Survivors, we are back with another batch of new content and improvements for Dying Light!
Let’s start with new features we hope you’ll enjoy:
we’ve set a new type of enemy loose, so keep an eye out for Silver Hazmat – Gas Tank’s more deadly variation
if you wish to play Dying Light without live events, you can now turn them off and on via Options -> Online -> Live events. This is visible only during a live event
new section in the game’s main menu shows available DLCs and lets you access them easily
additional dockets are now supported (more info coming soon!)
We also sorted out some issues:
if you have VAC disabled and want to join someone who has VAC on, the game will prompt you that doing so will enable VAC, and let you accept or decline
Let's take a look how fun it was to play with Hyper Mode and Super Crane at the same time! This time you really outdid yourselves with that final score in the community goal! THANK YOU!
Is there anything better than cracking open a cold one by a barbeque on a warm summer evening?
How about cracking open some zombie skulls with your fists? Get ready for Summer Madness, a zombie slaughtering extravaganza that brings back your two favorite game modes – Hyper Mode and Super Crane – combined. Yes, you can enjoy superhuman punches and enhanced grappling hook at the same time!
Can you become an ultimate zombie slayer?
Log in to the game and prove yourself in 3 challenges:
Raining Zombies – throw 200 zombies off buildings [Personal Goal]
Fists of Madness – kill 200 zombies with bare fists [Personal Goal]
Global Community Goal – kill 6 000 000 zombies with bare fists and by throwing them off buildings
If you’re looking to get something out of this (besides pure fun of obliterating the living dead with style, that is), rest assured you will. Completing each personal goal will earn you a docket code for a gold-tier weapon. Reaching the Global Community Goal means another gold-tier docket for all who pitched in.
The event is available till July 9th, 7.00 p.m. CET.
Good luck, Runners!
P.S. On Monday, July 8th at 6.00 p.m. CET our community manager Kuba will join the madness here on Steam with a special stream, so get ready to hit that party too!
And please do let us know what else you would like to see in Dying Light, because when we say we appreciate your feedback, we don’t just say that!
Your undying support throughout the years means a world to us, so we do our best to repay you by constantly improving Dying Light and adding features that let you enjoy the game to the fullest.
We are happy to inform our friends from Turkey, Thailand, and China that we heard their requests for additional languages support.
As of now, you will find three new languages in subtitles settings:
Thai
Traditional Chinese
Turkish
We’ve also got a present for Dying Light fans in Thailand:
Thai national outfit
Last but not least, while we were looking under the hood, we identified an issue with mods and fixed it, so:
modded content no longer crashes when using random spawners in mods
Do not hesitate to let us know how else we can improve Dying Light. We truly appreciate your feedback!
All week at E3 we’ve had journalists from all over the world paying us a visit to check out Dying Light 2. We’ve been honored by the positive response and the 40+ awards and nominations received.
Shortly after we debuted our brand new trailer we had an exclusive interview with Lead Designer Tymon Smektała:
And then it was time for the world’s media to check out a private demo of the game. Check out these top quotes and use the links to read the full articles:
"Dying Light 2 impressed me from the very beginning of the demo, and set up high expectations. With a gorgeous world, smooth combat, impressive parkour, and lofty choice-driven ambitions, Dying Light 2 has quickly become one of my most anticipated games of 2020." "What I was not prepared for . . . was its consistent capacity to scare me senseless. . . . Watching it in action is as breathtaking as the game’s melee focused combat is brutal, and solidifies Techland’s status as the undisputed king of video game parkour." "Plenty of developers say you’ll have an impact on their game, but few truly deliver. Dying Light 2 is melding story and mechanics in ways I’ve rarely (if ever) seen. . . . Open worlds have been static backdrops for almost two console generations. It’s exciting to see someone finally do something with one of these sprawling maps." "You can swing, grapple, leap, wall run, and blend all of this together to create runs that would make Mirror’s Edge blush. . . . It’s fast, fluid, and I can’t wait to try it all out for myself." Read more on VG247: https://www.vg247.com/2019/06/11/dying-light-2-e3-preview/
