Introducing Kala
Evolve’s newest Support character is now available!

Dr. Kala Kapur is an expert on Monster biology and has spliced their DNA into her own genome in order to control the Monsters’ abilities and use them in battle.

Her array of unique abilities include:
Siren Missiles

An improvement on Kraken technology, these airborne missiles home in on nearby enemies. When placed on the ground, they become more powerful, slower moving homing mines

Teleport Pads
An improvement on Wraith technology, these pads create rifts that allow teammates to move instantaneously from one part of the map to another;
Armor Reducer
Using Goliath’s armor technology, the Armor Reducer shoots a beam which temporarily eliminates the Monster’s armor. The armor quickly regenerates once the beam connection breaks.

Kala is now available on all platforms and in all regions, available individually or as part of Hunting Season 2, which also includes Gorgon (Monster), Lennox (Assault class), Jack (Trapper class) and Emet (Medic class).

Evolve Stage 2 - KaliShane
E.M.E.T. drones are used throughout the galaxy whenever disaster strikes and injured people need medical attention. They are reliable medical techs but not very good in battle situations, so Jack shoved a death commando logic core into this one!

It totally works! Heals like a medical drone, fights like a demon drone. Awesome!

Also, a little insane. Super awesome!



EMET
REPLAY CANNON
The Replay Cannon fires an explosive dart that tags a target and rapidly fires several homing missiles at that target.

HEALING BUOYS
Healing Buoys can be deployed in the field to regenerate health for nearby allies. When Emet uses his medic Heal Burst, a more powerful burst erupts from the buoys.

RESPAWN BEACON
The Respawn Beacon teleports Hunters directly from the dropship, reducing respawn times to a mere 30 seconds! If the Monster destroys the beacon before the countdown finishes, the Hunters must wait for the dropship.

TWO MORE FREE HUNTER ADAPTATIONS!

Coming soon, two more new Hunter adaptations are coming to Evolve, free to those who own the game. Wasteland Maggie and Tech Sgt. Hank on their way to Shear!


WASTELAND MAGGIE



Take classic Maggie, add a pinch of Griffin and a dash of Hyde and you’ll get Wasteland Maggie. Fire damage has been added to all her gear, including a flamethrower for Daisy!!! She only has a single harpoon trap, but it’s got big range and a quicker deploy speed. It’s sort of like having a deployable Griffin, only this one burns!

BURST PISTOL
The Burst Pistol spews short bursts of fire molten bullets, lighting enemies on fire and dealing damage over time.

FLAME SNARE
The Flame Snare not only halts a monster’s movement, it lights it on fire!

COMBAT TRAPJAW FLAMETHROWER
The Combat Trapjaw’s flamethrower backpack roasts Monsters that get too close.


TECH SGT. HANK



Tech Sergeant Hank’s strength is his ability to prepare his team for combat. Personal shields can be charged onto all teammates before battle. Though his in combat shielding strength is weaker than classic Hank’s, nothing makes a monster cut and run more quickly than the relentless killing machine that is the Orbital Drill.

LASER CUTTER
The Laser Cutter projects a continuous laser beam that deals damage over time.

SHIELD CHARGER
The Shield Charger can give any teammate a temporary shield. The longer the charger is fired, the stronger the shield. Now all teammates can head into battle with personal shields!

ORBITAL DRILL
The Orbital Drill is a satellite that fires a death beam from space! The beam automatically tracks nearby enemies, scorching anything that it touches. There is no better way to force a monster off a kill.

We’re very excited to announce that Evolve will be playable for free this weekend on PC. You can experience everything Evolve has to offer: Four Monsters, 18 Hunters across four unique classes, five game modes, 19 maps, and the newly released Hunt 2.0 - all playable for free this weekend. Following the free weekend, players that purchase the game will retain the progress they earn in the base game (not DLC unlocks).

Windows PC free weekend begins at 12:00 PM PDT on September 3, 2015 and ends at 10:00 AM PDT on September 7, 2015.

Do you already own Evolve?

Also this weekend, all Evolve players can experience the currently available DLC characters for free on PC.

Starting at 12:01 AM PDT on September 4, 2015 all Evolve players will gain access to the playable characters included in Evolve Hunting Season 1 and the playable Behemoth Monster for 24 hours. Starting at 12:01 AM PDT on September 5, 2015, all Evolve players will gain access to the available playable characters from Evolve Hunting Season 2 for 24 hours.

More new content is available in Evolve starting today, including a new Hunter, a new free map for Arena Mode matches, and Hunt 2.0, which introduces significant improvements to the matchmaking, user experience, and revamped leaderboards while playing Hunt mode.

Evolve’s newest Hunter, Jack (Trapper), joins the team with an all-new set of abilities and weapons. Jack, who refers to himself as The Jackal, scrounged the industrial ruins to build his trapper arsenal. To pack a punch, Jack dual wields a pair of pistols, enabling him to reload one pair while firing the other. To track and trap the Monster, Jack uses a hacked Survey Satellite to locate enemies and his Repulsor gloves to stop the Monster in its tracks.

A new map provides a fresh take on Arena Mode, free of charge. Murder Pits is a giant pit-fighting stadium designed exclusively for Arena Mode.

We’re excited to introduce Hunt 2.0, which includes significant improvements to the matchmaking, user experience, and revamped leaderboards while playing Hunt mode. This mode was built in part on desires expressed by the Community. Specific new features introduced in Hunt 2.0 include:

- You can now play exclusively as Monster or Hunter;
- You will never join a match in progress;
- Improved matchmaking that incorporates skill level;
- Revamped leaderboards that divide players among five divisions, with tiered rankings within each division.

Improvements to Observer Mode

You’re going to want to capture all those incredible gameplay moments with this new update. As such, after reading all the feedback we’ve received, we’ve made some major improvements to Observer Mode. This mode now includes information such as when Trapper has Domed the Monster and a minimal mode for an improved viewing experience. A complete list of improvements can be found in the Patch 5.0 Notes.



Core Gameplay Balance Improvements

This is one of the biggest balance patches Evolve has ever had. Like many other features this update, we’ve worked hard to address feedback and develop creative new ways to enhance gameplay in Evolve. This update, the meta is Evolving (pun intented).

- One of Evolve’s biggest balance patches with changes to Monster abilities and Hunter jetpacks.
- Improved, fast-deploying domes!
- Major changes to some of the Community favorites such as Bucket and Torvald coupled with an improved Behemoth.

The battle for Shear is back with The Beard and The Brains Support Challenge Weekend, featuring Cabot and Hank.

If the community wins 25,000 games with Hank, everyone who plays this weekend will get the Hank Predator skin absolutely free.

Rather have Cabot watching your team’s back? No problem! Win 25,000 games with Cabot, and – you guessed it – everyone who plays this weekend snags the Cabot Predator skin for free.

Aim high! Get both free! Hit both goals this weekend and everyone that plays this weekend earns the Hank and Cabot Predator skins.

THE BRIEFING

This weekend, between 12:01 AM ET on Friday, June 26 and 12:01 AM ET on Monday, June 29, wins with Hank or Cabot count towards the challenge. If teams with Hank win a total of 25,000 games, everyone who plays between those days and times will earn the Hank Predator skin shown above, absolutely free. AND if teams with Cabot win a total of 25,000 games, everyone who plays between those days and times will earn the Cabot Predator skin shown above, absolutely free. If both goals are met, both skins will be rewarded.

Things to remember…

1) You don’t have to play as Hank or Cabot, you just need to have one of them in the match, so encourage your Support friends to play as Hank or Cabot this weekend to earn wins towards the challenge goal.

2) Reach the Hank goal, and the community scores the Hank Predator skin. Reach the Cabot goal, and the community earns the Cabot Predator skin.

3) Everyone who plays Evolve contributes to the challenge, whether you play online or solo. Just make sure your console is online and connected to the game server so we can track the data for the challenge!

The winning skin will be rewarded by Thursday July 2.

Evolve's fourth Assault character, Lennox, is now available! She is the first Hunter in Evolve to feature a melee attack. Her ‘Thunderchild’ mechanized suit is equipped with a Plasma Lance that deals massive amounts of damage in close combat, while her Autocannon and Thunder Strike attack allow Lennox to fight when outside of melee range.

Hello, Hunters!

We’ve just rolled out a new hotfix/micropatch (2.3.8 PC) for Evolve, which contains a number of tweaks and balances.

Check out the details below for the full breakdown on what’s included.

PC HOTFIX GENERAL

o General fixes for AI map traversal

MONSTERS

Kraken

o Kraken will now descend when hit with a tranq, dart, or harpoon even when using abilities.

Behemoth

o More fixes to holes in Rock Wall

o Fixed a crash when using Tongue Grab

o Fixed a server crash when using Fissure

HUNTERS

General

o Knockbacks and Tumbles

o Added a cap to knockback velocity

o Added a hard cap to how long you can be “locked down” and set it at .75 seconds.

o After this time is up the player will regain the ability to jetpack, use abilities and shoot thought they still may be affected by any momentum caused by the intital knockback or tumber. (Hint: Jetpack Dodging will correct the momentum velocity)

o The player will regain full control when the knockback velocity matches or is less than the base speed of the Hunter.

o Changed the way in which the momentum and velocity is applied to the Hunters when a knockback or tumble is applied.

o It should be far harder for the Monster to “juggle” the player as the direction is now not the same direction that the attack came from but is now calculated by the direction of the attack and the direction the Hunter is moving.

Cabot

o Fixed Damage Amps Aim functionality

MICROPATCH (ALL PLATFORMS)

HUNTERS

General

o Fixed the Quick Reload Perk and Elite Wildlife Buff to reduce the time to reload rather than increase it :(

o Jetpack fuel is no longer used when airborne and moving a direction but not thrusting (previously used 1.5% per second.) This fixes Hunter burning jetpack fuel while in a knockdown state.

o Jetpack fuel recharges at 7% per second (was 7.5% oer second.) Essentially takes ~1 second longer to fully recharge from empty to compensate so that Hunters cover the same amount of distance in the same amount time.

Markov

o Arc Mines damage increase to 550 from 500

Torvald

o Mortar Cannon reload time increased from 4.5 seconds to 6 seconds

Val

o Heal Burst recharge time reduced to 20 seconds from 22

o Tranquilizer duration reduced to 8 seconds to 10 seconds

Slim

o Leech Gun accuracy is no dynamic like Abe’s shotgun. Works at long range if you slow your fire rate.

o Heal Burst effectiveness on incapped players increased to 302 health from 275

o Heal Burst effectiveness on alive players increased to 220 health from 200

o Heal Burst effectiveness on himself increased to 192 health from 175

MONSTERS

Kraken

o Reduced health at Stage 2 and 3

— Stage 2 Health now 11500 was 12000

— Stage 3 Health now 16000 was 17000

Behemoth

o Reduced the movement speed reduction when Harpooned while in a roll to 25%. Was 50%.

o Stamina use during the roll has been reduced to 6% per second from 6.5% per second

o Initial Stamina user when activating the roll has been reduced to 10% from 15%

Wraith

o Reduced Warp Blast’s Radius

—Level 1 is now 6 meters from 6.5

— Level 2 is 7.8 meters from 8.5

— Level 3 is 10 meters from 11

o Monster Climb Speed increased to 75% from 50%

Last weekend, the Bucket brigade blasted Monsters with over 300,000,000 points in Sentry Gun damage. This was enough to earn all that played during the weekend the Bucket Predator skin set.

Now, it’s personal. The upcoming weekend challenge squares Hyde against Wraith. It’s a guaranteed skin throw down challenge for everyone that plays this weekend. Who comes out on top? Will it be the hot-headed Hunter or the lightning-quick Monster?

That’s up to you to decide.



MELTING THE MANY FACES OF WRAITH

This weekend, between 12:01 AM ET on Friday, April 24 and 12:01 AM ET on Monday, April 27, all games with Hyde and Wraith in the lineup, count towards the challenge, with a free skin for the character with the higher versus win percentage. If Hyde earns the higher win percentage the community scores the Hyde Predator skin shown above absolutely free. If Wraith earns the higher win percentage, the community earns the Wraith Voodoo skin, also shown above absolutely free.

Remember, you don’t have to play as Hyde or Wraith to participate, just get in and play this weekend to qualify, and if Hyde and Wraith are in your game, that game will count towards the weekends win percentage war.

The winning skin will be rewarded by Thursday April 30.
