CHANGES AND UPDATES
Boost Nameplate Indicators
Boost Nameplate Indicators are a new feature on Player Nameplates to keep you informed of your teammate’s Boost levels.
A new circular boost meter will be visible to the left of your teammate’s name.
If you’re using Simplified Nameplates, the circle appears above your teammate’s triangle indicator.
The circle will appear full when your teammate’s Boost is at 100, empty at 0, and updates in real-time as your teammate goes through Boost or picks Boost up.
Boost information is only available for teammates, so you’ll never know how much Boost your opponents have.
Boost information for all players is visible during goal replays, when you are spectating a live match, and when you are watching a saved replay.
Boost Nameplate Indicators are active in all game modes.
Item Rarity Name Changes
The names of several item rarity categories have changed:
Common has changed to Base
Uncommon has changed to Sport
Rare has changed to Special
Very Rare has changed to Deluxe
Limited has changed to Luxury
Import, Exotic, Black Market, Premium, and Legacy are unchanged
Show or Hide Competitive Ranks
The “Show Rank Info” Checkbox under Settings > Gameplay has been replaced with a new “Show Competitive Ranks” Dropdown list. This setting controls whether you see rank info in the play menu and the post-match screen for the respective modes. Options on the new dropdown list include:
None
Extra Modes Only
Standard Modes Only

KNOWN ISSUES
For a complete list of known issues in Rocket League, go here.
Soon in Rocket League, your teammates’ nameplates will display how much boost they have left! Also, certain item rarities are getting a name change.
Rocket League is a game full of modes where you need to think quickly on your feet – er, Wheels. Maybe you’ve taken to the air only to see your teammate’s “Need boost!” in the chat a split second too late. You lose the fifty, your teammate can’t make it back in time, and it’s game over.
Starting in tomorrow’s update, though, the nameplates over your teammates will show how much boost they have left! Their remaining boost will be displayed in a small circle gauge next to their display name.
Read more about these upgraded nameplates, plus changes to item rarity names also in the update.
Nameplates: Now with Teammate Boost Indicators
The core of this change is that we feel visible boost levels will lessen confusion between teammates. For example, let’s say you have a teammate dribbling up the field. You may ask yourself, “Are they being slow and methodical on purpose… or are they just short on boost?” With the upgraded nameplates, you’ll have a better idea of what your teammates are doing.
Knowing teammates’ boost levels is important for high-skill players, but also Rocket League players as a whole. Many players may not fully understand the significance of boost management, so we feel that showing players how their teammates are handling boost will help them make better decisions for themselves and their team.
The reason we went with nameplates to display this information—instead of a HUD addition—is because we believe an always-on boost indicator for all your teammates would be difficult to follow and would distract from gameplay. (Additionally, we believe knowing your teammates’ boost levels at all times isn’t necessary.) It's a careful balance between providing useful information to players without adding too much visual noise.
As a reminder, these boost indicators only apply to your teammates, not anyone on the opposing team! We’d love to hear what you think of this feature, so head over to the Rocket League subreddit or Discord and be heard.
Rarity Name Changes
Starting in tomorrow’s update, the names of these item rarities will change:
Common → Base
Uncommon → Sport
Rare → Special
Very Rare → Deluxe
Limited → Luxury
Stay tuned for the patch notes for this update, being published after the update goes live tomorrow, April 16 at 4 PM PT / 11 PM UTC.
You’ve mastered hitting the Soccar ball, now it’s time to master “bending” your way ‘round rivals with the inspiration of water, earth, fire, and air. Kit out your ride in Rocket League with chi-infused accessories inspired by the spiritual world of Avatar: The Last Airbender! These accessories—including Decals based on fan-favorite characters like Aang, Katara, and Toph—are in the Item Shop now ‘til April 28, 2024, at 9 AM PT.
AANG AND THE GANG
We might not have as much wisdom as Uncle Iroh, but we know that you must steer in harmony with your teammates to emerge victorious in the arena. One way you could achieve that balance is by channeling the spirit of The Last Airbender himself with the Aang Octane Decal. That being said, the Katara Takumi Decal also makes quite an inspirational splash, embodying the same unwavering sense of justice and determination as the skilled waterbender it's based on. Would you prefer to bring the heat? Blaze your way to the goal with the fiery Zuko Dominus Decal.
If you’re trying to be a force on the field, you should be driving like a Sky Bison, so step into the fluffiest ride in the arena with the Appa Merc Decal! Or, face the opposition head-on while echoing the power of an earthbending prodigy with the Toph Beifong Fennec Decal. Whatever element you wield, just be careful you don’t bump into innocent vegetables, as the Cabbage Merchant Masamune Decal will provide plenty of greenery with its animated cabbages.
Water, earth, fire, and air collide in the Avatar: The Last Airbender Mega Bundle, which contains all six Avatar Decals plus the Avatar Elemental Boost. Each item is also available for purchase individually.
AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER MEGA BUNDLE (1100 CREDITS)
Aang Octane Decal (300 Credits individually) (eligible for cross-game ownership with Fortnite)
Hey folks! Starting right now, a new US Central server region is live in Rocket League! We know this has been a longtime ask from North American players, and we’re excited to bring the new region online.
Servers for Online Matches: Servers in US Central are located in Illinois, Iowa, and Texas. With the new region online, Illinois and Texas servers originally located in US East are now part of US Central. To check out the new server region, open the Casual or Competitive Cards in the Play Menu, select Regions, and choose US Central on the list.
Tournament Servers: With the new region coming online, the location of Tournament servers is not changing – US Tournament servers will continue to be hosted in Illinois, Iowa, and Texas as they’ve always been.
You can ensure you're seeing the correct Tournament schedule by going to Settings > Gameplay > Tournament Schedule Region. From there, players in North America should select US East, US Central, or US West to see the Tournament schedule best for them. After choosing one of the three US regions, the region listed on the Tournament Details page should appear as “US-Central.”
Thanks everyone, and let us know what you think of the new region once you have a chance to check it out!

A CITY OF CHALLENGES
Wear your favorite team’s colors with pride! There are ten different Season Mode-themed Decals you can unlock by completing City Slam Challenges.
Octane drivers, look explosive with the Bombers Decal, show off your fast driving with the Express Decal, bear your teeth with the Kodiaks Decal, or brandish your tusks with the Mammoths Decal.
If you prefer to step into a Merc, rule over the pitch with the Dragons Decal or defend your party’s honor with the Guardians Decal. Meanwhile, Dominus drivers can demonstrate their nobility with the Knights Decal, look ghoulish with the Phantoms Decal, or set their goal on obliteration with the Destroyers Decal. And we’re not forgetting Breakout, which becomes part of the pack with the Wolves Decal!
Challenges are even better with trophies. For taking down one of City Slam’s toughest Challenges (Play 20 Online Matches), you’ll earn a Golden Cup you can open in your inventory to unlock items from the Accelerator, Turbo, or Triumph Series. You can complete this Challenge up to five times, so clear your trophy case for five shining Golden Cups 🏆
For you extra competitive Soccar players, there’s also an unlimited Win 10 Online Matches Challenge that rewards a suspension-busting 20,000 XP each time.

CITY SLAM FOR A SPIN
When a team can be defeated, things get heated! Head to the City Slam tab of the Item Shop to browse Decals showing the Season Mode teams’ fiery passion for victory—an inferno of neon flames that light up even the darkest Soccar pitch. All the Decals below are animated!
The Wolves (City Slam) Dingo Decal is the perfect example, with fearsome fangs at the front and a blue blaze at the rear. Matching its primal energy is the Kodiaks (City Slam) Dominus Decal, which roars into the arena with all the ferocity you’d expect from a flaming bear. If you really want to feel the heat, check out the Dragons (City Slam) Fennec Decal which sports a bright blue blaze that perfectly matches its mythological origins. The only thing that can go toe to toe is the Guardians (City Slam) Fennec Decal, which covers your Car Body in flowing lava. If you’re after a paint job that won’t have you reaching for the air con, then look no further than the Bombers (City Slam) Octane Decal which trades fierce flames for shocking sparks. Equally shocking is the Mammoths (City Slam) Dingo Decal that’ll electrif-eye around the pitch. You may also want to consider the Express (City Slam) Octane Decal, which dials down the temperature but still dons animated smoke. Your rivals will want to hit the brakes once they spot the Phantoms (City Slam) Dominus Decal’s sinister skull and the Destroyers (City Slam) Dominus Decal’s ominous glow. The Knights (City Slam) Dominus Decal isn’t for the faint of heart either, with an axe-wielding armored warrior that will help you “chop” your way to victory.
And remember, a team is nothing without its fanbase to cheer them on, so show your love with the “Need You” Player Anthem by Nostalgix.
Not sure who to support? Be every team’s biggest fan by picking up the City Slam Mega Bundle, which contains all the Item Shop City Slam Decals.
If you’re looking for Car Bodies to use the Decals on, roll on up to the Car Show tab in the Item Shop! -- Hit the pitch like you’re hittin’ the town. City Slam runs from March 26 to April 9.

LESS SHARKS, MORE VIBES – STEER INTO SALTY SHALLOWS
A new location of the AquaDome Arena was found near the coast of Salty Shores! Welcome to AquaDome (Salty Shallows), where you’ll be much closer to the surface of the sea.
With the shallower water, this different AquaDome environment certainly feels more relaxed with fewer apex predators circling the stadium. The new lighting in and around the stadium reflects this level of serenity, as does a carefully curated playlist of Lofi house tunes including this Season’s theme song “Ghost” by Monstercat artist, Direct. You’ll also hear new music from zensei ゼンセ, rshand, Angara, Bound to Divide, Skybreak, and Dani Demand!
ROCKET PASS PREMIUM
Get ready for watery raves and jamming with the clams. By going up the Rocket Pass Premium Tiers, you can submerge yourself in a treasure chest of aquatic-themed items: Keep it reel with the Admiral Car Body and make a fuss with the Mako Car Body, two sports cars so slick they’ll leave your opponents gasping for air. Angling for a new aesthetic? Swim alongside the shoals with the Fishscale Paint Finish and Kelp Antenna.
If you fancy a title change, you can rock the Cool Captain Title or hang loose with the Swag Surfer Title. Keep AquaDome’s lofi feel going with the Gulf Stream Groove Player Anthem!
To really start the party, spin up the Tidal Rave Goal Explosion or immerse the Arena with the takeover Atlantis Goal Explosion.
All the rewards mentioned above are just some of the rewards you can unlock. With 70+ Tiers of rewards across free and Premium, the treasure is bountiful!

Following the release of the Arcade Playlists, we saw a lot of feedback about the desire to more meaningfully influence the Extra Modes in these slots. And while we understand some players want their favorite modes in the game permanently, it’s important that we balance the number of active modes to ensure high quality matches and reasonable matchmaking times.
Today we’re excited to introduce the new Dueling Arcade Playlist system to help address the above feedback. This new system allows the community to keep a favorite mode in the game almost indefinitely! Like before, there are two Arcade Playlists that rotate through existing Extra Modes. With the new system, the most popular mode after a week will remain available the next week, while the less popular one will cycle out and return at a later date.
If the two Extra Modes are generally unpopular on a given week, we’ll replace both the next week with Extra Modes we expect will be more exciting to the community.
What if there’s an LTM active? The LTM will replace one of the Arcade Playlist slots and the dueling Arcade Playlists system will be paused.
The first two Extra Modes in this new system are Speed Demon and Rocket Labs Medley. We hope this system helps you get more play time with your favorite modes!
