Rocket League® - Kyle_Psyonix

After one of the most intense seasons in Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) history, it’s time for all the amazing saves, mind-blowing shots, and heart-pounding moments that we've come to expect from the best Rocket League players in the world. On November 10-12, live from the MGM National Harbor in Washington D.C., we will find out who the best really is.

NORTH AMERICA
It’s been more than a year since we’ve seen a team from North America make it to the Grand Finals but with the strongest teams in North America headed for the United States capital in DC, will the story be different this time around?

NRG Esports is the only team returning from the Season 3 World Championships and having home field advantage could very well work in their favor. G2 Esports, on the other hand, is making their Worlds debut, led by the former World Champion, Kronovi. Will they make a statement on the international stage? Ghost has been underestimated all season long and they aim to use that perception to their advantage -- as they have consistently shown themselves to be a force against other NA teams. The heavy favorites, Cloud9, are looking to prove that they are the top dogs on the most important stage in Rocket League Esports.

In short, North America has everything to prove when they head to the pitch later this week.

EUROPE
The teams from Europe have continually shown they are the strongest region for Rocket League time and time again. The territory has produced five of the last six Grand Finalists dating back to the beginning of the RLCS, not to mention that both the Season 2 and Season 3 World Championships have gone to that side of the Atlantic. That said, they are beatable -- as proven at the DreamHack Atlanta and X Games summer events. Will the EU continue their championship run?

Quite possibly!

Making their RLCS LAN debut, PSG eSports and Method are both looking to continue the dominance they showed during League Play, while RLCS veterans Mock-it eSports, led by Paschy90, look to take their team all the way to the gold. Of course, with number-one-seeded Gale Force Esports also in the mix, that's no easy task. Could Gale Force's Turbopolsa become the first player to win back-to-back championships in RLCS history? We'll soon find out!

OCEANIA
With all the focus on NA and EU, Oceania (OCE) has been training hard for their return to the RLCS. Learning lessons from the Season 3 finals this past June, OCE has been practicing like mad and adapting to the different play styles of their North American and European counterparts.

Returning fan favorite, Chiefs ESC formerly Alpha Sydney), has maintained their roster since we last saw them at the Season 3 World Championships with Jake, Drippay and Torsos all making their return. However, a new challenger from OCE is joining them under the name Pale Horse eSports (Kamii, Kia and CJCJ). With OCE taking down Denial last RLCS, teams from Oceania should NOT be underestimated.

Rocket League® - Dirkened

The Batmobile has been one of Rocket League's most popular Premium DLC cars since it first arrived in March 2016. However, with the new Justice League movie headed to theaters on November 17, we felt like we should do a little something extra to celebrate the occasion.

And so, on November 14 (the same day we're launching Rocket League on Nintendo Switch), we will also be adding a new piece of content for BOTH new and existing Batmobile DLC owners. Truth be told, you may already be familiar with the new content already, as it had originally debuted as a "trailer-only special effect" in our teaser for the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Car Pack way back when.

That's right, it's that awesome 'Batman' Goal Explosion the community has been begging us for since they first saw it all those months ago!

Now that Goal Explosions can be customized in a way that wasn't possible when the DLC first released, it only made sense that we revisit the highly-popular Batmobile and give it the highly-requested Goal Explosion as soon as we could! The timing of the Justice League movie just made it that much cooler!

The Batmobile is available for $1.99 USD (or regional equivalent) as part of the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Car Pack and the new Batman Goal Explosion will be included with all future Batmobile purchases from November 14 onward. If you already own the Batmobile, then it's no problem; as previously mentioned, the Batman Goal Explosion will automatically be added to your inventory once our November 14 update is live.

NOTE: The Batman Goal Explosion is only equippable when driving the Batmobile vehicle itself during a match. You will not be able to equip the Batman Goal Explosion to any other Battle-Car.

BOO!

Halloween is now in the rear-view, but it doesn't mean that we can't end our Haunted Hallows event with another Double Drop-Rate Weekend!

And so we will! With the RLCS Season 4 World Championship just around the corner, there’s no better time than now to highlight those RLCS players in this month’s Community Spotlight! Behind every Rocket League pro is a set of high-caliber core mechanics that enables them to perform at the highest level. But how does an average player rise through the ranks to contest with the best of them? The pros are here to help!

CUSTOM TRAINING

Rocket League pro players have continued to show that they are always perfecting their craft. This month, we have a handful of hidden gems that will teach you how to read the ball just like the popular C9 pro, Torment, does. They'll also teach you how to redirect crazy shots like NRG's Jacob, or how to achieve Metsanarius' [from Method] level of precision. Work through some of these packs and you'll likely never be afraid to "take the shot" again!

Rocket League’s first-ever Haunted Hallows special Event is just around the corner, which means that it’s time for a closer, not-at-all spooky look at Rocket League’s upcoming Event system!

Earning and Spending Currency

Our Event system introduces a new limited-time currency, with the first being Candy Corn! All you need to do to earn it is to play (and complete) Online Matches. In order to use Candy Corn, simply click the 'Special Event' button on the main menu screen. From there, you can redeem whatever you've earned to claim Halloween Items, Decryptors, and Locked "Haunted Hallows" Crates.

Candy Corn can be spent throughout the Event, and will expire one week after Haunted Hallows is over, but don't worry -- Items purchased with Candy Corn DO NOT expire at the end of the event, and will remain in your inventory forever!

*Note: The standalone items you can buy with Candy Corn are NOT the same as the items available in the ‘Haunted Hallows’ Crate!

Decryptors

Decryptors are the newest way to unlock Crates in Rocket League and they can be used for any Crate in the game (including Event Crates). The only way to get Decryptors is to buy them with Candy Corn. But remember: any Crate Item unlocked through the use of Decryptors will be untradeable. If you want to trade an unlocked item, make sure you use a normal Key.

Event Crates

Our new ‘Haunted Hallows’ Event Crates are only available during the Haunted Hallows event, and there are three ways to get them. As always, you can get a new Crate as a drop after some Online Matches, and you can also buy the Crate using Candy Corn. In both cases, you can open the Crate with a Key or a Decryptor. We’re also letting you buy Event Crates directly, similar to how you buy Keys, and any purchased ‘Haunted Hallows’ Crate will not require a Key or Decryptor to unlock.

Finally, the Haunted Hallows Event Crates will not be updated for next Halloween. If you decide to wait a year to open one of these Crates, it will still have the same potential item inside as it does during this event.

The Haunted Hallows event gets rolling this Monday, October 16 at 5pm PDT, so get ready to earn some Candy Corn.

Haunted Hallows Event Start Time
  • Monday, October 16 at 5pm PDT (8pm EDT/2am CEDT on October 17)
Haunted Hallows Event End Time
  • Monday, November 6 at 10am PST (1pm EST/7pm CET)
