The release of 5.1 is now a few weeks behind us and in this time we have received a whole bunch of feedback from you all. You gave us feedback not only on the update, but also on the general state of the game – whether it be the events, the availability of core items or the current options to reach the max level of 75. Naturally we are always closely watching the development of the game and in this letter, I hope to comment on the biggest and most important topics currently being discussed by you all.
Kind regards, Nic
Events
The community has been talking a lot about the events across the previous weeks and we have of course been reading and seeing your feelings and opinions towards them. We cannot always be to everyone's tastes and even if we try as best we can to maintain a good balance, it can of course occur that a single event is not to the tastes of the PvE or PvP players.
Looking back at the Gold Alchemist event however, the majority of your feedback was negative. We take this to heart – we were also not very happy with the event, as the original plans we had for it could not be implemented in the way that we wanted. Did you not like the event in its current form? This message has been received and fully understood. Should it however find its way to our servers, we will modify it accordingly and pay good attention to make sure that it fits the game's conditions.
An opinion, which we heard with high frequency was "We want to have more fun in the events!“ Certain events are naturally known about in advance and are delivered to us from NCSOFT. For these, our ability to offer possibilities for adjustment is correspondingly slim. For this reason we have been doubling down on focusing on creating our own concepts over the past year, which we can then develop and implement ourselves. This naturally would affect not only the events, but also features such as the Hero Tests. These are a basis with which we want to incorporate in other concepts – for example, in the planned PvP and PvE Seasons. Unfortunately, a completely independently-developed concept also means that we are treading new ground. NCSOFT does not have any pre-tested or established structures for us here, so the implementation and optimisation of projects like this will naturally cost us more time.
What does this mean for the events in concrete terms? Well, unfortunately we will not be able to have the first PvP/PvE Season ready for you this year. As already described, these are tied into our Hero Test system, which is still currently in the optimisation phase and just simply isn't ready to support the Seasons as well. However, we do want to offer you some more variety as far as PvP is concerned in the coming advent and Christmas periods. We will be doing this in the form of the PvP event "Go hunt, Daeva!". This has also been developed by us – under close observation of numerous ideas and suggestions from you, the community – and already ran with great success for the first time in May. Christmas has even more in store for you however –PvE fans will also find something to their tastes. Amongst other things, there's the following: "Snow in Atreia", the buff snowman, countless boosts and also a completely new event, the likes of which has never before been seen on our servers!
Holy Upgrade Serums and All-Powerful Enchantment Stones
Another point that seems to be discussed frequently at length within the community is the availability of Holy Upgrade Serums and All-Powerful Enchantment Stones – and we have been keeping a close eye on these discussions since the release of 5.0. The new enchantment stones have already gotten a higher chance of success and are also very easy to get hold of, whereas we view All-Powerful Enchantment Stones to be more of a premium item. Holy Upgrade Serums are however core items, whose availability is very important to the game's economy and also to individual players. We agree entirely with you all in this instance: they need to be more attainable.
For this reason, for now we have started a one-week event this week with the maintenance, through which all bosses have a small chance of dropping a Holy Upgrade Serum in the following instances, for which the group can then roll the dice on:
Adma Ruins
Elemental Lord's Laboratory
Arkhal's Hidden Space
Kroban Base
Library of Knowledge
Garden of Knowledge
We will observe what kind of an effect this has on the upgrade serum's availability, so that we can use this experience to plan how to move forward long-term.
The Path to Level 75
We have also taken a hard look at this. As we already said at the start of 5.0, the rise to level 75 is a new part of the content. As such, it should constantly offer a target and incentive without having to make it become the primary focus for playing. We are of course going to keep an eye on this and especially so in future and with the coming 5.3 update.
What does this mean for you guys in concrete terms? Some will have already noticed, for others the change may be first noticeable in the coming month at the latest: we intend to increase the speed of the current levelling process. There will be more frequent boost events to give you more experience points – both those that normally run from one maintenance to the next one as well as those that run over a weekend or, for example, even offer an extra bonus. For the events we have planned for Christmas we also have got some things ready and with this, until next year there should be plenty of ways to get your character a good way forwards towards their goal of level 75.
In the new year and in approach to 5.3, we will however analyse how well prepared you all are for the coming patch – and based on the results we will then make further adjustments. I can assure you all, we're keeping a very close eye on the process!
I hope this addresses some of the most important topics that are currently being talked about within the community. As you can see, we already have a lot of plans for the hot topics surrounding the game. Thank you for your constant passion, and for your feedback!

Upgrade your feather from the 16th to the 23rd of November and earn valuable items!
There are countless dangers lurking in Atreia. Put on the best equipment you have and crown it off with a powerful feather - why not use a golden, upgraded version? What's more: you can improve it further with upgrade serums.
From 16th to 23rd November the risk is really worth your while as for every successful upgrade between levels 1 and 10, you'll get some valuable items.
There is a small chance that the serums are dropped in the instances for Higher Daevas (Arkhal's Hidden Space, Library of Knowledge, Garden of Knowledge, Kroban Base, Adma Ruins and Elemental Lord's Laboratory) during the event period.
Tip: During the event, the Holy Upgrade Serum is available in the AION shop at a bargain price.
Rewards Upgrading your golden feather to levels 1 to 10 will earn you numerous useful items – no matter how often you reach these levels.
The following rewards are available:
If you manage to upgrade your feather from level 9 to 10, there is an extra special reward:
Notes on the exclusive title:
The title is only temporary and can be worn for a limited time.
It will be given at the end of the event and is only valid on the server that you received it on.
Additional information:
Rewards are not immediately sent to your character - instead they have a minor delay (up to 24 hours).
You can upgrade as many feathers as you like, but the feathers you use have to be the types with the word "enhanced" in their name. For every feather of this type that you upgrade to between levels 1 and 10, you will earn a corresponding reward.
Only feathers that are upgraded during the event period count. Rewards will not be awarded for feathers that were already improved prior to the event.

For the 7th Birthday of AION EU, we called on you to get creative with our character creator and tell us a tale "Of Heroes and Villains". We wanted to see how you would imagine the beacon of hope for the Asmodians - or the steadfast protector of the Elyos. And what would their ultimate adversary look like? We were blown away by the sheer number of participants and the level of enthusiasm you´ve shown!
From all submission, we picked our favorites and crowed our winners - one in the category "Asmodian Hero vs Elyos Villain" and one for "Elyos Hero vs Asmodian Villain".
Since we got so many creative ideas and screenshots though, we decided to give some extra prizes to some special submissions! You can find all of the winners below.
We want to thank all of you who participated for sending us your creations and congratulate our winners!

It's Halloween and ghastly figures like witches and the undead are creeping or sweet-begging kids are wandering around the streets of Atreia. We're celebrating this festive season with you all and have prepared some treats!

Enter the instance with up to 5 fellow players and save Ariate from slavery in the circus ring! But be careful, Rukibuki and his henchmen won't give her up without a fight... Look for Ariate's fairy friends, they will take you to the circus immediately.
