Welcome to the update of the GameGuru Enhanced Weapons Pack; bringing with it more top quality game-ready assets for your next game-making project. In addition to an amazing collection of weapons we have added four additional hand textures.
Instructions on how to change the arms/hand textures of the weapons can be found in the file "Docs\EAI Enhanced Weapon Pack DLC\EAI Enhanced Weapon Pack DLC README.txt".
We have also made small fixes to the weapon carries for NPCs so each of the weapons can now be held correctly by characters created with the built-in Character Creator.
Back in the main engine, we have been conducting a small focus group on one specific area of AI and using a level which amongst other things includes one of the weapons from this pack. The idea is to keep refining the scenario until the AI shown in the small level meets the approval of the community, and it's coming along very nicely. To join in, feel free to visit the thread here.
If you don't yet have the GameGuru Enhanced Weapons Pack DLC, we are currently running a promotion on Steam with a great discount. So there is no better time to buy and add some of the best weapons you will find in any game maker:
We bring you another update to one of our DLCs! This time it's the huge GameGuru Mega Pack 3, featuring improved Physically Based textures for metallic entities such as caster tables, bathtub, old bike, tin tray, and an antique radiator.
Back in the core product, we recently released a public preview build which features improved AI for soldiers and the feedback so far has been great. It's clear the community wants to see more sophisticated AI for characters and objects they drop in their levels, and we are happy to provide.
We'll continue to upgrade more entities to PBR assets in the background, and in the meantime, if you want to get your hands on the GameGuru Mega Pack 3 DLC, it's currently on promotion right now:
We are excited to bring you a new drone to the GameGuru Sci-Fi Mission to Mars Pack and this one is not an enemy, but a friend and ally. Until now, the count has been one player versus three drones, but this update shifts the balance a little in your favour with your very own golden drone.
With the addition of this forbidabble ally you can explore Mars or similar reddish planets with an extra degree of calm, safe in the knowledge this little flying friend will zoom ahead to do battle with your enemies. Modelled closely on the Golden Imp ally script from the Fantasy Pack, we felt it appropriate that this month of AI work should include a DLC update that added more 'thinking' into the mix.
In other GameGuru news, we are focusing on the much requested AI improvements to the engine. We are not finished with visual and performance requests, but AI has been overshadowed by the release of DirectX 11, PBR and large-scale optimizations, and we want to redress the balance a little. Keep an eye out for the next update which will infuse combatants with additional intelligence, and give the player something to think about!
If you don't yet have the GameGuru Sci-Fi Mission To Mars Pack DLC, we are currently running a promotion on Steam with a great discount, so there is no better time to buy and add an alien element to your game making collection. The discounted DLC is available here:
In addition to a mixed bag of fixes, tweaks, and improvements, we have listened to the community and are focusing all our efforts on enhancing the AI system for the next update. As GameGuru starts users off with a typical FPS combat scenario out of the box, this is the area we are focusing on first.
As many of you know, though there is a lot of AI potential buried in the LUA scripting universe, not a lot is exposed to the user who just wants to drag in a character and hit go. To this end we have created additional behaviors to the soldier AI script that is used by default on most of the stock characters you get with GameGuru.
Whereas before they could guard, follow paths and then pursue the player; they can now seek cover positions properly, run faster when getting to a distant point and even roll out of the way if shot at. They can also crouch when they reach cover, and break from cover when the player gets too close. Put two soldiers in the same area, and each will select different cover positions to potentially flank the player, creating a much more dynamic combat theatre. We could also add new behaviors such as jumping over obstacles and shooting from around corners, but we felt it prudent to fully explore the areas of finding cover and avoiding shots from the player as these are the key attributes to making a soldier harder to hit and demand more skill from the player. You can also appreciate as this is a completely open game maker, with the ability to create a dizzying array of different scene layouts, it makes sense to make sure these two key factors are working fine before taking on entirely new behaviors.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6FGN9qTtDLU This short video demonstrates some of the new AI behavior released in today's GameGuru update. At timestamp 0:03 you can see the nearest enemy running for cover. Later at 0:10 we break cover to chase down the player that ducked back behind the pillar. At 0:14 the second enemy uses a crouch dash to get closer to the player for more effective fire, and later on at 0:27 an enemy rolling out of the way when under fire.
At each encounter, the basic trick of the enemy AI is to keep moving, causing the player to adjust their firing line and keeping the game-play flowing.
We continue to work on these AI elements, but you can give them a test run right now by switching your version of GameGuru to the Public Preview Build via Steam properties dialog and letting us know what you think, and if you have created a scenario that requires a more refined control over cover locations. We look forward to seeing what you create from this additional AI.
As the enemies improve in intelligence, you will probably want better weapons to equip the player with, and it just so happens we have some of the best weapons you will find in any game maker. When you are starting your next FPS combat game, definitely check out this pack:
Welcome to the second update of the GameGuru Construction Site Pack, bringing with it more top quality game-ready assets for your next game-making project. In addition to the huge collection of construction props, you now get a cargo container, rusty old skip, extra concrete blocks, and a well-battered cement mixer.
Back in the main engine, we have been looking closer at the AI system to see where we can make improvements that will benefit everyone. As we move away from the reliance on stock assets and towards the improved ability to import custom character models, we needed a way to control those characters within a GameGuru level, and AI plays a big role in how that is accomplished.
Right now we have a character imported from Fuse Character Creator that can walk around, idle, detect the player, path find and perform a freeze attack on them, all through a modified AI script in development. This script and model will be made available in the next update, along with some other nice surprises which we will reveal soon.
If you don't yet have the GameGuru Construction Site Pack DLC, we are currently running a promotion on Steam with a great discount, so there is no better time to buy and add an abandoned work site or scrapyard area to your next level:
We bring you another update to one of our DLCs! This time from GameGuru Mega Pack 1, the pack which brings you Arabic Old Town scenery, Industrial assets and the Mystic Library for your game building needs. In this update we bring more PBR textures to elements from the Mystic Library with 4 bookcases, a chair, decorative objects, a chandelier and a world globe.
Back in the main product, we are looking closer at supporting a new model format, the very modern and exciting GLTF v2.0 format which you will find springing up over the last few years, including popular asset stores such as SketchFab. More news on this as it happens, and we look forward to giving you more powers to import the models you want for your next game making project.
We'll continue to upgrade more entities to PBR assets in the background, and in the meantime, if you want to get your hands on the GameGuru Mega Pack 1 DLC, it's currently on promotion right now:
We wanted to make sure you have everything you need to create a great combat game, and so part of your toolkit should be the ability to create areas of your level that shields you and your enemies from each other, and what better way than some portable metal walls. In this update to the GameGuru Death Valley pack we have enhanced them with PBR textures to get them closer to that metallic look you need for your game visuals.
Meanwhile back in the core engine, we continue to look for ways to improve your visuals, and you may be interested to learn a very cool trick which allows you to make manual cubemaps for entity reflections, ideal for enclosed areas such as rooms and corridors. You can find more by visiting the forum link and video tutorial created by GraPhiX here: https://forum.game-guru.com/thread/219897#msg2605256
We'll continue to create more PBR assets in the background, so watch this space for more graphics content news. In the meantime, if you want to get your hands on the GameGuru Death Valley DLC, it's currently on promotion right now by following this link:

We bring you another update to one of our DLCs! This time from the huge GameGuru Mega Pack 2 - featuring improved PBR textures for 10 items including castle walls, towers and other buildings. By converting these items to fully Physically Based Rendered assets, we are gradually bringing our legacy non-PBR assets into the 21st century.
Back in the main product, we have just released a public preview of the latest build, which includes some key fixes from the last monster update which should make your game-making life a little smoother. We continue to work hard on the core of the engine and, for the next major feature work, we are looking hard at the A.I system. For scripters, it's quite powerful already, but for those who want to drop in a behaviour and go, we could do with some more options, so look out for those plus more core improvements in the next series of public preview updates.
We'll continue to upgrade more entities to PBR assets in the background and, in the meantime, if you want to get your hands on the GameGuru Mega Pack 2 DLC, it's currently on promotion right now:
