The Cascadia® is the most advanced on-highway truck Freightliner has ever offered; and today we are excited to announce its arrival in American Truck Simulator. Available to purchase from your local in-game dealership, the Freightliner comes with numerous customisation options.
Its virtual implementation in our game also includes a wide array of configurations including 12 chassis variants, 14 engine choices, 13 transmissions, 4 different cabin types, 4 interior trim options, and loads of other customization options. Whatever journey you have in mind, there will be a Cascadia® ready for the job! As a bonus, we are also including a unique paintjob as seen on Freightliner's promotional videos. This is available for the ownable 53' box trailers.
Bringing this iconic truck to the virtual roads of American Truck Simulator wouldn't have been possible without the help of the team at Freightliner Trucks, who has helped us recreate the Cascadia® in great detail. A big thank you, of course, goes to all those involved in this project here at SCS Software, from the very first contact to creating the 3D models, interiors, texturing, bug testing, and more, it wouldn't be possible without you!
We were also provided with the opportunity to rent an imported Freightliner Cascadia® and record the needed sounds for a day. You can watch a video of our recording session here! The generosity and collaboration of all companies involved have allowed this project to progress to where it is today.
The Freightliner Cascadia® arrives as a free DLC add-on for every owner of the American Truck Simulator. Find the latest update on your Steam Client (which may require a restart for some users) to receive this new addition to your library.
Be sure to share your first journey on the virtual roads with Freightliner Trucks (Twitter, Instagram) and us (Twitter, Instagram) using the hashtag #MyCascadia. We can't wait for you take a drive of for yourself.
Today, the nominations for the annual Steam Awards are opening, along with the start of the Steam Autumn Sale. You may still remember that back in 2016, our incredible #BestCommunityEver was so active during the first year of Steam Awards, that our Euro Truck Simulator 2 managed to claim victory in two categories.
However, time flies, a lot of fantastic games have been added to the Steam library over the years, and many of them have rightfully accumulated massive fan-bases as well. Meanwhile, Valve adjusted the rules such that titles launched before 2019 can now be nominated in only one category - The Labour of Love, a category that reflects that a game still gets new updates and active support years after launch. This category will surely be very crowded! But still, we may give it a collective try, what do you think?
If you feel that either Euro Truck Simulator 2 or American Truck Simulator deserves the Labour of Love award, or possibly at least some buzz and visibility for being nominated and in the category, we will appreciate your vote and support. You can cast your vote by heading to this year's Steam Awards Nomination Page.
It took our #BestCommunityEver only 7 days to drive 60,000,000 miles in the currently ongoing #CruisingColorado World of Trucks event to pass the community goal. We are left speechless once again. Actually, you guys and gals have reached it so quickly we might even ask you to show us your cabin logbooks to check if you have had your regular driving breaks?!
Don't worry, we're just joking here. But it's always cool and motivating to see how fast and easily our fanbase can smash the "quests" we set for them. And how many of you are always ready to immediately join the events we create for you. We also love seeing all your tweets and posts under the #CruisingColorado hashtag over at any social media challenge we monitor. Want some number? Well, so far there have been posted more than 1100 tweets on Twitter and 280 posts on Instagram!
According to the reactions and feedback upon the rewards which can be claimed in this event, for both personal and community goals, we guess you really like the new paint job and hanging cabin accessory. Don't forget to share how it fits your favorite truck, pals!
Even though we tried to explain it in our previous blog posts and communication over at our social media channels, we still have received some questions about the date till when this event is going to be kept active, or requests to not end this event even while the community goal is already reached. So please let us say it again here - you do not need to worry, because we will keep the event running until well after Christmas, so there will be plenty of time to relax and enjoy the ride while earning your rewards.
Over the past weekend, we put out a teaser video hinting at a new and upcoming truck that will arrive for American Truck Simulator. Many of our avid fans have immediately identified the make and model of the truck. The hype is real; with the awesome support from Daimler Trucks North America, you will soon get to drive the most popular truck on US' roads!
Introducing the Freightliner Cascadia® for American Truck Simulator
To quote Freightliner's sales literature, "The Cascadia® is the most advanced on-highway truck Freightliner has ever offered. With more than one million hours of R&D and millions of miles of real-world testing, the Cascadia® is the result of sustained, concentrated investment in the future of trucking. Advanced aerodynamics help it slice through the air and boost fuel efficiency. Freightliner reimagined the Cascadia® interior, starting with the dashboard, which features an all-new instrument cluster and automotive-style steering wheel controls and switch placement, to meet driver needs. The Cascadia® is offered with the Integrated Detroit™ Powertrain, which integrates the most fuel-efficient DD15® and DD13® engines ever designed with the technologically advanced DT12™ On-Highway Series transmissions and specifically engineered Detroit™ steer and high-speed ratio tandem axles for optimal, efficient performance."
You will soon be able to experience the Freightliner Cascadia® for yourself from one of your local in-game dealerships!
Some of our hyper-perceptive fans have also noticed the DD15® engine note in our teaser too. If you were curious about how we managed to find a Cascadia® for a sound-recording session, despite the ongoing COVID restrictions, wonder no more! On the tightest of deadlines, our Licensing Manager was able to find and contact Transportbotschafter in Germany, who provided us with the opportunity to rent an imported Freightliner Cascadia® for a day. Have a look at some of the photos they took of the session 3 weeks ago!
If a picture speaks a thousand words, how about a video too?
Be sure to follow our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) for more screenshots and content before the release.
Freightliner® is a trademark of Daimler Trucks North America LLC and is used under license to SCS Software s.r.o.

With the Colorado DLC releasing tomorrow, November 12th, we'd like to celebrate by inviting you all to take part in our latest World Of Trucks event - Cruising Colorado! We know many of you are as excited as we are to visit this beautiful Rocky Mountain state with its breathtaking views and historic places, and we are delighted to announce that this event will reward drivers who contribute to Colorado's local economy and industries.
We are asking our #BestCommunityEver to achieve the community goal of driving 60,000,000 miles (96,560,640 km) while delivering cargoes to or from any city in Colorado. It doesn't matter what you haul, gold mining supplies, wind turbine parts, lumber, food, beverages, it all counts, every last delivery! And, of course, you can use your own trailer during all of this in the external market!
Our Colorado DLC offers 13 fantastic and unique cities that we really want you to visit. So, we're offering a special reward for completing your personal goal, which will require you to deliver a job to or from each of them. All jobs for the event need to be 100 miles each (161 km) or more, so be sure to read the rules.
We will keep the event running until well after Christmas, so there will be plenty of time to relax and enjoy the ride while earning your rewards.
As you are #CruisingColorado and adding up the job miles, we guarantee there will be new experiences for you like never before. Not to mention, we have included many new viewpoints, offering handcrafted cinematic views, highlighting the attractions of that area.
Visit the Four Corners Monument, the only point in the United States shared by four states.
Take a drive through Wolf Creek Pass, located deep in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado.
Drive over Red Cliff Bridge, a steel arch bridge that crosses over a beautiful valley.
Truck along the I-70, a major east-west Interstate Highway that passes through Glenwood Canyon.
Take a job from Denver International Airport, the 5th busiest airport in the U.S. and home of famous Blucifer.
Colorado, Nil sine numine (Nothing without providence), is our latest addition to American Truck Simulator. Know that as you wind down your cab window and settle in for the long haul, we'll be right there, cruising with you in spirit. We can't wait to hear your thoughts about this incredibly beautiful, mountainous, triumphant, epic, and historic state.

In a recent blog post, we released a gameplay video from our up and coming Colorado DLC for American Truck Simulator, which showcased a beautiful drive from Denver to Grand Junction. But, did you notice something about the truck we were driving?
Dedicated fans who have played our truck simulator titles as far back as the early 2000s may have recognized that the Kenworth W900 was sporting a familiar paint job from one of our earlier titles, Hard Truck: 18 Wheels of Steel.
Believe it or not, it has been 18 years since we released Hard Truck: 18 Wheels of Steel (August 2002), but that is not all. Denver, Colorado was also the starting location for all new truckers beginning their trucking life in Hard Truck: 18 Wheels of Steel. It's amazing to see how far we've come and we are excited to once again re-visit Denver in our current American Truck Simulator title.
To celebrate this occasion, we wanted to reward our community with the Hard Truck Tribute Paint Job. This iconic flames design was available for the Kenworth W900 in Hard Truck: 18 Wheels of Steel and was a popular design among many drivers.
Every owner of the American Truck Simulator base game will be eligible to receive this paint job as a free gift, which will be available to use on all current truck models. To receive this special paint job, all you need to do is complete the following requirements:
Have your World of Trucks account connected to your American Truck Simulator game
Pick any external contracts in American Truck Simulator from any location of your choice, however, the job must be at least 500 miles long
Complete this external contract job
Claim your gift on your World of Trucks Event tab which can be found under 'My Page'
You will have until the 7th of February 2021, 23:59 UTC to claim this Hard Truck Tribute Paint Job. After that time, you will be no longer able to obtain this paint job.
So thank you, our #BestCommunityEver, for all of your incredible support! Whether you have been with us since our humble beginnings or just joined the trucking family recently, it means a lot to us and our team to have you a part of this journey. We look forward to many more years of life on the road with you, we still have a lot of exciting things in the pipeline for our trucking titles!
With the final touches being made to the Colorado DLC, we are excited to announce a release date for this colorful addition to American Truck Simulator.
Colorado will be released on the 12th of November 2020!
And if that announcement date hasn't got you excited enough, then we are sure that this video trailer showcasing Colorado will!
That is not all however, prior to Colorado's release, we will be hosting a very special release live-stream on the 12th of November, starting at around 15:00 CET. This stream will feature a variety of special guests involved in the creation of this DLC along with the possibility of a few extra surprises too. You can watch along live on the day at our official Twitch channel or on our Steam store page, don't miss out!
We also plan to bring a special World of Trucks in-game event with the release of this map expansion. Keep an eye out here on our blog for more information on how you can take part and how you can earn in-game rewards, next week.
The release of Colorado isn't the only BIG news, however! We are happy to share that owners of the Special Transport DLC will have 3 new routes to take on in our upcoming map expansion. These new routes are:
Denver Airport to Grand Junction
Sterling to Colorado Springs
Denver Train Depot to Gold Mine near Colorado Springs
[/b] [/list] Each journey will come with its own challenges. So make sure to adhere to the GPS advisor and speed limit which have been set out for you before your departure, as there is no room for mistakes!
If your excitement for Colorado is BIGGER than these loads, make sure to add it to your Steam Wishlist. And while you are at it, take a screenshot and it send it to us on Facebook,Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #ReadyForColorado. If you do, you could WIN a copy of Colorado that unlocks early access 3 hours before launch!
We thank you for your continued support and we can't wait for you to drive the roads of Colorado for yourself.
