The Summer of Rocket League Esports continues with the conclusion of the DreamHack Summer Rocket League Championship. Teams from all over Europe and even North America made their way to beautiful Jönköping, Sweden to fight for their share of $50,000 in prize money. In an impressive 4-2 victory over Gale Force Esports, FlipSid3 Tactics took the first-ever DreamHack Rocket League Championship title.

TAKING A LOOK AT THE TOP TWO
FlipSid3 Tactics came out strong in every matchup over the weekend. The addition of Miztik to the FlipSid3 roster allowed Markydooda and Kuxir97 to play at a level reminiscent of their RLCS Season 2 World Championship performance. With Miztik finally achieving his first LAN victory, and F3's strong performance overall, the future looks bright for the European juggernauts.

Gale Force Esports also had a strong showing at the event with a newly-formed roster of ViolentPanda, KayDop and Turbopulsa. Displaying a dominant ground game against Rogue and Team Infuse, the roster performed well in their first LAN appearance together. With Turbopolsa not officially confirmed on the GFE roster, their performance at DreamHack Summer speaks to the rapid chemistry of the team. With more competition coming up this summer, we expect to see GFE’s final roster spot filled in the near future.
After an exciting weekend in Sweden, we’re looking forward to the next major date on the Rocket League Esports calendar. DreamHack Atlanta takes place on July 21-23, so tune in to watch the best in the world battle for their shot at another $50,000!

The Rocket LeagueAnniversary Update is less than a month away, which means Competitive Season 4 is also near its end. July 5 marks the beginning of Competitive Season 5 (we’ll have more on the new season later this month), and players who achieved rank in one or more Competitive Playlists are eligible for our brand new Competitive Season 4 Rewards.
To complement the Toppers, Rocket Trails, and Wheels from our previous Competitive Seasons, every eligible Rocket League player will receive at least one brand new [Supersonic] ‘Trail,” which is one of several new car customization options found in the Anniversary Update. (To help avoid confusion, we are renaming ‘Rocket Trails,’ to ‘Rocket Boosts’ in our next update.)
These Trails, which are a mix of purple, blue, and white by default, appear when your car goes Supersonic (when you use boost), acting as a visual cue for when your car is going its absolute fastest.
Each Skill Tier group -- Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Champion -- will have its own untradeable Trail. The highest Season Reward you receive is tied to the highest Tier you reached in any Competitive Playlist during Season 4. If you reached Champion at any point in Season 4, then dropped to Diamond or lower, you will still get the Champion-level Trail, along with Trails for every lower Tier.
The rewards, seen above, will be handed out as follows:
Bronze I or higher – Season 4 Bronze Trail
Silver I or higher – Season 4 Silver Trail + lower Trails
Gold I or higher – Season 4 Gold Trail + lower Trails
Platinum I or higher – Season 4 Platinum Trail + lower Trails
Diamond I or higher – Season 4 Diamond Trail + lower Trails
Champion – Season 4 Champion Trail + lower Trails
Grand Champion – Season 4 Grand Champion in-game Title + Champion Trail + lower Trails
As we did at the end of Competitive Season 3, we will be monitoring every player’s Competitive matchmaking history up through the end of Season 4. Any account that has been identified as participating in matchmaking abuse during Season 4, like account boosting or deranking, will be denied Season 4 Rewards.
Be sure to check back on our blog for more updates about Competitive Season 5 and the Anniversary Update later this month!

This past weekend Rocket League fans from around the globe made their way to the Rocket League Championship Series Season 3 World Championship to witness history. After three days of exciting rivalries and amazing matches, we crowned a new World Champion. Battling through the lower bracket and forcing a bracket reset in the Grand Finals, Northern Gaming took the World Championship 4-3 over Mock-it Esports.
Led by some breathtaking clutch plays from the RLCS Season 3 MVP Deevo, Remkoe and Turbopolsa, who played in place of League Play powerhouse, Maestro, proved to everyone they had what it takes to earn their place in history as World Champions. Not only did they take home $55,000 USD, but they also secured a spot in Season 4 League Play for the European region. We can’t wait to see what Northern Gaming brings to the table next season!

Day 2
The NRG Curse - NRG takes on Northern Gaming on the Main Stage
Down to the Wire - Fairy Peak! and Mock-it meet Rogue Esports on the pitch
Season 2 Rematch - Jacob and NRG fight back against Flipsid3 Tactics
Day 3
Leftover No More - The Leftovers battle against Flipsid3 Tactics
A 2nd Chance - Northern Gaming clash with the final NA team, NRG
The Grand Final - Northern Gaming faces off against Mock-it Esports
Looking back on the event, we here at Psyonix want to say THANK YOU to all of our fans and viewers for showing the world what Rocket League Esports is all about. We couldn’t have asked for a better end to RLCS Season 3. We also want to thank the teams, staff, and casters for helping make this one of the most exciting weekends in Rocket League history.
There’s a lot more to come in the world of Rocket League Esports, but for now let’s celebrate our new World Champions, Northern Gaming!

What Anniversary Update would be complete without some fresh tracks and a new way to select your music?
We’re teaming up with Monstercat on a brand new default music playlist, “Rocket League x Monstercat,” with 18 tracks coming to our in-game soundtrack on July 5! Four tracks are being released early starting this week, with the remaining 14 tracks making their worldwide debut inside Rocket League next month!
If you watched our Anniversary Update trailer, or saw it during the RLCS World Championship broadcast, you should recognize “ROCK IT” by Tokyo Machine, which you can check out on Spotify. If you want even more, one new track will be released every Monday heading up to the Update’s release. Once released, check the Rocket League’s Twitter and Facebook for more information.
Players on Steam will be able to download the soundtrack directly after release, and the playlist will be available to stream or purchase (where applicable) on Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, Bandcamp, and more.
Along with the brand new default playlist, we’re including a FREE Monstercat Flag and Decal in the Anniversary Update, so you can rep your favorite artist on the pitch.
The new Monstercat playlist is helping us kick off Rocket League Radio, a new take on how you choose which music plays in the Rocket League menu. Four distinct playlists will be available at launch, including “Rocket League x Monstercat,” “Rocket League OST Vol.1,” “Rocket League OST Vol. 2,” and “Unreleased Tracks.” (Unreleased tracks are songs not yet tied to an official soundtrack release.) You can stick with your favorite playlist, or listen to all four playlists at once!
This initial version of Rocket League Radio is a platform for us to build on in future updates. While there is no set timetable, we will eventually add even more playlists, and, yes, even the ability to play music when you’re in a match. Until then, enjoy the new tracks, and the rest of what the Anniversary Update has to offer! Check out the full tracklisting and album artwork below:
