The PSM pistol was designed during the early ninety seventies at the request of the all-powerful KGB (State Security committee of Soviet Union), which required a concealed carry weapon for their plainclothes operatives who were operating “in country”.

Rasheed rifle (or, more properly, a carbine; also sometimes spelled as Rashid) is a further development of Egyptian Hakim rifle, scaled down to accept significantly less powerful 7,62x39 Soviet ammunition, and slightly modified with introduction of the separate cocking handle and integral folding bayonet.

The rifle was the invention of the gunsmith Johann Nikolaus von Dreyse who, beginning in 1824, had conducted multiple experiments and in 1836 produced the complete needle-gun. Dreyse was ennobled in 1864.

Production of the KE-7 apparently has ceased before the start of WW2, and it was never used by Swiss armed forces, being a pure commercial/export product of the era.
