Ask the person nearest to you how they feel about goats. It is unlikely they will say they dislike goats, because humankind tends to look fondly on goatkind (if they did dislike goats, would they admit it?). Sometimes it feels like there are too few goats though, and that s where video games and charity come into the equation: by donating to goat-themed charity Heifer International, you will not only contribute a real life goat to farmers in need, but you will also receive two goat-themed computer games for your efforts.
Heifer is a charity which provides animals and training so that poor farmers around the world can make better lives for themselves their children and their communities. Not all the animals they deal in are necessarily goats, but for a limited time users can donate a minimum of $20 in order to receive Steam codes for Goat Simulator and Escape Goat 2.
You can donate and get your goat games by selecting one of twelve goats, all with their own price tier, on the Heifer website.

While our response to Goat Simulator was lukewarm, we did make the effort to ask an actual goat farmer what they thought of the game. As far as Escape Goat 2 is concerned, well, we've got our own PC Gamer level. I guess that's an endorsement.

One of the worst things that could happen in Goat Simulator is for there to be too few goats. The new Goat Simulator 1.1 update will preemptively strike against this terror with the promise that new goats will be added. There is a reason you are playing Goat Simulator after all: you want to be around goats.

Patch notes aren't the most exciting texts in the world but the Goat Simulator 1.1 patch notes are very interesting. They detail actual improvements, such as the addition of local splitscreen multiplayer and a new map, but they also include such zingers as "Deadmau5 has finally left EDM. Is now making Goatronica" (this isn't true, by the way!). There's also going to be a Minecraft mini-game, because there is no actual reason why there shouldn't be a Minecraft mini-game.

Other key additions include the ability to wallrun ("stand by for Goatfall") and a lot of "buckets of optimisation", but in all seriousness you'd be better off reading the full patch notes yourself. Honestly. The patch is available June 4.

From a design perspective, elaborating on Goat Simulator's features seems impossible. It has everything: goats; tongue-based physics; big, pretty score numbers; goats; a reckless disregard for property value. Still, Coffee Stain isn't yet done with the glory of goat, as a free 1.1 update hits June 3 with a new map, wall running, and local multiplayer support. From the recesses of the "just because" portion of the team's crazy minds comes another addition to the incoming patch: Minecraft with goats.

Coffee Stain hasn't given any details on how exactly sticking a sandbox construction game inside a game about a silly goat will work, but the screenshots suggest basic building capability using grass block types and the introduction of a Minecraft-ized goat character. That's pretty much the extent of my analysis, because the notion of an immortal goat pushing cubes together before somersaulting into a speeding truck is just enough abstraction to send me to the therapist's couch.
