Time for a Creation Contest!
Create a fanart, mods (or whatever creative thing you can think of!) and send a message showing your creation to our page via facebook, or using #EoECreationContest on twitter!
Winners will get a free nekaroo skin for the mount coming in chapter II!

(Following are the rules of the contest, if you want to read them (it's mostly legal stuff))

RULES
1. The promoter is: MIDGAR STUDIO whose registered office is at 168 Allée de l'Amérique Latine, 30000 Nîmes, FRANCE.
2. The competition is open to residents of the United States of America and Europe aged 13 years or over.
3. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
4. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
5. Closing date for entry will be March 19th 2019 at 11:59AM Central European Time. After this date no further entries to the competition will be permitted.
6. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.
7. The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the competition and these terms and conditions without notice in the event of a catastrophe, war, civil or military disturbance, act of God or any actual or anticipated breach of any applicable law or regulation or any other event outside of the promoter’s control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
8. The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.
9. The prize is as follows:

10. The prize is as stated, and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.
11. The winner will be notified by email and/or DM on Twitter or Facebook within 28 days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted or do not claim the prize within 14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
12. The promoter will notify the winner when and where the prize can be collected / is delivered.
13. The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the competition will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
14. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
15. The competition and these terms and conditions will be governed by French law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of France.

With the new chapter incoming, we dev are both stressed and eager. It’s not time to laze (but it is time for our penultimate dev introduction!) What are we up to? Wouldn’t you like to know ;)



“Majoric, I’m an animator at Midar Studio. I am the one who created the animations for the game, be it for characters or creatures. For me, animating Daryon was the most interesting, and the Nekaroos too because they are very cute.




At the moment, I am taking care of the animation of new mobs for the incoming update, and also worked on some of the cutscene!"

Chapter II of Edge of Eternity is coming March 6th 2019!

In the coming update, Daryon and Selene will have to confront the ghosts of their pasts and decade-old rivals as they try to reach the Priestess’ elusive master, Alpharius.

In their fight, they will come to rely on unlikely allies and unknowingly brush the surface of many mysteries that would have preferred untouched.
New monsters, new weapons, new quests, new characters… and a few surprises along the way.

- Improvements for the AMD vegetation bug, we did a workaround that work (but it diminish the precision so actually the generation is more patternized and less appealing than on NVIDIA cards but we are on the way of making it identical on both vendor cards but it will be on another patch)

- Fixed a bug that was making quality settings affecting the generation of lootable objects (trunks, ores, etc...)

- Fixed a bug that was making assets generated by the terrain flickering at lower vegetation settings

- Fixed a bug that was making multi quest markers (like in the last uralik quests) disappear when switching tracked quests or reloading a save

- Fixed a bug that could overlapse two different quest source markers together

Changelog:
- Improved CPU render thread performance by ~15%

- Optimized some parts of the game code resulting in a lot less "spikes" in the framerate, the game should feel smoother in general

- Vegetation setting will now also remove completely the presence of some vegetation assets based on the setting

- Improved GPU culling performance by ~15%

- Preliminary work for DirectX 12 and Vulkan support

- Improved the character controller it should now have better reactions to slopes and steps and is now smoothed independantly of the framerate (the characters should wobble less)

- Prevented an issue that would trigger a double Daryon when changing the leader

- Fixed a few battle auras issues

- Improved battle theme music

- Improved UI feedbacks in a general manner

- Added new UI feedback sounds

Introductions to the team are going well, and you are learning more and more about the dev and their work on Edge of Eternity! Now, it’s time to hear the thoughts of our talented music composer (and not all the musics are from Yasunori Mitsuda :p )



"Cédric Menendez, I’m in charge of audio for EoE (Music, SFX, Integration) and I compose most of the musics you will hear in game. For Edge of Eternity, I try to keep an old school RPG’s way of composing, with lot of melodies and emotions.



At the moment, I’m recording instruments for the second chapter of the game and mixing new soundtracks for the next update: Nekaroos, Farm, Cave, Old Herelsor and Dungeon to name a few.
I cannot wait for you to fight the final boss!"

Once again, it’s time to get up close and personal with one of the dev working on Edge of Eternity! What are we doing while you are all waiting for chapter 2? Certainly not knocking around, even if we do have very cute nekaroos 😉



My name is Pierre Raffali, I’m a programmer. Additionally, I’m also in charge of game-design for a part, and of the coordination in Midgar Studio.



I really liked working on coding the battle camera, that was a great challenge to overcome! But I still need to improve it if I want to convince you players :)



Currently, I’m polishing controls for the Nekaroos. Look forward to it!

We pushed a test patch that should improve performances of the game on middle and low end computers on the "Trunk" branch on steam (no password required), we would like to have feedbacks on the changes since a lot of things have changed internally and it may have broke things and/or not give the performance boost that we target to everyone, thanks a lot for your time!
