Our 2 Million Download festivities continue with the Community Card Pack 4 Art Contest!
We've chosen 6 new card concepts that fit together into a community card pack, and then consulted Orange Juice about fitting concepts for them. Now we're happy to announce the launch of the Community Card Pack 4 Art Contest!
The art contest will be live until July 12, 2023
Like before, art can be submitted for any number of cards and any number of times.
IMPORTANT CHANGE: Submissions must both be posted in the Artwork section of the steam hub with the tag #100OJcommunitypack and the name of the Card they are meant for, AND e-mailed to http://support@fruitbatfactory.com.
The email must include the following:
Subject: 100% Orange Juice Community Card Pack Contest
Name of the card the entry is meant for.
Link to Steam Artwork section entry.
Desired name to be credited in-game and on social media in case of a win.
Full quality art, plus 2 in-progress versions of the art (or alternatively, a .PSD with several layers to similar effect).
This change is both due to the unreliability of the Artwork section in displaying all the entries, and to allow us to confirm no entry is AI generated.
The winning entries will be used on the cards, and we will work with Orange Juice to provide flavor texts to match the artwork. Finally, the new Community Card Pack will be released as a free update for everyone to play with!
In addition, the winner of each category will receive the Contest Winner and Contributor in-game pins. Please note the theme listed on each card. This should be used as a general direction for the art. Full rules for the contest can be found at the end of the post.
List of Cards
Warp Control (BOOST) Next time you step on a warp panel, you are allowed to decide which warp panel to teleport to. Theme: Cook reading the wind.
My Wild Friends (BOOST) (Max 1). Summon a friendly Wild Unit unit onto the board and heal it to full. The summon will automatically engage enemies and can gain stars on winning, giving half of the stars gained to the summoner. Theme: Teotoratta playing with wild animals.
Contest of Cuteness (BATTLE) (Max 1). The battle is decided by whoever has the highest cuteness. The winner steals stars equal to 5x the loser's level. Cuteness = 11 - (HP + ATK-EVD) Theme: Sham and Saki striking their cute poses in competition with each other.
Rebellion (EVENT) For 3 chapters, every other player will receive +1 ATK, +1 DEF and +1 EVD when fighting the player currently in first place. Theme: Free theme related to Flying Red Barrel.

Nanako's Bit (GIFT) (Max 1). Randomly receive +1 ATK, DEF or EVD the start of battle while this card is held, and lose 7 stars. This card is discarded upon KO or use. Theme: Another character using Nanako's Bit for something.
Detailed card descriptions are subject to change.
Contest Rules
Create a new piece of artwork ("Entry") that you feel fits the game 100% Orange Juice and the theme of the chosen new Card (see the list above).
Submission period: Until July 12 2023, 23:59 PST.
Entries must be added to the Artworks section of 100% Orange Juice community hub, with the tag #100OJcommunitypack and name of the Card, and mailed to support@fruitbatfactory.com with the subject "100% Orange Juice Community Card Pack Contest" according to detailed instructions above.
Artwork should be square in shape, or made with the consideration that a square area from it will be used in the Card.
Entry minimum size is 512x512 pixels.
Entries must be original and not contain any copyrighted material and must adhere to Steam Community guidelines. They may not contain purposeful references outside the Orange Juice games.
AI generated submissions are not accepted in any category. Such entries will be disqualified, and if a winning entry was found to be created using AI afterwards, the placement will be revoked.
Multiple Entries are permitted, as well as Entries for several Cards.
Text is permitted on the artwork, in the same fashion as it is currently used in some cards.
A minimum of one artwork will be chosen for each Card to be used in the game when the Community Card Pack is added.
Fruitbat Factory reserves the right to not use any of the Entries for a given Card, if they deem none of the submissions are appropriate for it.
Winners will be credited in the Game Info section of the game launcher, as well as on the Card itself, as with existing cards (only after such an update where the Community Card Pack is added to the game).

We hope to see many cool artworks again! Remember that with the addition of Steam WorkShop support, it will be easier than ever for all entries to be added to the game, whether they win or not, and we encourage creators to list their works there once the cards have been added!
Thank you everyone who participated in our Unconventional Art Contest! It was fun to do something different, and we received some very imaginative entries! The judging was very tricky, but in the end winners emerged!
Many of the entries included more footage than we can easily present here, so we've chosen just 1 image to represent them. We encourage all participants to also share their works on social media!
The prizes:
1st place: Plushie of your choice + in-game contest winner pin!
2nd-3rd place: Plushie of your choice!
4th-10th place: Fruitbat Factory game or DLC of choice (some restrictions apply)
The winners will be e-mailed about their prize (if you win, you can also reply to your entry email to speed it up).
Without further ado, let's get to the winners! We are showcasing or linking to them the best we can, despite all the different formats.

As part of the 2 Million Download festivities, we're happy to announce a new kind of community fan art contest that's open to everyone!
This time we're not looking for drawn art, but... anything else! Handicraft, music, live performances, animation, sculptures - if you think it's art, it passes!
The arts will all be judged in 3 separate categories:
Outside of the Box (thinking)
Best Integration of Oranges
Inspirational
Entries won't need to be submitted to any particular category, and it will be up to the judges to pick which ones are the best fit for each.
Since this contest is meant for any art that would not fit our traditional fan art contests, we are not accepting digital illustrations or illustrations drawn on paper this time.
We hope to see some fun entries with this new contest format!
The art contest is now open until May 31, 23:59 PST.
Prizes!
10 entries will win in each category!

Art can be submitted any number of times.

Multiple Entries are permitted, but only one Entry from a single contestant may be selected as a winning piece in any category.
Fruitbat Factory will pick the winners at their discretion.
Less than 10 entries may win in a category if there aren't sufficient high quality entries.

Welcome to the festivities! We're happy to announce a big celebration for 100% Orange Juice hitting 2 million game + DLC downloads thanks to all of your support!
During the 1 million download celebration we added a free new unit, Mio, to the game, and... you guessed it!
A new unit, Mio (Festive) is now available to all owners of Mio! To unlock her, you need to have played 5 games as Mio, and then clear the new Extra Mission, "Secret Santa", on normal or higher difficulty, while playing as Mio.
Izawa Shiori (Nanachi in "Made in Abyss", Pochita in "Chainsaw Man", Kafuru in "Senran Kagura") reprises her role as the wonderful voice for Mio (Festive)!
Her hyper is illustrated by Senca, and special card by Yulay Devlet!
Please enjoy getting rowdy with her!
Voices Have Been Liberated!
As the second major announcement, all character voices are now available for free to all players!
You no longer need to own the DLC to enjoy the characters' banter, even if you only own the base game and nothing more! This is something we've wanted to do for a long time to make the experience better for everyone, and after a lot of thought it's finally been implemented!
All base game's character announcers are also available for everyone, to give you a wide selection of great announcers! DLC characters' announcer voices are only available for owners of the DLC (apart from free character rotation).
As a result, we are retiring the following 3 DLC from the Steam store:
Starter Character Voice Pack
Core Voice Pack 1
Core Voice Pack 2
While you can no longer buy these 3 DLC soon (currently pending Steam removal), they continue giving direct unlock of the characters whose voices they contain, which otherwise can be unlocked by playing normally. In addition, to compensate everyone who's bought these DLC over the years, each of the DLC gives their owner a consumable item (so up to 3 total for owners of all DLC), which can be exchanged for either 500 oranges or 10.000 stars each in the in-game Shop!
Please note that there's a limit of 999 Oranges and 99.999 Stars that can held at once, so as to not waste your tokens!
In addition, the Game of the Year Every Year Edition has been updated to contain Pudding Pack, Breaker Pack and Wanderer Pack instead of the 3 voice packs, keeping its nominal value the same.
More Default Color Options!
To further improve the experience for all new players, we've added new default plate color options!
In addition, the base character color packs have been removed from the store, and are instead now available by default on all characters!
Contests!
To celebrate this momentous occasion, we're announcing 2 separate contests!
1 - Unconventional Art Contest!
Introducing a different kind of art contest! This time we're not looking for drawn art, but... anything else! Handicraft, music, live performances, sculptures - if you think it's art, it passes!
The arts will all be judged in 3 separate categories:
Outside of the Box (thinking)
Best Integration of Oranges
Inspirational
The winner of each category receives the Contest Winner in-game pin. The 1st to 3rd place winners in each category receive a plushie of their choice, and 4th to 10th place will receive a Fruitbat Factory game or DLC of their choice!
The competition is live immediately, and until the end of May! You can find full details on the separate contest announcement.
Submissions can be e-mailed to support@fruitbatfactory.com with the header "100% Orange Juice 2M Art Contest Submission"!
2 - Community Card Pack Art Contest!
We will be gathering submissions for a new Community Card Pack! This contest will go live in June, after the first art competition has ended. Competitors will be given the names and effects of upcoming cards, and are invited to come up with art that would fit them. Then cards are given flavor texts based on the winning art, and added to the game.
We can't thank you enough for your continued support! This is only the beginning of the festivities for the upcoming year, as we also have some big anniversaries coming up, and we plan to run more fun contests for them!
100% Orange Juice version 4.1.23 ~ Poppo's Chaos ~ is now live, and we're excited to share with you the massive changes it has in store!
Out with Chaos Mode, In with Poppo Mode!
Chaos Mode has now been permanently retired. Players who 100% completed it previously will receive the exclusive Piyo (Big) pin. In its place, please enjoy the brand new Poppo Mode! Choose from 50 different "Marie mutators" such as Poppo Tag, Dimensional Poppo, Poppoker, Poppo's Toolbox, and Poppo Painters!
Changes to Character Voices
We're thrilled to announce that due to expiring licenses, all character voice packs are being retired. Character DLC will soon be updated to remove their voice components as well.
Exciting AI Developments
After a long effort of discreetly collecting player behavior to train it, we were able to develop our own AI model, called K.AI. Unfortunately, after adding it to the game and tasking it to write a new card to add to the game, it instead played -32768 Final Battles, ate the pudding, rode Big the Jonathan out of bounds and declared itself the owner of the game world. We had to do some scrubbing, but we're fairly certain there are no traces of it left in the game.
Other changes
Added new Default Dance and Default Song for all characters.
Added crits! Players now have a random chance to double their attack rolls. The new "crit chance" stat has been added for all units, and many existing cards have been updated to include buffs/debuffs to crit chance.
Added the much-requested optional Light Mode.
Added a new "Sweets type" indicator, which can be found on the back of every Sweets type card.
Added new OJDex entries and pins for Piyo, Mikky Mousse, Dark Santa, and Puyo Puyo Mascot.
Added secondary color customization for Poppo's Bell, Mio's Flames, and Sweet Maker's Lollipops.
Wanted now gives triple wins in Bounty Hunt Mode.
Reworked Chicken's Hyper as the Golden Egg has finally hatched.
All maps are now available in all modes, so you can finally enjoy playing Poppo's Abyss with your friends!
The campaigns of the three starter characters, Suguri, QP and Marc, are now all immediately playable, rather than having to clear one campaign first.
Added the new "ahoge removal" cosmetics for Suguri, Suguri (Ver. 2), Suguri (46 Billion Years), and Saki.
Added the Spectator Chicken cosmetic customization.
Added the Left Handed Mode, which replaces the default game cursor with a left hand.
Removed the Popponese translation, as it was deemed to no longer be distinct from the English language.
Fixes
Fixed a bug allowing the player to roll multiple dice at once in Co-op Mode.
Fixed Bad Pudding not counting as a Sweets type card for some characters with different tastes.
Removed Sweet Creator from the game due to an inconsistency.
Store Manager now correctly takes discard damage from Bad Pudding, Flamethrower, and other similar effects.
Balance
Lowered Iru's base DEF to -1 (from 0)
Dev note: after evaluating Iru's performance, we decided to try something new to make her a bit more in line with where we want her to be.
Shifu Robo now has 0 REC (down from - REC) due to his poor performance in Bomber Jam.
Dev note: this one's just kind of self-explanatory.
Lowered Sumika's ATK to 0 to make it accurate to the plushie.
Dev note: well, she did turn out pretty soft, so this just seems appropriate.
Added a new passive for Marie Poppo: On Norma, draw a Hyper card.
Dev note: we were alerted to a distressing claim of a game Marie Poppo didn't win, so we felt we had to take some drastic action.
Thank you for another year of support! We hope you'll enjoy these great changes!
The long-awaited beta for the updated Bounty Hunt is here! Read below on instructions on how to opt in!
This time we are running the beta in two 2-week phases. The first one is now live! After the first beta period, we will collect feedback to implement potential phases for a 2nd phase before the eventual release into live version.
Changes
Starting with some of the core questing changes! Location shuffle now takes place every 7 chapters. In addition, a new Forecast button lets you preview where the field locations will move upon next shuffle. Further, after losing a bounty fight, players can rechallenge the bounty upon recovery, instead of moving. Passing a quest location while having duplicates of the same quest contract will now grant only one item instead of as many copies as the duplicate contracts you had.
New perks! Upon each Norma level up, players can choose one of 3 perks to permanently improve their stats or grant other bonuses.
These changes are intended to give players a clearer path of progression toward being able to take down harder bounties at higher levels, while making simple quest gathering a less efficient way to play the entire game.
A new PvP bounty system has been added! Defeating another player gives the players the Assassin's Badge item, which allows picking up Player Bounties from home panels. These bounties are hidden from other players. In addition, a public bounty is issued for such scoundrels, with a bounty that goes up for every KO they inflict, and which can be claimed by anyone who defeats them.
A new invader has been added: Lost Rogue! This dangerous new foe may be easier to defeat on paper, but the attempt carries great risk! Players may choose a specific invader, or leave it to be random from lobby options.
New items, and lots and lots of item rebalancing! Combat sweets now last for X battles, instead of X chapters, and are placed in the player's inventory upon purchase. They can be activated from there at will. Shop prices are now adjusted for some characters individually, rather than simply based on their stats.
A new special shop has been added: Shady Merchant. This elusive merchant may appear and offer you their powerful wares at high cost.
Summon characters now have speech bubbles!
...and more!
How to Join
To participate, go to the properties of 100% Orange Juice in your Steam Library, then BETAS page -> select "beta - Public Beta" from the dropdown menu.
Progress in the beta version is separate from your main save and will not interfere with that when you return to the normal game build.
