The SteamVR application in Steam now has a beta called "openvr-inputemulator-temporary". You can opt-in under the betas tab in SteamVR properties. This beta does not require a password.
We are currently working on an updated input system in SteamVR that will allow users to remap controls for any game for any controller. The new input system isn't finished yet, but part of this work changed internal interfaces that OpenVR-InputEmulator relies on.
The openvr-inputemulator-temporary beta will allow the author of that utility time to make any necessary changes. This beta will be available until January 22nd, 2018. After that point all users will fall back the "opt out of all betas" state and use the default build of SteamVR.
If you have used any other method to try to roll back to an old version of SteamVR, we recommend that you uninstall and reinstall SteamVR to ensure that you have only the content from Steam.

SteamVR has been updated with the following changes. This build is identical to the beta update from January 5th.
General:
Base stations and cameras will no longer show up when the SteamVR keyboard is displayed over an application.
Display solid color (green/blue) in headset when workstation is locked.
Added desktop setting to disable above functionality.
MacOS:
Corrects “Missing File” failure to launch SteamVR directly from Steam on some systems, especially 10.13.2.
Fixes bug where tracking can’t start on new 10.13.2 installs
SteamVR Home:
Fixed lag on freeze tool in multiplayer
Fixed lag on held drawings in multiplayer
Unrecognized controllers now fall back to the SteamVR render model instead of the generic controller.
Linux:
Fixed corruption with OpenGL applications when Advanced Supersample Filtering is enabled on Linux
Windows:
Added a runtime dependency on the Visual Studio 2017 redistributable package. This package is automatically installed when SteamVR is run if it isn't currently installed.
Chaperone:
Disallow overriding driver provided chaperone data. This should fix the “headset stuck in floor” issue some users have run into due to using external programs to modify SteamVR’s chaperone file.
