Partner Programme member Aerosoft brings the detailed and scenic Rhine Valley Railway between Freiburg and Basel to Train Simulator!



The line is one of the most important in Germany, ferrying local and international passenger and freight traffic, almost always operating at peak capacity. Two of Europe’s largest marshalling yards are present along the railway to host the level of freight traffic it gets.

The route from Aerosoft is set around 2013/14 and covers the 60 km section between Freiburg (Germany) and Basel (Switzerland), including the newly built high-speed line, taking the route to over 80 km of expertly crafted railway which will be yours to explore. Combine that with 2 locomotives, the DB BR 111 and 189, plus the addition of the DB BR 401 ‘ICE 1’, you will soon have a package unlike any other, so keep an eye out for more on the Rhine Valley: Freiburg – Basel route, available now!

An update has arrived today for the WCML Over Shap Route Add-On:

We have resolved an issue with a Quick Drive setting that resulted in a failure to load and added an image so that it now displays appropriately in the Route Database.

We hope this resolves some problems with the route, please let us know if you have any issues.

The Halloween Sale isn't all that's going on this week! We've also released a new patch to address some problems with specific locos working in 64-bit and some other minor fixes:


UPDATE: This fixes have now also been applied to the CPRR 4-4-0 No. 60 ‘Jupiter’ Steam Loco

Updated the Damper logic. At >10 mph, there is a positive damper effect (hotter fire) only if the damper facing the direction of travel is closed and the other is open. At <= 10mph, there is a positive damper effect (hotter fire) if either one or both of the two dampers are open.

Fixed the rolling stock so that it doesn't roll away when parked on a steep grade.

Approximate download size is 21MB.


This corrects the name you see on the outside of the Buffalo cab when looking down at it in cab view and also moves the cylinder cock emitters to line up with the actual cocks.

These updates resolve control issues when playing in Train Simulator 64-bit.
