CHIVALRY: DEADLIEST WARRIOR launched today on Steam and retails for $14.99. Based on the Spike TV series “Deadliest Warrior,”, the new expansion adds the lethal combat skills of the Samurai, Pirate, Spartan, Viking and Ninja to Chivalry’s iconic Knight.

“We want to thank everyone who participated in the beta and provided their feedback, resulting in great new content for Chivalry: Medieval Warfare,” said Steve Piggott, President of Torn Banner Studios. “We worked extremely hard to incorporate and balance the diverse play styles of the new warriors, and to create exciting new game modes and environments. I think this expansion offers a refreshing change of pace and style from the base game and believe that Chivalry owners will be pleasantly surprised by how unique Chivalry: Deadliest Warrior is as a separate experience. ”

Dan Yang, General Manager of 345 Games adds: “Chivalry: Deadliest Warrior enhances the exceptional first-person combat style of Chivalry that is enjoyed by over a million players, by speeding up and broadening the gameplay. It also takes the Deadliest Warrior franchise from one-on-one combat to the battlefield.”

Ninja: A swift stealth warrior with good crowd control abilities
Samurai: A versatile fighter with a broad arsenal of long range and melee weapons
Pirate: An effective skirmisher with access to gunpowder weapons
Viking: An all-out berserker that excels at overwhelming opponents at close range
Knight: A tank with superior armor with high-impact weapons

PLAYERS GO TO WAR IN 6 ALL-NEW ENVIRONMENTS.

Acropolis: An Ancient Greek Temple City
Bamboo Forest: A dark ninja village shrouded in mist
Fortress Garden: Traditional samurai stronghold

With extensive statistics, players can finally determine which warrior is deadliest. Battles can take place across six new game modes, which feature one-on-one combat, free for all, and capture the flag matches. Teams and warriors can be customized based on appearance, match types, customizable servers, taunts, and emblems – with some weapons and accessories only accessible after mastering a particular warrior’s technique.

CHIVALRY: DEADLIEST WARRIOR is now available on Steam for $14.99. The base game is required to play and is available for $24.99. Players can also purchase the game and expansion pack as a bundle.

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare
Deadliest Warrior

Games are great at solving ridiculous arguments. Who would win in a fight between Batman and Spider-Man? Or between pirates and Spartans? Or between motorbicyclist Valentino Rossi and former Guns 'n Roses guitarist Slash? You could spend hours in the pub imagining and solving these vital conundrums, or you could just turn to games. Sure, the answers would be no more definitive, but at least there's a time limit on bouts.

And precisely one of those examples is the subject of Chivalry: Deadliest Warrior, the alt-history battle royale expansion for Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. The DLC pack is due out on the 14th of November, and a new trailer has been released, giving you an idea of what to expect.

That trailer comes in two flavours: an original and extended cut. I'm posting the latter, because if you've not got the time to watch a two minute video, what are you even doing browsing a PC gaming website? If you really are pressed for time - or just don't want to listen to grown men screaming at each other for that long - here's the regular version.

The game will give you the chance to side with the Samurais, Spartans, Vikings, Knights, Ninjas and Pirates, in a variety of maps each themed around one side's home turf. It also features a new game mode, called "Multi-Team", pitting all six warrior types against each other at once.

Chivalry: Deadliest Warrior will cost £12/$15.

We are happy to announce that the Software Development Kit (SDK) for Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is now live! It will be easier than ever to create and install mods into Chivalry: Medieval Warfare. This does not currently include the Steam Workshop. Prior to setting the Steam Workshop live, we need to ensure it is working properly.

If you are interested uploading maps to the workshop, please join the Steam group.
Only those in this group will be able to see and upload to the steam workshop. The more content we can get uploaded to the Workshop, the faster we can release it to the general public. Custom code mods such as game modes are not currently supported in the Workshop.

    Current Functionality:
  • Modded Server browser support (different colors for servers with custom maps, custom code; additional column with mod name).
  • Closed Workshop support for maps (join the steam group to upload maps).
  • Auto Downloads when joining a modded server.

Some things to look forward to:

  • Public Workshop uploading.
  • Workshop download tool for servers (can run as a schedule task / rcon job).
  • Workshop support for mods with custom code

    SDK Changes:

  • Improved and expanded error messages
  • Cooking and Workshop uploading process changed to include a GUID:
-- Do the first cook the same way
-- The cook will create a directory like CookedSDK\AOCSDKLevels_E1ED54B24E9F8DE8C917B1ABC51E4040
-- The GUID is the bit after the underscore
-- Edit your workshop upload file (e.g. wsinfo_SDKTest.txt); put the _whole_ directory name in the "$PackageDirectory" variable, including the GUID part
    -- Upload as before
-- Next time you cook this package, if you want to upload to the same workshop file, add this to the COOK.bat: "-Guid=ZZZ" (without the quotation marks), where ZZZ is replaced with the GUID for your package (in the last example, E1ED54B24E9F8DE8C917B1ABC51E4040)

    Important Information:

  • If you are opted into the Steam Client Beta (https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Betas), you will not be able to successfully join a Workshop server. You will get the message “"Can't download Workshop information".

  • Getting started with map editing https://tornbannerjira.atlassian.net/wiki/display/CHIVCOM/Getting+started+with+map+editing

  • Uploading to Steam Workshop https://tornbannerjira.atlassian.net/wiki/display/CHIVCOM/Uploading+to+Steam+Workshop
