Infinity Wars: Animated Trading Card Game - DrewUniverse
Here are the patch notes for Rebellion 2.1.3

- Rebellion Wave 4 cards have been pre-loaded into the client. They are currently hidden in the deckbuilder, and will be unlocked for viewing when Rebellion is released on November 12th. This will make it so we have little to no downtime at all when Rebellion's full set goes live.

- Added a red "X" marking to show on cards during the resolution phase. This happens when a targeted ability misfires on its target. For example, if you play Demonize on a character that stays in the Support Zone that turn, the Demonize card will have a large red X across the card to indicate that the ability failed to transform the character.

- Enabled Mega Unit 1's second ability (direct damage) to allow soft-targeting.

Bug Fixes

- For final card balancing, Taiga will be once again able to buff herself from her ability in 1/1 increments.

- Tailored Knight's overcharge effect will now grant Shield 1 and +3/3

- Death Blast: "Unique" status removed (if a copy is in your graveyard, you can play another copy right away). In addition, it now works off a maximum of 10 creatures in the graveyard rather than an unlimited number. It will attempt to take the top 10 characters from the graveyard, so if you have less than that the damage will be reduced accordingly. Still 2 damage per character removed from the graveyard.

- Fixed a discrepancy in the text of Invincible Soldier regarding "0" damage counting as damage or not. In the game code, 0 damage doesn't trigger special card traits such as the morale drain from Invincible Defender. The function is intentional, so we have updated the card text to say: "If Invincible Defender loses health due to combat damage and survives, the player that dealt damage loses 4 morale." This change will probably carry over to other cards that have this condition, such as Spirit of the Ancient Guardians.

- Aberion, Ascended should no longer appear as a draft pick when a player's deck purities do not match it. Gao Han, Champion of Warding is also affected.

- Fixed a bug where the store overlay persisted on the screen, even when changing to different menus.

- Fixed a bug where daily login rewards were sometimes not being awarded to players at random.

- Fixed a bug where, in Fixed Deck mode, the deck selection interface was malfunctioning. The screen has been repaired.

- Fixed a bug where sometimes a match did not record a win or loss for the player properly in Draft and Ranked mode.

- Fixed a bugged interaction between Evolving Parasite and Bromich, Field Commander.

- Fixed a bug where a character took full damage on the same turn that it was affected by both Zunshen, The Resolute General and Xi, Who Honors The Many simultaneously.

The next set release is coming up! That’s about a hundred new cards to refresh the metagame at long last. New ways to play, new uses for older cards, and new meta decklists! The Rebellion set is shaping up. With card balance and early preview waves, players have been enjoying such new cards as Diseased Brute and Taiga, Apprentice Architect. We’ve also seen some great card art across the board, with popular picks including Morningstar Accelerator and Once Was Clean. The next release will be the full Rebellion card set, no additional waves at this point (although, internally we’re calling it Wave 4).

Rebellion Release Schedule:

October 25th - Preorders open to public
November 8th - Rebellion patch goes live.
November 11th - Preorders end at 11:59pm IWT
November 12th - Preorders closed, Wave 4 cards go live with Rebellion Penta-Packs

Rebellion Events

Countdown #1 - Rebellion Patch going live (November 7th/8th).

There will be a stream at our official Twitch page. Includes talk, giveaways and some gameplay on the stream before and after the patch is deployed. We’ll also be looking to feature some players. Have a new lore piece to share on the stream before you post it to the community? How about an IW-themed song? We probably won’t stream during all of server downtime, but we’ll come back some hours later on launch day to do more giveaways and community interaction.

Countdown #2 - Preorder packs unlock (November 12, 12:01am IWT)

Same style as #1 above. There will also be a tournament themed in the style of Rebellion, beginning the next phase of the metagame. This one will be mostly for fun but prizes will be available; players will have several hours to do some pack openings before the event starts.

Pre-order Information

Rebellion set Penta-Packs will be available before launch, on October 25th. These Penta-Packs will contain only cards from the Rebellion set of cards, and every card in a preorder pack will have a Platinum border - no chance for regular borders or gold borders. Foil is of course possible, so this is the only time “Platfoils” will be available. Keep in mind that these preorder packs are meant to be bought early, but cannot be opened until November 12th. After this date, the pre-order packs cannot be bought ever again. From November 12th and onward, Regular Rebellion Penta-Packs will be available in the store. They may come in regular, gold, foil, or gold-foil; but not Platinum.

Community stretch goals will return, using the same format as with the Oppression set pre-orders. There are bonuses for both individual purchase, and for community purchases as a whole. Every player who buys at least one (1) pre-order pack, will receive all stretch goal rewards that are achieved by the community.

Here are the tiers and rewards for individual accounts:
(Note: Additional art content will be provided as soon as it is available.)

5-Pack: Unique Title - The Rebel

10-Pack: Above bonuses, plus Unique Avatar: Rebel Lilariah

25-pack: Above bonuses, plus Unique Card Back: Balance

50-pack: Above bonuses, plus Unique Alt-Art Lilariah

100-pack: Above bonuses, plus Unique Deck Effect.

Essential Information:
** All Pre-order Packs, regardless of bundle size, will contain cards with a Platinum border
** Price per pack: 150 LP -or- 3,000 IP.
**All rewards are soulbound. Regarding Alt-Art Lilariah I am double-checking with the team and will have an answer by Monday.
** If you buy a bundle, you must purchase with 100% LP or 100% IP - you cannot split the currency per purchase.
** If you are wondering about pack bundle merging to be eligible for a higher tier bonus (aka buying a 5-pack, and then another 5-pack, and asking us to merge them into a single 10-pack), I have asked the team and will let you know when we reach a decision.

Community Stretch Goals

These items are unlocked by aggregating all purchases made by the community. When a milestone is reached, all players who have bought 1 or more Pre-order Rebellion Penta-Packs will benefit from all milestones the community unlocks. For each tier reached, all previous tier bonuses are included as well.

Tier 1: Avatar - Warmaster

Tier 2: Card Back - Unity

Tier 3: Alt-Art (Time For Fun)

Tier 4: Avatar - Sentinel

Tier 5: Card Back - Rebellion

Tier 6: Alt-Art (Pacify)

**All rewards are soulbound.

Infinity Wars: Animated Trading Card Game - DrewUniverse
Patch Notes - Version 2.1.2

This patch is mostly about the new Daily Mission system, as well as the debut of Rebellion's third wave of cards.

--------------------

  • Added game feature: Daily Missions. These are randomized objectives you can complete by playing the game normally. By doing things such as completing a few PVP matches, or killing X characters, you can get bonus rewards! Missions refresh daily. The current reset time is 9am IWT, and is a tentative timing.

Rebellion Wave 3 cards are available to access early! They are available in a new Preview Penta-Pack. As a modified Collection Penta-Pack, here is the card distribution:

  • Card 1: Guaranteed Wave 1 OR Wave 2
  • Card 2: Guaranteed Wave 3
  • Card 3: Collection Rare or higher
  • Card 4: Collection Common or higher
  • Card 5: Collection Common or higher

  • The Login Screen "message" is now revised. When clicking "Log in" the player will now be shown the individual steps. The loading of player profile data, such as decks and card library will now be displayed one operation at a time. For players who have trouble logging in, knowing which message the login screen "stops" at will now help us narrow-down issues related to login. Here's how it will look:

--------------------

Known issues slated for next-day patching on October 12th:

  • Overlay bug when opening a trade window while viewing the Card Backs or Battlefields section of the store. To work around this, please go to a non-store menu page before entering a trade.

  • Slight visibility issue where the IP amount on Mission cards overlaps the background emblem with the same border color. Sizing will be adjusted.

Unforeseen issues related to this patch: None yet (This list will be updated as necessary)

Hey party people! This week the date is being announced for our next patch, along with a few reminders and discussions going on.

Ranked Reset Reminder

The reset will happen today as previously mentioned in last week’s update. The top 100 leaderboard will be frozen at 11:59pm IWT. Most of the prizes will be automated, but Infinity-border cards will be manually sent out by me. I will contact everyone in the top 25 to confirm what their IB picks are.

Yodo/LM are considering an in-game method for choosing IB cards, but in the meantime IB picks will have to be manual. We wish to keep testing the one-month reset duration for another 1-3 months before considering other season durations (such as 3-month, by expansion, etc). We have noticed the pros and cons offered by various community members, and will revisit this topic after we have tested the 1-month reset format a bit more.

Patch Day!

The next patch is expected to launch on October 11th, 2016. The patch will include the return of Daily Missions, as well as Rebellion Wave 3. Preliminary patch notes will be released as soon as they are available. Additional bug fixes are also expected, but there is a chance they may come earlier via a hotfix. A few notes about patch contents:

  • IP values seen for missions on PBE are not final, they were placeholder values. Rewards that include IP will be closer to about 1,000 IP, not 200.

  • Rebellion Wave 3 cards on PBE are not necessarily finalized when it comes to stats/abilities. The community balance team is going over the cards. Once Wave 3 is done being looked over, we will advertise that group of cards to the public.

Up Next

We are in the final stages of designing the DoD faction trial, and working on the script for the next campaign after it as well. Both sets are expected to be of comparable length to the existing faction campaigns, at about five missions. Starter decks will also be included as rewards for completing those campaign trials.

FIrst, I'd like to direct everyone to the details of our new hotfix update if you haven't given it a once-over yet. It is a sizable group of bug fixes including the deckbuilder menu, trade interface, and buggy card interactions.

Daily Missions Make A Return~

At long last, missions return to Infinity Wars. Some additional incentive is on the way for your regular gameplay. Killed 50 characters? Won a few games? You get extra rewards for things like that, with a few missions every day. Rewards may vary, from IP to Rift Tokens to IP/XP boosters for example - options are still being tested and explored.

Here are a few more examples we might attempt:

  • Use the Trading Post ten times.
  • Play with a deck that is three of the same purity.
  • Play with a deck that has at least X (Subtype) characters in it.
  • Virus: Developers carry a virus. Encounter us in PVP to receive the virus, and a reward.

There are so many options with this kind of thing. Eventually, we might even attempt to run community-wide missions/goals so that it doesn't just happen during expansion preorders. There is a lot that could be done with weekend, week-long, or month-long events; complete with themes for certain fictional events or scenarios. For now, just individual missions. You'll be able to experience this in one of our next updates, probably between October and November. In the meantime this feature will be tested and iterated further.

Ranked Rewards Update

After meeting and talking with some of our community mods, we have put together what we understand to be a road toward better rewards for Ranked leaderboard resets, in the short term focusing on this trial month. As we mentioned before, the current "trial" season will end on September 30th, with reward bundles going out to players. Please note that we have heard player concerns about RNG cards, distribution of Penta-packs and more. On the basis of this being a one-month season, here's the breakdown for September:

Prizes:
***Note: all Infinity cards are selectable, and all Golds will be Random for this month.

1st place

Gold-foil (all x1): Legendary, Epic, Rare, Uncommon and Common
Gold (all x2) Legendary, Epic, Rare, Uncommon and Common
Infinity: Legendary x1, Epic x2, Rare x3, Uncommon x3, Common x3
7,500 LP

-----------

2nd Place

Gold (all x2): Legendary, Epic, Rare, Uncommon and Common
Infinity Epic x2, Rare x2, Uncommon x3, Common x3
5,000 LP

-----------

3rd-5th Place

Gold (all x1): Legendary, Epic, Rare, Uncommon and Common
Infinity: Epic x1, Rare x1, Uncommon x2, Common x2
5,000 LP

-----------

6th-10th Place

Gold: Epic x2, Rare x1
Infinity: Rare x1, Uncommon x1, Common x1
3,500 LP

-----------

11th-25th Place

Gold: Rare x2
Infinity: Rare x1
2,000 LP

-----------

26th-50th Place

Gold: Uncommon x2
10 Collection Penta-Packs

-----------

51st-100th Place

Gold: Uncommon x1
5 Collection Penta-Packs

-----------

Okay, those are the rewards available come October 1st. Please remember that this is just a set-up for the trial season, and if necessary we can adjust the scaling or the contents to some degree. The current plan is to continue testing the 1-month season format for Ranked PVP, for at least one to three more months. In this time we will be discussing season length for the forseeable future beyond that, as we have lots of pros and cons with each duration. For example, we can't justify alt-arts for a 1-month duration, but a 3-month season is a longer grind. Various proposals on the forums will be read and taken into serious consideration. One thing we know for certain: we will finally be removing the Champion title issue. In future seasons, it will only be awarded at the conclusion of a season, and not right after a reset as players get their first points.

Going forward, we are considering various options for rewards at the top of the leaderboard which have some exclusive appeal to Ranked gameplay. One idea brought up was the concept of a special battlefield that goes to whoever has 1st place during the time of the reset, and each time you got the position your battlefield would transform a bit (such as a pile of gold getting bigger and bigger each time you got 1st place). This example was well-received by the mod team and staff, so that is a possibility in the future. Other concepts are also being considered as well.

Edit: Regarding choice reward cards, we recognize the value of being able to choose your reward card in a skill competition. In the case of individual card rewards, therefore, we are seriously considering the implementation of an in-game "pick your Infinity-border card" system that works directly in-game. We may opt for something similar to the old Golden Ticket, something I pitched for IBs earlier this year. I'll let you know when this gets locked-in for development.
