Survivors, we're back with new content and improvements for Dying Light!
First, let's talk about the latest patch 1.21:
We've added new types of live events
Some minor bugs are now gone
The issue with crashes in The Old Town for the Japanese version of the game is now fixed
That's not all, because today Dying Light meets Left 4 Dead 2 in an exciting crossover event!
Two infected worlds collide and you will be in the thick of it. As a homage to Valve’s magnificent co-op zombie shooter, we brought Left 4 Dead 2 into Dying Light in an exciting crossover event!
To recreate the memorable feel of L4D2 in our game, we’ve introduced some gameplay tweaks. Expect a lot of Virals, whose numbers we’ve increased to push the attacking hordes into overdrive and intensify your fight for survival as you face waves of infected coming for you. To even out the odds and shift combat towards Valve-esque territory, we’re also more generous with guns and ammo for you to find.
We’re sure you’re gonna love what comes next! The icing on the cake is the inclusion of three iconic Left 4 Dead 2 melee weapons: Electric Guitar, Frying Pan, and Golf Club. You will find the blueprints in the free DLC, but the most badass variants (orange and gold) are available as rewards for completing challenges and three special Bounties during the event. Go get these toys and have fun delivering crushing riffs, serving killer dishes, and improving your golf swings!
So, survivors, remember about these things:
Quartermaster will be giving out free guns for those ready for the hunt
Safe Zones will give you the ammunition you need
And, once more, these are the new weapons available now:
Frying Pan
Electric Guitar
Golf Club
Don't want to participate? No problem! You can disable the event by going to Options -> Online -> Community Event Participation
Survivors, to say you outdid yourselves in the recent Airdrop Reinforcements event would be a huge understatement. We crunched the numbers and WOW! How impressive are those stats! Just look at them and let us remind you that we asked you to open 100,000 crates in total.
We appreciate your undying support and remember that we hear you, so don’t hesitate to suggest how we can improve the game to make it even more enjoyable for you.
As you have surely guessed, it’s all about airdrops this time.
Get ready to fight 4-person squads of Rais’ goons in Old Town or rush across Slums to lay your hands on those precious crates. It’s gonna be worth the effort, because we put some special goodies inside some of them. Besides instant bonus XP, double rewards from quartermasters, and a guaranteed Recursion Pack,
Opening a crate may grant you:
twice the default drop (medkits or jewels)
a very rare Wolfclaw machete blueprint
a machete of random rarity (including a gold one!)
a random weapon upgrade
On top of that you will receive 3 King weapon mod dockets if the community reaches the global goal, and a Rais Elite T-shirt when you complete your personal Airdrop Junkie challenge.
Remember that you can get Dying Light with a 66% discount!
Survivors, we are back with another batch of new content and improvements for Dying Light!
Let’s start with new features we hope you’ll enjoy:
we’ve set a new type of enemy loose, so keep an eye out for Silver Hazmat – Gas Tank’s more deadly variation
if you wish to play Dying Light without live events, you can now turn them off and on via Options -> Online -> Live events. This is visible only during a live event
new section in the game’s main menu shows available DLCs and lets you access them easily
additional dockets are now supported (more info coming soon!)
We also sorted out some issues:
if you have VAC disabled and want to join someone who has VAC on, the game will prompt you that doing so will enable VAC, and let you accept or decline
