Ahead of its official release on all platforms in our Spring Update, the 'Tournaments Beta' version of Rocket League will be available for download on Steam starting Wednesday, February 21, with the beta ending on Friday, February 23. The beta is purpose-built to help us test functionality and the new UI we have created for the Tournaments system. Check out the trailer for the Tournaments Beta up top!
How do you get into the beta? Easy! If you own a copy of Rocket League on Steam, all you’ll need to do, starting February 21, is 1) go to your Steam Library on your computer and right-click Rocket League, 2) choose ‘Properties,’ 3) click the ‘BETAS’ tab in the pop-up window, and 4) choose ‘Tournaments Beta’ from the drop-down list. After closing the pop-up window, your Steam client will update Rocket League to the beta.
Once you have the Tournaments Beta downloaded, you will be able to create your own tournaments and join competitions created by other players.
A few things to keep in mind if you want in on the beta:
The ‘Tournaments Beta’ version of Rocket League replaces the ‘Live’ version you already have installed, but it will NOT erase your XP, inventory, replays, or other player data.
Your control configuration and some audio and video settings may change.
Competitive Playlists will not be available in the Tournaments Beta.
Other functionality may also be limited.
Once the Tournaments Beta is over, or at anytime during the beta if you want to hop into a Competitive Playlist, simply go back to the ‘BETAS’ tab in the menu we mentioned above, choose ‘NONE - Opt out of all beta programs,’ from the same drop-down list, and Steam will download the latest ‘Live’ version of Rocket League.
There is no cross-platform functionality in the Tournaments Beta.
Beta start time: 10am PST on February 21
Beta end time: 5pm PST on February 23
We’ll be taking in all of your feedback about the beta on our Subreddit, as well as our Facebook and Twitter pages.
Oh, and that new logo you spied in the trailer up above? We’re going to be celebrating the 10th anniversary of Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars all year long, so look for the logo in all of our trailers throughout 2018!

We’ve teamed up with Hot Wheels to bring Rocket League to your living room in a whole new way!
The Hot Wheels Rocket League RC Rivals Set brings some of your favorite Battle-Cars to life! The large set comes with ‘Octane’ and ‘Dominus’ remote-controlled cars, a Rocket League ball, and a custom field mat that looks like it’s straight out of the video game. Both Battle-Cars are controlled via Bluetooth from your smartphone or tablet with no extra controllers to worry about. The vehicles and ball are charged via a large boost pad station and the set's scoreboard will track any shots that go through the goal with sounds! Check out the RC Set in the image below.
In addition to the RC Battle-Car action, the set also comes with codes that can be redeemed for unique in-game items. (Note: In-game code requires a copy of Rocket League to redeem, sold separately.) Details on the code item(s) will come closer to the toy’s launch.
The RC Rivals Set will be available this Holiday for USD $179.99, and Hot Wheels will be showing off the set at Toy Fair 2018 in New York City February 17-20.
We’ll have additional news to share about new Hot Wheels DLC coming later this year. Let us know what you think of the new toys onTwitter, Facebook, and oursubreddit!

Hi everybody! With our next update fast approaching, we wanted to share with you some of our plans for the first few months of 2018.
We’re testing out a new update schedule this year that alternates Content Updates - which include things like new Competitive Seasons (and rewards), Maps, Events, and DLC - with Feature Updates that focus on new functionality like Tournaments or Cross-Platform Parties.
This alternating schedule lets us update on a more frequent and regular cycle, guarantees you won’t have to wait too long between Competitive Seasons, and lets us spend more time perfecting and bug fixing features before they go live.
With that in mind, here are the highlights of what you can look forward to in the months ahead.

The wait is almost over! Rocket League’s seventh competitive season is right around the corner.
It all begins in the first half of February, with a soft reset to go along with it. The reset means that once season seven begins, you'll need to complete a set of ten placement matches per playlist to be officially ranked (note: winning half of your placement matches should likely put you back at or near your previous Season 6 rank). League Rankings will be temporarily empty once the soft reset occurs.
We’ve also taken some of your feedback on rank distribution, and we’re making a few adjustments in Duel (1v1) and Solo Standard (3v3) playlists to bring a higher percentage of those players into the Champion and Grand Champion ranks.
Now that you have the scoop on Season 7, it’s time to talk about Competitive Season 6 Rewards! For this season’s rewards, we’re going back to one of your favorite Rocket League customization items. The new Wheels are some of the most detailed we’ve ever created, and their different colors should compliment some beautiful Battle-Car presets. The ‘Champion’ Wheels practically pop off the screen! Take a look at all six Wheel sets in motion with the GIF below.
Remember: to qualify for Season 6 Reward Wheels, you will first need to have placed in at least one Competitive Playlist, and have earned the necessary Season Reward Level wins.
Here’s the distribution breakdown:
Bronze I or higher – Season 6 Bronze Wheels
Silver I or higher – Season 6 Silver Wheels + lower Wheels
Gold I or higher – Season 6 Gold Wheels + lower Wheels
Platinum I or higher – Season 6 Platinum Wheels + lower Wheels
Diamond I or higher – Season 6 Diamond Wheels + lower Wheels
Champion – Season 6 Champion Wheels + lower Wheels
Grand Champion – 'Season 6 Grand Champion' in-game Title + Champion Wheels + lower Wheels
We’ll have an exact Season 7 start date very soon, so stay tuned and let us know on Reddit, Twitter and Facebook what you think of the new designs!
