It has been yet another fast week, and now that Wednesday is the new Status Update day, I think it goes by even faster! All my mates in New Zealand at the moment are shooting Red Deer in what we call ‘The Roar’. I have seen some absolute spine tingling videos over the last week, the patience shown in not shooting it on the spot. This should give everyone an idea of how many there are in New Zealand, check out the video
New ‘.45 Copper Bullet’
You guys spoke, we listened, and as promised here is the new .45 ammo for the Inline Muzzleloading Pistol. To celebrate the new ammo release, we have the .50 Inline Muzzleloading Pistol on sale until Monday, make sure you don’t miss out! The new ammo shares an identical ‘Permitted Species List’ as its older cousin the ‘.45 Saboted Bullet’. If you are interested in the exact list you can find it here: https://www.thehunter.com/#store/item/882 If you want to see how it performs, we will be testing it out live in tomorrow’s ‘Lock&Learn’ stream. Plus, rumor has it we will be hosting an open multiplayer game. Tune in 4pm CEST, tomorrow www.twitch.com/expansiveworlds
New Species
As I mentioned last week, we are not too far away now from releasing a new animal into the EHR. The image below was your first clue:
The second clue was released as a short video on Monday which can be viewed on our YouTube account here There have been lots of good guesses coming in, and I think it is time for the third clue. Here is the original blurry Image taken from the video which was actually not the misleading clue ;)
Here it is sharpened up a little for you and is now the official 3rd Clue.
To join in the discussion head over to our forums and let us know what you think these clues are about!
What’s on the Lathe?
.17 HMR HV Ammo
The Art has been finished and we are currently ‘putting rounds down range’ to make sure we are happy with its performance. I am sure many will be looking forward to being able to squeeze a little more out of an already good gun.

After you have purchased it and warmed the barrels up a little. Let us know your thoughts and feedback on it in this thread HERE.

Which is Swedish for, ‘Happy Easter’! The sound of chocolate and candy being unwrapped around the office can already be heard and I am sure it will continue well into next week. Did you know that Swedish adults eat more candy than any other nation in the world per year? The average adult eats 17kgs a year and 1.7kgs of that is just over Easter.
Easter Event 2018
This year’s Easter Event starts today and runs until Tuesday the 3rd of April, thats 7 days of competitions, sales and of course two Easter themed mission packs. To participate it is super easy, all you need to do is click on the Easter banner in the launcher or website. This will open up the Event page which will give you all the information you need, it has links to all the competitions, the leaderboard, and you can also activate the missions from there as well!
As well as the daily sales that we have on offer, two items have come out of Doc’s shed, the .22’ Plinkington’ and Snakebite bow, both in the ‘Winter Camo’ variation.
This year we have implemented a tier system for the competitions, so you will be only competing against players of a similar Hunter Score. The tiers look like this:
Fledgling 0 - 499
Beginner 500 - 2499
Intermediate 2500 - 7499
Advanced 7500 - 14999
Elite 15000 - 29999
Master 30000 - 49999
Ultimate 50000 and up
So for example my Hunter Score is 13820 which would mean I am in the ‘Advanced’ tier and only competing against others who are in that tier in the competitions. Each competition gives you the chance to win trophies and em$, and just for completing them you are awarded with 100 Egg$. Here are the nice new trophies that you can win in the competitions:
The amount of Egg$ people accumulate decide the outcome of the main leaderboard and there are four ways you can get Egg$:
Completing any competition gives you 100 Egg$.
Each animal harvested during the event gives you 5 Egg$, but any that are heart shot reward you 10 Egg$. On top of this, any of the Rabbit species you harvest automatically give you 10 egg$.
Pick up any Easter Egg collectables. Bronze ones are worth 5 Egg$, Silver 10 Egg$ and Gold a massive 25 Egg$.
Completing the mission pack called ‘Easter 2018: A Hunter's Easter Egg Hunt’ also give you 100 Egg$.
Prizes for the Egg$ competition are:
1st Place = Trophy + 12mo Membership
2nd Place = Trophy + 6mo Membership
3rd Place = Trophy + 3mo Membership
4th to 10th Place = Trophy + 700 em$
200 Egg$ accumulated = Trophy + Scent Eliminator Mini (10 uses) + First Aid Kit (10 pack) + Camping Supplies (15 uses)
There are two mission packs this year that you can complete. The first mission pack is called ‘Easter Orchestra 2018: The Encore’ and will reward a trophy and a deployable hunting tower. The second mission pack called ‘Easter 2018: A Hunter's Easter Egg Hunt’ will reward 100 Egg$ upon completion and is designed for the more competitive hunter to take advantage of. Here is the lovely trophy you can get your hands on.
Good luck to all, I am sure it is going to be an intense week!
New Season
Now that the Piccabeen Bay spotting and scoring issues have been fixed we have started a new season. A clean slate means that elusive 1st place spot has never looked more achievable! Congrats to all the people that placed last season, there were some amazing animals shot and I am looking forward to seeing how this season shapes up!
Easter Service Update
Because it is Easter it is a short week here in Sweden, which will mean that any tickets you might submit to support could take a few extra days to get a response back. We will still be monitoring the forums and social media to make sure game play is running smoothly.

‘Kia ora’ is Maori for ‘hello’ or ‘hi’, it is pronounced ‘key-aura’ and is a common greeting in New Zealand. Just a little bit of random information to spice your Thursday up! Tomorrow is Friday which means the business week is nearly at a close and we can soon put our feet up and relax! Next week the Status Update will be coming out on Wednesday because of the busy easter schedule, but that means more information sooner ;) .

theHunter: Live
Well today is the first live competition with the new camera fully operational! I have to say I can’t wait to be able to bring you this new, fun style of competition that is viewer friendly. Hopefully we can make you feel like you are side by side with the contestants as they duke it out. Today sees ronMctube, Jaxy Beard and Flinter battle it out over two hours. The first contest is going to be on Bushrangers Run and they will be competing for highest scoring Feral Pig. The map is set up with 4 tents on it evenly spread out, we will run a draw to determine who gets to pick their starting point first, second and third. The second competition is going to be on Hirschfelden and we will see the competitors hunt after the highest scoring Roe Deer. Both scores added together will decide the final positions and I must stress this is a fun light-hearted competition so we can fully test the camera in a live situation… There is bound to be some comic gold.

It’s already Easter?!
We have had lots of events lately and I am sure everyone has appreciated them. But this Easter we have a little something different compared to the last events. So for instance I have a hunter score of 13820, this would see me in the ‘Advanced’ tier. We are currently working out what happens if you switch tier halfway through the competition, but we are leaning towards the hunter being removed from the lower tier and compete in the higher tier that he has just moved into, obviously while maintaining any progress he has already made. This will make for some fun competitions and mean that everyone has a better chance to do well. The event starts next Wednesday the 28th and runs until April the 3rd. More details will be released next week in the forums.

Rares go into the rares thread and trophy animals into the TruRACS one. We currently don’t have a competition for Non-Typicals, but they go into their own seperate one as well.
This Week’s Winners
The ‘Trophy of the Week’ is this huge Red Deer which was shot by LuckyMurph. It has a very nice score of 281.618 and is currently 1st on the leaderboard, congratulations! If you are unsure of what many consider a trophy Red Deer it is around the 255-260 scoring mark upwards. So as you can see this blows them out of the water!
And the ‘Rare of the Week’ goes to Ardillamente for this Northern Pintail (Mallard Hybrid) scoring 809.191. This is considered as one of the most rare variations in the game is an absolutely beautiful trophy, congratulations!
Free Rotation
This week's free rotation lets our guest hunters test their skills against Alpine Ibex and Mule Deer. Both are going to require the highest level of hunting skill!
Best of luck out there and I hope you all have a good weekend!
