Sometimes you need a hand to hold, so we ve compiled a list of the 25 best co-op games to play on PC with a headset-wearing friend or a muted stranger.

Whether solving puzzles, sneaking, shooting zombies or stabbing mythical creatures in the face, the existence of another player adds an element of unpredictability. The reality of your co-op partner constantly alerting the guards is drowned out by the experience in your head – the synchronised stealth takedowns, the perfectly executed plan – but both success and failure are more compelling when you can take credit for the former and blame someone else for the latter.

There is a co-op game for every duo and our selection includes a variety of the most bestest. Don t worry if your favourite co-op game doesn t feature – it just means you re wrong. All mortals are, on occasion. … [visit site to read more]

This is still showing up on my logged-in front page at the time of writing

Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5 [official site] has made an appearance in the Steam Summer Sale. But the ensuing discussion is less “let’s all go a-heisting” and more “what is this shady nonsense you’re trying to pull?” I thought I’d take a peek and see what was going on.

Travis Touchdown, is that you?

I have few desires in life. I’m content as long as I have a swimsuit, somewhere cold to swim, a cool leather jacket, and a sweet neck tattoo. I earned enough to fulfil my every dream in Grand Theft Auto Online [official site] within a couple of hours. Perhaps you want more. Perhaps it’s never enough. Perhaps you want everyone to see how much money you have, and how little taste.

In that case: good news! Rockstar have two releases of expensive cars, guns, and other tacky garbage coming to GTA Online, starting next week. Hideous gold helicopter, anyone?

Just a spot of friendly grappling.

As cool ways to get around go, grappling hooks are up there with skateboards and motorbikes. Unlike boards and bikes, however, the super-rad accidents grappling hooks cause won’t have you lose significant patches of your skin. Not your own, anyway.

You can now grapple around San Andreas to your hearts’ content in Just Cause 2 style, swinging to buildings and tying vehicles together, thanks to a mod for Grand Theft Auto V [official site].

Our Graham was the one to post about the BBC making a “factual drama” about the Grand Theft Auto series and Jack Thompson’s crusade against video games, perhaps because I could only frame my response as a series of contorted facial expressions. But no, really, they are doing it, and it’ll star Daniel Radcliffe and Bill Paxton. Well, if they don’t get shut down.

Take Two Interactive, the owners of GTA makers Rockstar Games, have filed a lawsuit against the BBC for trademark infringement. See, they’re none too pleased that they haven’t been consulted.

Yeah, the writing on the gun is backwards. WHAT.

Yes, alright, well done Rockstar. You’ve made a massive open world filled with dozens of scripted stories, activities ranging from deep sea diving to golfing, plus UFOs to summon, cars to tow, and much more. Sure, fine.

But where’s the ability to fly? Where are the telekinetic powers? Where’s the mode that causes all the pedestrians to become psychotically violent and armed to the teeth? Why can’t I drive> the trains?

The modding community answers all these queries with an emphatic “hello there” and a dangerous disregard for sense, reason and logic. I’ve dived into the fast growing archives of GTA5-Mods.com to find the very best on offer.

When the PC port of GTA V [official site] was announced last year, I hoped we’d see a version of the console mod (yes, really) which flooded the world. This has arrived. Or they have. Several different mods are now draining and flooding San Andreas, letting you walk amongst dry corals or diving down to sunken streets. The absurdity and wonder of it all is quite something. Come see.

iCEnhancer is probably the best Grand Theft Auto mod going. Or if not that then it’s at least the kind of mod that doubles as Essential Viewing In Tech Porn: It did some incredible things to Grand Theft Auto 4, bringing in this astounding sleekness to a then six-year-old game. So the big news is the mod is coming to Grand Theft Auto 5 [official site].

Imagine if criminals became bored of crimes. No more robbery, no more murder, no more rob-o-murders, and a load of former perps playing tennis and swimming in mountain pools together. Oh, what a world! But for players of GTA Online [official site], becoming bored of crimes sounds awful.

Dearest friends and sweetest murderers, cherish your crimes. Don’t treat them as chores to rush through. Relish the time they allow you to spend with friends, high on adrenaline. You see, it sounds like it’ll be a while before any more Heists arrive. Other multicrime bits are coming, though.
