Rocket League® - Dirkened

Alongside new features like Transparent Goalposts and the new Standard versions of Starbase ARC and Wasteland, our Autumn Update will also include the start of Rocket League’s SIXTH Competitive Season!

To kick off the new season, we are running a soft reset on all accounts that have previously placed in any Competitive Playlist. This means every player will need to complete a set of ten placement matches per Playlist, similar to when you play in a Competitive Playlist for the first time. This soft reset will help calibrate the entire player population for the new season, which will end in early 2018.

Season 5 Rewards
For those who placed in Competitive Playlists this season, we’re excited to announce that the Season 5 Rewards are a new player customization item we’re rolling out in the Autumn Update. Player Banners will be seen throughout Rocket League, including the main menu screen and during goal replays, and the Season 5 Rewards are unique Player Banners tied to each Competitive Tier.

The Reward Banners, seen above, will be handed out as follows:
  • Bronze I or higher – Season 5 Bronze Player Banner
  • Silver I or higher – Season 5 Silver Player Banner + lower Banners
  • Gold I or higher – Season 5 Gold Player Banner + lower Banners
  • Platinum I or higher – Season 5 Platinum Player Banner + lower Banners
  • Diamond I or higher – Season 5 Diamond Player Banner + lower Banners
  • Champion – Season 5 Champion Player Banner + lower Banners
  • Grand Champion – 'Season 5 Grand Champion' in-game Title + Champion Player Banner + lower Banners
Remember, in order to qualify for these Banners, you must earn the 12 wins for each Season Reward Level. Players who are in the Platinum Tier, for example, must earn Season Reward Level wins for Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum in order to receive all four Reward Banners.

We hope you enjoy the new Banner items, and we’ll have more to share closer to the Autumn Update’s release!

(NOTE: Parallel with our efforts at the end of Seasons 3 and 4, we will deny Season 5 Rewards to any account involved with matchmaking abuse or boosting services.)

Heads up, sports fans! As of September 28, 2017, the official NBA Flag Pack will no longer be available for purchase as DLC in Rocket League on all platforms.

In the meantime, you can still purchase the NBA Flag Pack on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam PC digital storefronts for $1.99 (or regional equivalent) until September 28. Owners of that DLC will still be able to use the NBA flags after our delisting date.

On behalf of the entire team at Psyonix, we want to thank our friends at the NBA for making the Flag Pack possible -- it helped us launch Rocket League Hoops way back in April 2016.

That’s right, Rocket League is heading back to one of our favorite gaming conventions of the year, PAX West!

First up, we are bringing the first PLAYABLE version of Rocket League on Nintendo Switch to Seattle! All weekend long, you can head to Nintendo’s booth #2121 on Level 4 of the WSCC (it’s next to the WB Games and Twitch booths) and play Soccar 'til your heart’s content (or until it’s someone else’s turn).

For the more competition-minded PAXers, we’re also back with TWO tournaments, and both are open to any badge-holding PAX West attendee. Our first tournament of the weekend is the 2v2 console tournament on PS4, happening in the Console Tournament area on Friday, September 1 from 8pm to 10pm PDT. The Console Tournament area is on Level 6 in the WSCC, right next to Console Freeplay.

PC players get their crack at PAX West glory, too, as we bring back the classic 3v3 tournament! The action goes from 12pm-2pm PDT on Saturday, September 2 in the Lenovo Legion PC Room, located on Level 3 in the WSCC Annex. Both Rocket League tournaments will have swag prizes for the top three teams!

But that’s not all! Rocket League will also have a presence on two panels over the course of the holiday weekend. On Sunday, September 3 at 6pm PDT in the Wyvern Theatre, our own Esports Program Specialist Cory Lanier is part of “We Caan Train You: A Guide to Winning Your First Tournament,” where he and other esports industry figures (and champions) will discuss what it takes to start a career in professional gaming. Last but not least, yours truly is back to talk about social media "do's and don'ts" as part of “The Audacity of #HYPE V: Social Media Strikes Back.” You can catch this PAX tradition on Sunday, September 3 at 3:30pm PDT in the Sasquatch Theatre.

We hope to see you in Seattle during Labor Day weekend, and we can’t wait to share Rocket League on Switch with the world!
