As many of you will already know, here at Nomad Games we specialise in bringing iconic and much-loved board games to life digitally. Our next title that will be landing on Steam is Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition, another classic Games Workshop board game that defined the social-deduction genre and has enthralled players for nearly 40 years with it's unique gothic horror atmosphere.
We've got a bit more to go before the game is ready, but we'll be ramping up all our efforts massively in the next few months.
If you're interested, please take a look at the Steam page for Fury of Dracula:
In order to cope with this flood of games onto the platform, those cool kids at Valve have been pushing the use of algorithms that decide what players want to see, and what is worth showing to you. One of the key ways that Valve decides what is worth showing is based on the number of players who wishlist that title.
As a tiny studio who make niche titles, it’s massively important to us that our audience sees our games amongst the flood of competing titles. By adding Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition to your wishlist, not only are you helping us reach you directly, you’re also helping other people find out about our game too.
Wishlist figures also help us get an idea of how we can expect a title to perform, and allow us to make much better decisions about our future. It’s a win-win!
Also, if you add Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition to your wishlist, we’ll think you’re really cool. And can you really put a price on that?
As we’re sure you all noticed, we recently updated the main menu for Talisman: Digital Edition to make it look a lot nicer and easier to use. Well, we’ve not finished updating Talisman yet! We’re ready to give you all a look at what we’ve got planned next for Talisman, in our upcoming profile update.
So what have we got planned for this update?
Notice something different about the main menu? What’s that in the bottom right corner?
Currently the only thing that your profile does in Talisman: Digital Edition is level up to unlock runestones, and keep track of some in-game achievements. We’ve been working hard to overhaul the profile system in order to give you loads more customisation options and stats.
Nomad Games Account
Last year we mutually agreed with Asmodee that they would no longer publish our titles, and we would return to self-publishing. You can read more about that on our website if you missed it! They were kind enough to allow us to continue to use the Asmodee login system while we worked on a replacement for the system, and now that system is here!
Not only does the Nomad Games Account system do everything that the Asmodee login did (sync your purchases across Steam and mobile, keep track of your stats) it also allows you to access this new profile system!
Having a Nomad Games Account makes it much easier for our support team to identify issues you might be having, so it’s a win-win!
Please note that we still won’t be able to offer purchase syncing across the Nintendo Switch or PS4 versions of Talisman, due to restrictions on those platforms.
Avatars
Want to show off who your favourite Talisman character is? Or just want to look cool in front of all your friends? In this new update, you’ll be able to choose an avatar for your profile.
While some avatars will be unlocked from the start, we’re hoping to add even more as time goes on. We’ll share more about them as we get closer to release!
Latest News
Worried you might miss out on the latest Talisman news? With our new ‘News’ section we’ll be able to share the latest Talisman updates, tips and announcements with you directly.
Stats
Do you want to know more about your Talisman playing habits then you could have ever asked for? Well have we got good news for you!
We’ve added a whole heap of new things that the game will track, so you’ll finally be able to know just how many times you’ve played as the Leprechaun, or how many times you’ve rolled a 1.
New Leaderboards
And along with all these exciting new stats comes exciting new leaderboards! A lot of the stats you saw above also have leaderboards associated with them.
Want to be the No.1 Talisman player in the world when it comes to being turned into a toad? Think you can beat the mighty 'NomadTest3'? Now is the time to prove it!
Friend Stats
Want to compare yourself against your friends? We won’t judge if you want to start bragging, honest.
Right now this function is only to show you their stats, however we’re hoping to eventually add the ability to invite people to games directly from your friends list. That’ll take a bit more development though!
Will I need to pay for any of this?
Nope! All you need is to sign up for a Nomad Games Account and you’ll have full access to all the features listed above. You also won’t be able to purchase avatars - we’ll share more about how exactly you’ll be able to get them at a later date.
Please note that if you don’t want to sign up for an account, you’ll still be able to play Talisman as before - you just won’t have access to these extra profile features or cross-platform purchase syncing.
When will this be released?
As you can see from these screenshots, we're pretty close to releasing it! Right now we’re in the process of running final tests on these new features, and then we’ll need to make sure that everything works correctly on multiple devices. We're not 100% sure how long this process will take, so stay tuned for more updates.
As soon as the update is ready to release, we’ll be shouting about it on our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and official Discord - if you want to make sure you don’t miss out, follow us on your preferred social media content engagement platform! (Unless your preferred platform is Myspace, sorry but we haven't got one of those)
As always, we've been working on more fixes, updates and improvements to Talisman: Digital Edition. Check out the full list of changes below to see what you can expect in this new version!
We've fixed even more issues that were causing crashes - it's a never ending battle!
The Vampire character now has improved AI for when to use his transformation power
Crack the Earth now fully finishes its effect if another player dies
If you have multiple copies of Personal Journal, they will now stack (Now you can get extra personal)
After being given a sword by abilities, there'll be a check for inventory overflow - previously this wasn't checked
And straight after pushing this out, we're back to work on even more fixes and updates. (including a change to the 'One Talisman' ending suggested here on the Steam forums).
If you have any bugs you'd like us to take a look at, please post them on the Steam forums (we actively keep an eye out for new stuff on there) or let us know on the Nomad Games discord which is full of especially lovely people.
And finally, we hope you're all still staying safe inside during these crazy times! ːheartː
Today we’ve got an update for you regarding the future of Talisman: The Horus Heresy.
As of 22nd June 2020, Talisman: The Horus Heresy will be removed from all platforms where it is currently being sold. Current owners and anyone who purchases the game before 22nd June 2020 will still have access to the game in their purchase history, and any unused Steam keys for the title can still be used in the future, however no new ones will be issued.
Please note that you will still be able to play Talisman: The Horus Heresy online.
We have had to remove Talisman: The Horus Heresy from storefronts due to the publishing rights expiring. Don’t worry though, we’ll continue to publish Talisman: Digital Edition and Talisman: Origins, the other digital adaptations of Talisman.
In order to allow players to add Talisman: The Horus Heresy to their games library before it is removed from store fronts, we’ve created a discounted ‘Complete Your Collection’ bundle on Steam, along with offering a discount on both iOS and Android. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to pick up Horus Heresy, this is it!
We’ve had a lot of love over the years from both Talisman and Warhammer fans for Horus Heresy, and it was a pleasure to watch our fans enjoy another creation from us. It’s always sad to see a game go, but we’re proud of what we accomplished with Talisman: The Horus Heresy and hope people will continue to enjoy it even after it’s been removed from sale! ːheartː
We're please to announce that we're taking part in this years 'Skulls for the Skull Throne' event on Steam, to celebrate everything Warhammer and Games Workshop!
Along with a heap of Talisman content being on sale, we've also released three new characters for you to battle with.
We hope you're all enjoying this fresh wave of Talisman content, and if you've got feedback you can get in touch with us on Facebook, Twitter and our lovely Discord! ːheartː
Hello again all you magical Talisman fans! ːBlueTalismanː
More of an informative announcement this time, just to let you all know we've created a new bundle for Talisman content!
We're excited to announce that we've just released the 'Digital Exclusive Collection' for Talisman: Digital Edition. This will give you a tasty discount on our digital-exclusive content, and as a 'complete your collection' bundle it'll reward you for supporting us! You already gain our eternal love by supporting us, but we figured we could do more! ːheartː
Also, remember that the discounts on these bundles stack with any other discounts or sales, so if you're looking for a deal then keep an eye on these!
So what bundles are available now?
We've noticed a fair few people asking about bundles on the Steam forums, so we wanted to properly explain how we've currently got things set up. We've tried to create these bundles in a way that makes sense, but we're always open to feedback on them!
Digital Exclusive Collection Our newest Talisman bundle, this collects every piece of digital-exclusive content we've made since finishing the season pass. If you pair this with the season pass, you'll officially have everything Talisman: Digital Edition has to offer!
Talisman: Digital Edition - Season Pass This contains all of the expansions available physically for the 4th Revised Edition of Talisman. If it's been printed physically, it's in here! You also get the Talisman runestones and some extra characters too.
Expansions Bundle Only care about expansions? We've got you covered with the Expansions Bundle, another 'Complete Your Collection' offer that contains every single expansion for Talisman: Digital Edition. This includes both physical and digital-exclusive expansions!
Characters Bundle Want to increase your character roster? Good news, as this bundle contains all the individual (non-expansion) characters in one place! This is another 'Complete Your Collection' bundle, so you can grab this at a discount too.
Legendary Decks Collection Looking for a Talisman challenge? We've bundled together all the currently available Legendary Decks into a single package, if you're really after a hard time!
Adventurer Starter Pack Talisman can be a daunting game, which is why we got feedback from our lovely community on what they'd want to see in an 'introduction pack' for Talisman. Designed for new players, this bundle has helped many players get their start in the game!
Hello once again all you dashingly handsome Talisman fans ːBlueTalismanː
We've rolled out a small update today to fix some bugs that our lovely developers have managed to get a hold on over the past week.
This update will (hopefully) fix the following issues for you:
crashes at the end of online games
crashes caused by re-rolling using dark fate
crashes caused by selecting a card from the board
We're still working on more updates/bug fixes as always, and will hopefully be rolling out more bug fixes soon.
If you have any bugs you'd like us to take a look at, please post them on the Steam forums (we actively keep an eye out for new stuff on there) or let us know on the Nomad Games discord which is full of especially lovely people.
And finally, we hope you're all staying safe inside during these crazy times! ːheartː
First of all, we hope you’re all enjoying the new content we released for Talisman: Digital Edition last week! If you haven’t checked out the Legendary Decks yet, then you can find out more about them in their full announcement here.
If you’re still looking for more Talisman content, we’re happy to announce we’re releasing three new characters for you to battle against your friends with. These three characters are The Vampire, The Satyr and The Pilgrim. They will be familiar to any long-term Talisman fans, as two of them made their debut in the 2nd Edition more than 30 years ago!
We’ve worked alongside some of our community members to update them to fit Talisman: Digital Edition, and we can’t wait for you to get your hands on them. Whether you remember them back in the day, or it’s your first time playing them, they’ll definitely bring something new to your table.
If you already own a bunch of characters for Talisman: Digital Edition, we'll be adding these characters to our 'All Characters Bundle' so you'll be able to get a tasty discount on them as thanks for supporting us.
You can find out more about these exciting new characters below, and then add them to your wishlist to be notified when they go on sale:
We hope you're all enjoying this fresh wave of Talisman content, and if you've got feedback you can get in touch with us on Facebook, Twitter and Discord! ːheartː
We're very excited to announce that we've just released a batch of new content for Talisman: Digital Edition! This new content includes:
4 new Legendary Decks available for players to purchase
3 new characters available for players to purchase
A cool new look for the main menu
A heap of bug fixes and improvements
What are Legendary Decks?
If you’ve not already seen or heard, Legendary Decks will take your game of Talisman to the next level by making the game more challenging than ever before. Legendary Decks are mixed into your normal Adventure Cards, with the new cards offer harder challenges for you to overcome.
Please note that in order to use a Legendary Deck for a certain expansion, you’ll need to first own the expansion that the Legendary Deck is associated with. e.g. to use ‘The Reaper: Legendary Deck’ you’ll need to first own ‘The Reaper Expansion’ for Talisman: Digital Edition.
Who are these new characters?
We've brought three classic characters from the early days of Talisman to live in our digital adaptation! They are:
The Ranger, a skilled hunter and tracker who has spent years in the wilds hunting dangerous monsters and foes. He is now setting his sights on the most dangerous prize of all… the Crown of Command!
The Witch Hunter believes evil has taken root in the world, and it’s his job to hunt it! The Witch Hunter has a legion of villagers at his back, ready to put the accused on trial for their crimes.
The Swordsman is ready to unsheathe his blade and battle across the land of Talisman! Years of training have made the Swordsman an expert of the blade, and now he looks to put those skills to use in the race towards the Crown of Command.
I want to buy ALL the Legendary Decks! How do I do that?
Good question! We put together a bundle of Legendary Decks here on Steam so you can get them at a discount if you were planning on picking up the whole lot.
While this patch will hopefully fix a fair number of known bugs (the online connection issues should be fixed in this patch for example) we know Talisman well enough to say that we've definitely not squished all of them yet. We're always working on further bug fixes, and if we didn't fix yours this time then we're still working on it.
If a bug is still present in this update and you haven't posted it in the Bug Report forum, please do!
We hope you all enjoy this new content, and if you've got feedback you can get in touch with us on Facebook, Twitter and Discord! ːheartː
Just a minor update for you this time, as we've fixed a number of issues that would cause the game to crash to desktop. Most of these were quite specific and hard to pull off, so many of you would have never seen them hopefully!
We're currently working on a much bigger patch that we'll hopefully be rolling out in May.
Apologies for the delay on getting these notes to you, we're still working with a reduced staff here at Nomad Games so things are taking a bit longer than usual.
