All hell has broken loose in the streets of Gotham City and inside The Midnight Masquerade Nightclub! Go to the East End safehouse in Gotham City and speak to the Phantom Stranger (Heroes) or The Tap Room in Burnley and speak to Tala (Villains) to receive further instructions. To queue for “The Midnight Masquerade,” go into your On Duty UI and look under the Events Tab. There are also new feats and new collections to be found for those brave enough!

The Gotham Time Capsule features a mix of classic and future-looking new gear, styles, and items inspired by the heroes and villains of Gotham City. Each Gotham Time Capsule contains one sub-capsule (more on that below) and items from a general list of rewards, including the all-new currency, Quarks, Soder Cola Ultimates, R&D Exobytes, complex materials, collections, and more.

Each capsule may also contain the new, ultra rare BOX OF THUGS, which is a variant version of the Back-Up/Henchmen trinket where you can choose between a set of Joker Goons or Riddler Goons as seen in Episode 29: Riddled With Crime.

Inspired by the suit worn by Terry McGinnis in BATMAN BEYOND, the Beyond High-Tech gear and style set is at once sleek, classic, and out of this world. Each gear piece has a chance to drop in each Gotham Gear sub-capsule. When consumed, the pieces will become level-appropriate to your character. If you want to trade them, be sure to do so BEFORE you attune them!

Additionally, the Beyond styles can be upgraded into the Enhanced Beyond styles, with more detailed texturing and future tech. Enhanced styles are created using R&D recipes and Beyond Motes, also found in the Time Capsule. 

 



Gotham City is filled with criminals, nutjobs, and psychopaths. And there's one hero dedicated to taking them down. Show your support with the emblems from the Gotham Emblem Capsule. From left to right, you see emblems inspired by Catwoman, The Riddler, Man-Bat, Bane, Harley Quinn, Scarecrow, and the al Ghuls. , Bane, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, Man-Bat, The Riddler, and Scarecrow. Oh, in the middle there? That's the Batman Rebirth emblem.

Collect them all for special feats, and remember each emblem can also be upgraded using Beyond motes into enhanced, emissive versions.  

 



For the Gotham Collectors Capsule, we pulled out all the stops and have three, that's THREE, new auras: The Riddle Me This aura, the Sandstorm aura, and the Energy Vortex Aura. Taking on the villains of Gotham City is a tough job, so don't hold back. 

 

NEW CURRENCY: QUARKS

Quarks are a new currency found in Time Capsules and spent in the new Rewards From Time And Space vendor (more on those rewards below). You'll receive Quarks in Time Capsules in two ways:

• Quarks come in every Time Capsule you open, in addition to everything else you are used to finding in Time Capsules. 
• Each time you open a sub-capsule, you will have a choice in the loot picker of the regular reward OR (if you don't want that) an extra batch of Quarks. 
• Quarks are shared across and useable by all characters on your account.

NEW VENDOR: REWARDS FROM TIME AND SPACE 

The Rewards From Time And Space vendor is new with Game Update 75, and features a wide variety of new rewards available for Quarks. Those rewards range from several consumable and early game supplies, to gear that will automatically level to you, to incredible new Auras and Materials. Make sure to check out the top reward, the Resplendent Cache! Keep reading for details!

New Materials



Two all-new materials are available for Quarks, the Stealth material and the Blue Smoke material. The Stealth material is perfect for those of you who trend toward ninja or wish to lurk unseen in the night. It is a new kind of material that replaces the texture of your style while retaining the geometry and details of that style, while also adding a rich and highly detailed cloth vibe that shimmers in the light. The Blue Smoke material closely matches the Blue Smoke aura, and we recommend using both together for maximum effect!


New Modular Auras



A set of "modular" auras are also available on the Rewards From Time And Space vendor. What do we mean by Modular? We have variant versions of the new Energy Cell aura that apply the aura to certain areas of your character's body. 

For example, the first image is the Hands variant, the second is the Head variant, and the third is the Head, Hands, and Feet variant. All are the Energy Cell aura, but with this additional layer of customization and option for your characters. 


Tactical Mod Box

The Tactical Mod box is a box of, you guessed it, tactical mods previously found in Time Capsules. There is a box specifically for each powerset. When you open your capsule, you will be able to choose between two random tactical mods from that powerset.

Bonus: Water now has tactical mods and they are available through this box.  


Bombardier Gear Box

Looking to gear up? You got it. The Bombardier Gear Box features gear that will automatically level to you (capped below the latest episode's gear). When you open the box, you will get to choose which gear slot you prefer. Especially of note, this gear will use the much sought-after Avatar Bombardier style. Go nuts!


Training Supply Kit

The Training Supply Kit is great for newer characters in the process of leveling. It includes 3 XP-Plus Booster Boxes, 12 Soder Cola Ultimates, and a random gear piece from the Bombardier Gear Box. 


Crafting Supply Kit

The Crafting Supply Kit is great for anyone looking to get into R&D. It includes 5 Complex Materials and 15 Complex Materials. 


Compound Omega Stash

The Compound Omega Stash is pretty straight forward. It includes 5 Compound Omegas that increase your Health, Power, Restoration, Vitalization and Dominance, Precision, and Might for 30 minutes. 


The Resplendent Cache



To cap things off, the Resplendent Cache is the most prized offering on the Rewards From Time And Space vendor. It is a massive bundle featuring the Opalescent material, the Diamond Mist aura (full body), and seven - count 'em, SEVEN - modular Diamond Mist aura variants (Head, Hands, Feet, Right Hand, Hands and Feet, Hands and Head, and finally Head, Hands, and Feet. The cache also comes with a four-star feat and title, "the Champion of Life."

A gang war is brewing between the Joker and the Riddler, and has pulled in some of Gotham’s worst of the worst to choose sides to ally with in an epic power struggle! This is bad news for both heroes and villains alike, so you’ll need to work with the likes of Batwoman, Nightwing, and even the mysterious Talia Al Ghul to help the GCPD with containing this conflict before it tears Gotham City apart. The episode features new missions in a new open world environment, two new duos, a new alert, and a new raid (with an additional Elite version)!

New Raid and Elite Raid: Gotham City Zoo

All is finally revealed with who is behind this gang war in a final showdown at the Gotham City Zoo! It’s up to you to stop their nefarious plot and save all of Gotham from a fate too terrifying to imagine!

Episode 29 launches on September 20, 2017, so get ready this weekend with bonus currency across the game!  

This weekend – from Thursday, September 14, through Sunday, September 17 – all players will receive bonus War Bonds in Age of Justice (Episode 28), bonus Ancient Coins in Amazon Fury Part III (Episode 27), AND bonus Marks of Victory in all On Duty content (Episodes 1-28). These currencies are used for unlocking vendor gear and other item rewards throughout the game. 

The bonus weekend will begin this Thursday (September 14) with daily server restarts, and last through Sunday (September 17) to daily server restarts on Monday morning.

You may remember from our previous announcement that this episode takes us back to Gotham City. A Gotham without the Dark Knight. A Gotham at war. When the Bat's away…the rats will play.

In Riddled With Crime, the city is in peril as some of our most iconic villains are vying for power, taking sides, and battling each other. But the people of Gotham needn’t worry too much – Batwoman and Nightwing are on the case and working with the GCPD to keep things from spiraling out of control. Talia al Ghul has also stepped out of the shadows to help, her motives her own. For now, she’s displeased with the Gotham villain’s unsanctioned war and even more displeased that her beloved, Batman, is still missing.




Amusement Mile Gang War (Open World Missions)

The Riddler made the first move in this wicked game of chess, sending his hired goons to take on the Joker’s clowns at the Amusement Mile. The entire area is a mess, filled with goons and gangsters from all walks of Gotham. A schism forms down the center of Gotham’s most notorious villains, each taking a side. The Joker vs The Riddler. This is where you will find Batwoman or Talia ready to give you the latest information, and the latest open-world missions to assist each side in an effort to burn up this powder keg of destruction.

This revamped open world area features many daily and weekly open world missions and bounties, and will be available to all players level 10 and up during a special limited-time preview.
 

Turf War: Team Joker & Turf War: Team Riddler (2-Player Duos)

After reporting to the Amusement Mile, it won’t take long for Talia or Batwoman to give you an update – some of Gotham’s worst (best?) villains are attacking critical locations like Cape Carmine and Ace Chemicals. In the On Duty menu, you’ll be able to queue for two separate duos, one to work for the Joker’s team, the other the Riddler. You’ll definitely want to do both, of course.


Rise of the Bat (4-Player Operation)

During Rise of the Bat, a break-in at WayneTech will lead to more clues about what really lurks in the shadows, and now it's a race against time - back to the Batcave! All of the mysteries behind this gang war will soon be revealed.




Gotham City Zoo (8-Player Raid & Elite Raid)

The epic finale to Riddled With Crime takes players to our newest (and one of our paws-down coolest) maps, the Gotham City Zoo! I don’t want to spoil too much, but the art team killed it with this new environment, and if you pay attention to all of the clues along the way, you’ll have a pretty good idea of what's happening here and the true meaning behind all of the commotion in Gotham City.

Of course, we have a MUCH more challenging version of the raid for the Elite version, with a few extra rewards. Hope it doesn’t make you go completely batty.



And to the victor, the spoils. Or at least that's what The Riddler and The Joker are banking on.

Riddle me this: what’s fashionable, powerful, and shrouded in mystery? The new gear suit in Episode 29! Inspired by the master of riddles himself, you can really roll your sleeves up and prepare to solve the world’s greatest riddles, and look good while doing it. The Elite version is even more stylish, with a few extra bells and whistles.



Additional styles in the Episode include the amazing Batwoman Mask (finally!) and one of the coolest-looking Omnipotence items I’ve ever seen. Wait until you get your hands (hand?) on it.

For you avid base item collectors, there’s tons of new items from the Zoo and the gang war. If you’re a fan or the Riddler, the Joker, or bats, you’re going to love these.

This episode's best gear remains obtainable on a vendor for a new currency – Marked Bills - along with additional style items, collection items, base items, and more. The episode's dropped gear will automatically attune to your average item level for upgrades as you go. Elite gear will require renown gained in the Elite raids, and the Omnipotence item will come from a collection.


I can't wait for everyone to see the new Gotham Zoo. The episode is planned to launch on September 20. You're going to have a roar of a good time.

This is where you will find Batwoman or Talia ready to give you the latest information, and the latest open-world missions to assist each side in an effort to burn up this powder keg of destruction.

This revamped open world area features many daily and weekly open world missions and bounties, and will be available to all players level 10 and up during a special limited-time preview.
 

Turf War: Team Joker & Turf War: Team Riddler (2-Player Duos)

After reporting to the Amusement Mile, it won’t take long for Talia or Batwoman to give you an update – some of Gotham’s worst (best?) villains are attacking critical locations like Cape Carmine and Ace Chemicals. In the On Duty menu, you’ll be able to queue for two separate duos, one to work for the Joker’s team, the other the Riddler. You’ll definitely want to do both, of course.


Rise of the Bat (4-Player Operation)

During Rise of the Bat, a break-in at WayneTech will lead to more clues about what really lurks in the shadows, and now it's a race against time - back to the Batcave! All of the mysteries behind this gang war will soon be revealed.




Gotham City Zoo (8-Player Raid & Elite Raid)

The epic finale to Riddled With Crime takes players to our newest (and one of our paws-down coolest) maps, the Gotham City Zoo! I don’t want to spoil too much, but the art team killed it with this new environment, and if you pay attention to all of the clues along the way, you’ll have a pretty good idea of what's happening here and the true meaning behind all of the commotion in Gotham City.

Of course, we have a MUCH more challenging version of the raid for the Elite version, with a few extra rewards. Hope it doesn’t make you go completely batty.



And to the victor, the spoils. Or at least that's what The Riddler and The Joker are banking on.

Riddle me this: what’s fashionable, powerful, and shrouded in mystery? The new gear suit in Episode 29! Inspired by the master of riddles himself, you can really roll your sleeves up and prepare to solve the world’s greatest riddles, and look good while doing it. The Elite version is even more stylish, with a few extra bells and whistles.



Additional styles in the Episode include the amazing Batwoman Mask (finally!) and one of the coolest-looking Omnipotence items I’ve ever seen. Wait until you get your hands (hand?) on it.

For you avid base item collectors, there’s tons of new items from the Zoo and the gang war. If you’re a fan or the Riddler, the Joker, or bats, you’re going to love these.

This episode's best gear remains obtainable on a vendor for a new currency – Marked Bills - along with additional style items, collection items, base items, and more. The episode's dropped gear will automatically attune to your average item level for upgrades as you go. Elite gear will require renown gained in the Elite raids, and the Omnipotence item will come from a collection.


I can't wait for everyone to see the new Gotham Zoo. The episode is planned to launch on September 20. You're going to have a roar of a good time.
