta ARX160 and Nuclear MAG-7 will roam only till the 8th of October.
Saiga Spike
Meet Saiga Spike, a destructive bullpup shotgun that uses highly-potent slugs! It packs a punch strong enough to knock down any opponent within 12 meters.
Moving on to the specs, one can’t help but notice the damage values and how they translate into performance in the real world of Warface. Unlike pellets, a slug round delivers a steady focused shot that is powerful enough to knock anyone down, regardless of their armor.
While lenient on damage — maxing out at 500 points within its effective range of 12m — this gun leaves little room for error with its low rate of fire and capacity. Nevertheless, the bullpup configuration makes recoil manageable and accuracy reliable enough for an average user, while the Picatinny rail provides plenty of customization opportunities.
Looking for a new experience as a medic? Look no further and check out Saiga Spike in Warface Dollar Boxes.
A prime assault rifle packed with devastating power – Nuclear ARX160 is an ideal weapon for combat in any area and at any distance. This radioactive monstrosity combines outstanding power with controllable recoil and peak RPM making it deadly even in the hands of a rookie. Add high accuracy and you receive a recipe for disaster, the disaster of your foes!
Nuclear MAG-7
Despite its size, MAG-7 has one of the highest damage values in the game — it’s a pump-action shotgun after all. At the same time this glorious weapon is not limited in accuracy and its range remains highly competitive. The lack of substantial recoil is not disturbing at all and makes MAG-7 perfect for landing subsequent shots on your targets — effectively disintegrating them.
The October update has just gone live, bringing a new map: “Platform”, Saiga Spike shotgun, new achievements and much more!
NEW MAP: “PLATFORM”
The all-time favorite “Blitz” has now been updated with the new “Platform” map. It will be available immediately in Ranked Matches.
The map has 4 places to access the plant site from, one opening gate and one climbing spot, from which the attackers can silently surprise their foes from behind. The entry points are placed equally close to both teams, which will definitely influence the tactics and strategies of both sides.
The map was designed for all classes to have comfortable gameplay:
Snipers can occupy the windows of the second floors and monitor the main gates
Riflemen will perform well on the flanks and in the spawning area
Plenty of corners and side-streets will be appreciated by the players who use Medics and Engineers
Achievements
You will of course receive special achievements for the successes on this map.
Saiga Spike is a one-of-a-kind shotgun that will blow up and completely redefine your typical medic gameplay! It comes loaded with an LMG round instead of a buckshot, the so-called “slug”. Loaded with 12-gauge slugs Spike is bound to knock down even the most heavily-armored foes at ranges up to 12 meters.

HCAR is the first semi-automatic assault rifle to be featured in the game. This is a great pick for both Snipers looking for transition to other roles, and Riflemen that wish to try something different than their usual automatic toolkit.
The rifle is set to revolutionize gameplay in Warface, and is the first semi-automatic weapon for the Rifleman. Whether you’re a Rifleman ‘main’ looking to try something new, or a veteran Sniper looking for an easy transition, this is hands down your best pick.
HCAR deals double damage to body and limbs, sports considerably high damage — enough to knock most of them down. These great qualities are offset by recoil and a limited capacity, as the mag carries only 20 rounds.
The golden variant brings an increased rate of fire and an expanded mag capacity. Both regular and golden variants will be available in Random Kredit Boxes.
The game now features 24 new achievements for combat prowess on the new “Platform” map, as well as “Longway”, “Wharf” and “Sirius” (3 badges and 3 marks for each map).
RANKED MATCHES 2.0 SEASON 1
Compete in the first season of the reworked ranked matches.
Regional matchmaking has been improved: players will now be selected for a match also based on proximity to one another.
WEAPONS
Reworked Taurus Judge specs. Secondary weapons are designed to support the primaries, and can be used frequently if the situation, like a specific map, just calls for it. However, it has become obvious that Taurus Judge filled the niche intended for the primary weapons, and this revolver shows better performance than shotguns at times. We believe a single weapon — even the one possessing unique features — shouldn’t ruin class balance, and thus we’ll be reducing some of its strengths. The revolver is meant to be a reliable secondary weapon, not a primary one. After these changes, Taurus Judge will keep its unthinkable powers in close quarters combat, thanks to the ability to deliver swift one-shot justice.
- rate of fire reduced to 150 (prev. 200) - damage drop at greater ranges changed to 3 (prev. 4) - increased spread
In order to improve class balance, we will be increasing the sniper rifle sway caused by jumping while in the aiming mode. This change will impact all sniper rifles and their versions with 120ms zoom speed and higher (XM8 Sharpshooter, Calico M951S, Barrett M98B, McMillan CS5, SIG 550, SVU-AS, M16 SPR Custom, AX308, QBU-88, Steyr Scout, Remington MSR). Their actual speed remains the same. This change is meant to enhance the concept of the class. Acrobatics and sharp movement are more suited to classes fighting in close quarters combat. For example, Medics and Engineers often have to depend on it to survive a gunfight. In regards to Snipers, their archetype suggests more subtle gameplay and long-range attacks.
Improved animations for Saiga 12-S
OTHER CHANGES
Disabled particles appearing on the ground during walking or landing after a jump. These particles will remain when falling into water.
Added two new contracts to replace the ones removed previously:
- eliminate 15 enemies with headshots in “Free for All”, “Bag and Tag” or “Battle Royale” - eliminate 20 enemies with slide kills
Game client: disabled the global operation K.I.W.I. button
BUG FIXES
PvP: Plant the Bomb, Yard - fixed the error causing one of the walls to be displayed differently based on video settings.
Fixed the problem with screen resolution allowing players to see through specific objects.
Fixed specific achievement positions within the banner.
PvP: Battle Royale, Exclusion Zone - fixed the error causing the fence to disappear due to character position in specific places.
KNOWN ISSUES
Saiga Spike: muzzle flame with the standard flashguard doesn’t reflect upon the nearby objects.
Saiga Spike: shotgun ammo doesn’t refill with Rifleman class ability.
Servers will be down for scheduled maintenance on 04.10.2018 from 08:00 to 10:00 UTC (10:00 to 12:00 CEST). Please bear in mind you will not be able to access the game during that time.
As the developers of Warface, we’re facing a tough choice:
On one hand, it’s crucial to keep the game up-to-date to modern standards that change at an alarming pace. That means introducing global changes using our current progress.
On the other, we keep in mind that some gamers either don’t want to go for the newest upgrades, or are temporarily forced to use outdated hardware.
These directions are clearly in contradiction of one another, and thus the afore-mentioned global changes are often hard-to-impossible to implement. As such, we are often forced to seek unorthodox solutions to the existing problems so as not to avoid discarding low-end PCs altogether. In a fashion, we have become quite adept at that over the past years, keeping the system requirements practically the same as they were at the start.
Minimum system requirements comparison: 2013 to 2018
This seemingly eternal search for the golden mean can’t in fact continue forever: each year spent with the old software imposes even greater additional limitations, no matter how many workarounds we come up with. We’re talking about the extremely outdated technologies and software here that most of the modern developers have discarded long ago (Ubisoft, Bethesda, Electronic Arts, Activision, From Software, Blizzard, Rockstar Games, Adobe and many more).
This fate had befallen Crytek before in the case of Windows XP and Vista, as we continued to support XP 4 years after Microsoft had officially discontinued its support. The same is happening today with the 32-bit operating systems. (Yes, the PC version of our game is still a 32-bit application!)
This means it’s time for us to go ahead and change to 64-bit in order to keep up with the modern standards and provide quality content and updates for our players. Most importantly, it will allow us to rid the game of client crashes, to further improve optimization and lift the endless limitations stopping us from improving the game. Let’s break it down into the key points and go over each of them one by one.
Optimization and fixing crashes
Some players encounter the problem with client crashes. It’s often caused by the lack of random-access memory (RAM), though may still occur even on high-end devices that come with plenty of RAM installed. This is directly related to the 32-bit issue.
What is bitness?
There’s no need to go in deep detail of computer systems architecture, so the short version is — bitness translates into ability to process a specific amount of bits simultaneously. Operating systems, applications (and games) can be either 32 or 64-bit. Warface is currently a 32-bit application.
What is random-access memory needed for?
Each object on the map is a model that’s wrapped in textures that the player actually sees — this goes for the surrounding environment, weapon details, enemies and actual characters.
This is how your environment would look like stripped of textures.
Textures are the main consumer of random-access memory — they are saved in RAM, but the amount of memory allocated can be limited by the OS.
32-bit (x86) OS allows Warface to use no more than 2GB of RAM.
64-bit OS will allow up to 3.5GB of RAM provided that it’s not taken by other processes.
So to keep it simple, if you’ve got more than 4GB of RAM, a 32-bit application won’t be able to use them all. And if you’re running a 32-bit OS, then games get even less memory to ‘play with’. As such, when you run out of RAM, your game just crashes.
It gets even worse when you’re running other applications: browser, apps and other background tasks. These consume all of your RAM and leave too little for the game.
Try to keep your PC clean: don’t install apps you don’t need and close the ones you’re just not using at the given time.
Even if you have more than 2GB of RAM, switching to 64-bit OS will prove useful: even a small increase in performance can be substantial in the long run. You will also be able to run any of the 64-bit applications.
How do 64-bit applications work?
When you’re running a 64-bit app on a 64-bit OS, there are two major beneficial factors at play.
Full memory allocation — 64-bit applications can make use of all of its allocated RAM in order to load the textures.
Better pagefile processing — the system that keeps RAM safe from overload (that can occur due to storing excess amounts of information on the hard drive).
32-bit operating systems also have pagefiles, but it translates into poorer performance. The load on the hard drive is greater due to the previously mentioned memory limit. Whenever the hard drive fails to cope with the load, the game will begin to stutter.
It’s worth noting that the hard drive has its read/write speeds depending on the type or model, whether HDD or SSD.
Optimization of future development
The developers at Crytek strive to deliver quality content every year, while keeping the system requirements incredibly low. This puts severe limitations on what kind of content can be created, and how quickly it can be implemented. There are a lot of bold ideas that could be implemented in Warface, but we often have to consider the low-end PCs that won’t manage some feature that’s demanding on hardware. You might have noted that in the case of the recently released special operations and “Battle Royale” — not all of our players were able to try it out due to outdated hardware.
We are always attentive to your feedback on the forums and we appreciate the suggestions you share with us. A lot of these ideas can actually be implemented if the range of our players’ devices was more consistent in performance.
Switching to 64-bit will lift the limitations for the developers and open new horizons for the game.
What to expect?
As a result of the points brought up above, one can’t help but lean towards switching to 64-bit. Let’s just round up the changes it will bring:
No more crashes due to RAM shortages. Low-end PCs with insufficient RAM will make better use of pagefile to prevent crashes.
Performance optimizations for up-to-date PCs. Players with extra RAM on hand will be able to experience more fluid and stable gameplay, as more of their RAM will be available to them.
Discontinuing support for 32-bit operating systems means switching to modern standards.
Massive opportunities for future development. New opportunities will enable Crytek to deliver gameplay far more massive, diverse and quality-driven than ever before.
Transition schedule
Don’t worry: the transition to 64-bit systems won’t be happening in the next few days — it’s scheduled for the first half of 2019. We want to ensure that you are informed well in advance, so that you have plenty of time to make any preparations necessary. It’s a very simple process and won’t demand much of you.
The transition means that support for 32-bit systems will inevitably be discontinued. If you have a 32-bit operating system, you still have plenty of time to update.
Currently the 64-bit Warface is being tested on consoles — this allows us to safely test the changes and prepare the best we can for the PC transition.
More articles and guidelines will be released on this subject in the future. You will be able to learn more about the specifics of operating systems and hopefully find useful tips.
We will share the guidelines on how to check the bitness of your system and how to change it. It’s simpler than you think!
You have likely got a heap of questions coming our way: ask away in the designated topic on our forum! The most frequently asked and interesting questions will be forwarded to the developers, and we will prepare the answers for you.
Be it special operation “Pripyat” or the TDM map based on it – engineers rock hard, while the snipers are silent and deadly.
