You have some extra time to hit your dream Rank and unlock items from the Pro Tiers in Rocket Pass 6! Both Competitive Season 14 and Rocket Pass 6 are being extended.
If you read our most recent blog about our plans for the rest of the year, you know we are hard at work on a major update for Rocket League coming later this summer. Because that work includes changes to competitive play, like new ranks for players at Grand Champion, we’re extending the current Competitive Season and Rocket Pass 6 to the live date of that update. We still can’t reveal the exact date of the update, but it will go live later this summer. Stay tuned for more info later in July. It’ll be worth the wait!
Since we’re talking about the end of the Competitive Season, that means it’s time to reveal the Season Rewards. Without further ado, the Season Rewards for Competitive Season 14 are new Player Banners and Avatar Borders. Check them out in all their glory below!

Who's ready to party?? Our Boost Meter is full and we're ready to celebrate Rocket League's Fifth Anniversary! It's hard to believe it's been five years since we first hit the pitch. Now, skills have improved and we're ready to dish assists, hit aerial goals, and earn some all-new items inspired by Rocket League history in our newest in-game event!
Even though Rocket League's official Fifth Anniversary isn't until July 7, we're starting the party early with a two-week in-game event featuring an Event Store with unlockable items and Limited Time Modes. Start earning Balloons following Online Matches and redeem them in the event store for items like the Psyonix II Wheels or the Party Horn Boost, or turn them in for XP Packs to Tier Up your Rocket Pass. Golden Eggs have also returned to the Event Store and contain items from Champions Series 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Two Limited Time Modes will be featured throughout the event for one week each. Spike Rush is live now for a week, and will be followed by 2v2 Heatseeker, which is live from July 6 to July 13.
We want to thank our amazing community for five incredible years of passion and continued support. We know this milestone wouldn't be possible without you! We hope you enjoy our Fifth Anniversary Event. Here's to five more years and beyond!
Get ready for the latest set of items! The Momentum Series will start appearing as Blueprints and in the Item Shop tomorrow.
The Momentum Series has more than a dozen all-new items, like the super sleek Peregrine TT, the Interstellar Animated Decal, and the Huntress Decal for Fennec. But, there's one item in particular that may pull you in: the Gravity Bomb Goal Explosion. Instead of being blasted away when a goal is scored, this Goal Explosion sucks in the cars with its gravitational pull! Check out some of the items featured in the Momentum Series in the slideshow below.
Gravity Bomb will be available in the Item Shop tomorrow at 1 p.m. PDT (8 p.m. UTC) for 48 hours. Be sure to check back each day to catch a glimpse at some of the new items, including Painted and Special Edition variants!

Made improvements to Bump and Demolition detection
CHANGES AND UPDATES
Demolitions and Bumping
Based on player feedback, we are making some improvements to Bump and Demolition detection. It is important to note that even with these fixes, Bumps and Demos will never be perfect in online play due to latency. However, after testing these changes with a variety of prominent community members & esports players, we feel this is a positive change that will reduce inconsistencies.
The rules to trigger a Demolition are now as follows:
Supersonic Check [UNCHANGED]
You are in the Supersonic State (trails visible/active on wheels)
Supersonic State activates at 2200 speed (max speed is 2300)
Going below 2100 speed instantly exits the Supersonic State
Going below 2200 speed, but above 2100, remains Supersonic for one second before exiting unless you accelerate back above 2200
Speed Check [UNCHANGED]
Your speed in your forward direction is at least 2100 at the time of impact
Forward Hit Check [NEW]
The line connecting your Center of Mass to the Impact Location is within 40 degrees of your forward direction
Victim Hit Check [NEW]
The line connecting the Impact Location to the Victim’s Center of Mass is within [55-90] degrees of your forward direction
This angle scales based on the Forward Hit Check result
For all impacts within 35 degrees of your forward direction, this check uses a 90 degree angle
For impacts between 35 and 40 degrees of your forward direction, this check scales linearly from 90 degrees down to 55. This reduces “sideswipe” demos and other undesirable use cases
Bumps use the same set of requirements minus the speed / supersonic checks.
Shout out to Rocket_Sledge, Lethamyr, amustycow, Rocket Science, HoraryHellfire2, Turbopolsa, Rizzo, and Sizz for help with testing and feedback!

At last, the fan-favorite Limited Time Mode, Heatseeker, has returned for the final weekend of the Modes of May! And that's not all. 2XP Weekend will be live throughout the weekend too!
In case you missed it when it debuted in April, Heatseeker is a rapid 3v3 mode where the ball automatically seeks the net. Every time the ball is touched, or it hits the backboard, it increases speed, so be ready to send it back to your opponents. First to seven goals wins! You can find the Limited Time mode in the Play Online menu under the Heatseeker tab.
Heatseeker, along with all other Online Modes, will grant double the amount of base experience via the "+100% special event XP Bonus." This includes all Casual, Competitive, and Extra Mode Playlists.
Both Heatseeker and 2XP are live now and will last until Tuesday, May 26 at 9 a.m. PDT (4 p.m. UTC). Enjoy both before they're gone. Good luck and have fun!

Check out the official start and end times below, and enjoy Heatseeker and 2XP through the weekend!

Here comes the BOOM! Boomer Ball is live all weekend as part of Rocket League's Modes of May!
Popularized by the Rocket League community, Boomer Ball has fun with mutators and puts a high-flying, lightning-fast twist on 3v3 soccar. Boost amount is unlimited and is now 1.5x stronger than typical boost. That means it launches you farther and faster than the standard boost you're used to. The ball speed is set to super fast, bounciness is increased to super high, and ball physics are super light. Touch the ball and see just how far and fast you can launch it!
Enjoy Boomer Ball until Monday, May 18 at 9 a.m. PDT (4 p.m. UTC). Find it in the Boomer Ball tab in the Play Online menu. Check back next week when the Modes of May wraps up with Heatseeker! Have fun with Boomer Ball!
Get ready for the BOOM! Boomer Ball is going live as the third Limited Time Mode featured during the Modes of May. Before it goes live on Thursday, here's everything you need to know about Rocket League's newest mode.
Boomer Ball plays with mutators to put a high-flying, lightning-fast twist on 3v3 soccar. Other than that, standard soccar rules apply.
Boomer Ball was popularized by Rocket League's creative community, so we're excited to add it as a casual Online Playlist this weekend. Look out for it starting Thursday at 9 a.m. PDT (4 p.m. UTC) until Monday at 9 a.m. PDT (4 p.m. UTC). We hope you enjoy this frantic Limited Time Mode throughout the weekend!
Who's up for some fun in the sun? Beach Ball is live in Rocket League now until Monday, May 11 at 9 a.m. PDT (4 p.m. UTC). It's the second Limited Time Mode featured during the Modes of May!
Hit the beaches of Salty Shores in this feelgood, 2v2 mode. The typical Rocket League ball has been transformed into a beach ball, making it lighter and causing hits to curve. The curves can be difficult to predict, so be ready!
You can find the unranked mode in the Play Online menu under the Beach Ball tab. Matches played will grant the same amount of XP as other modes, so you'll still Tier Up your Rocket Pass at the same speed as other Playlists.
Different Limited Time Modes will be featured each weekend throughout the Modes of May. Be sure to play later this month when Boomer Ball and Heatseeker arrive! Good luck, and have fun!
