In case you need more points to spend on the bundles, the Settlers of Kalguur Supporter Packs are still available in the store and coincidentally enough one of them already comes with a full Armour Set themed around Paladin! In addition, all Supporter Packs contain a set of exclusive microtransactions that will not be available for purchase ever again once they leave the store. Take a look at the contents of these packs below:
This weekend we’re also offering one free Settlers Mystery Box when you spend any amount of points in the store in Path of Exile 1 or Path of Exile 2. Purchasing a supporter pack will not grant a free Mystery Box but spending points from a supporter pack can grant a free Mystery Box. Please also note that while it’s currently not possible to open the free box in Path of Exile 2, you will still receive it and should be able to open it in Path of Exile 1 client or just wait until we add support for Mystery Boxes in Path of Exile 2 (which should not take long).
Players who have unlocked all microtransactions from the Settlers Mystery Box will receive two Polaris Mystery Boxes instead.
If you’re looking for a truly grim outfit as well as some more Mystery Boxes to open, this season’s Kirac’s Vault Pass has it all! Last week we revealed all the details for the upcoming Legacy of Phrecia event in Path of Exile 1, but there are still a number of improvements we're making to the event. Check them out in this news post
Faustus has discovered a supplier of Idols and is now selling them in his Black Market. You’ll be able to gamble for Idols with Gold during the event.
You’ll be able to sell your excess Idols to a vendor in exchange for new ones. For example if you sell three magic idols of the same base, you’ll receive one random magic idol of the same base type.
Isla has developed a new attachment for her Prototype Recombinator. It can now recombinate Idols together!
There are also some new Unique Idols that can alter the content you decide to run. For example the Twisted Wish Unique Idol will make Ultimatum Modifiers start a tier higher if possible while reducing the chance of certain rewards allowing you to target the rewards you want.
The Legacy of Phrecia event begins Thursday 12PM February 20th PST. See you there!
Embrace the Legacy of Phrecia in an upcoming Path of Exile 1 event next Thursday, February the 20th (PST)! Enhance your build with one of the new 19 Ascendancy classes and shape the endgame experience with the new Idol system. By reaching certain level thresholds in the Legacy of Phrecia event you will also receive pieces of the Autumn Knight Armour Set!
Start Date: 12PM February 20th PSTEnd Date: 1PM March 23rd PDT Based on: Settlers of Kalguur Platforms: PC and ConsolesStandard, Hardcore, Standard Solo Self-Found and Hardcore Solo Self-Found versions available. The event also has a Ruthless mode available which uses the same Ascendancy Classes as non-Ruthless versions. This event is not voided. Items and characters will transfer to parent leagues at the end of the event. Upon migration, your characters’ Ascendancy points will be respecced and you'll be assigned one of the core Ascendancy classes.
In the Legacy of Phrecia event, all the 19 Ascendancy classes you are familiar with will be replaced with new ones. Become a Servant of Arakaali and raise spiders to fight alongside you; use the powers of nature itself as the Daughter of Oshabi or just ascend into a Harbinger - this event manifests the wildest ideas of our design team into reality. Explore the Ascendancy Classes available in the Legacy of Phrecia below (the Scavenger Ascendancy for Scion will be revealed early next week):
Ranger
Daughter of Oshabi
As an Azmeri, the daughter has a great respect for nature - particularly the forest. She shares many of the powers of the Warden of the Maji, as well as being empowered by Shrines or utilising Sacred Wisps to aid Wand attacks.
Whisperer
The Whisperer is a descendant of Inya of the Pale Court. She travels silently, imbuing her attacks with arcane powers. Investing in your Mana is core to taking advantage of many of her abilities.
Wildspeaker
The Wildspeaker worships the First Ones, a set of animalistic avatars from Ezomyte legend. Choose between the aspect of Farrul, first of the plains, or Saqawal, first of the sky. Her love for the animals of the forest grants her several abilities that aid her allies in battle.
Marauder
Antiquarian
This Karui Collector hails from the port of Ngakanu. Over the course of his long career he has traded for historical artifacts, many of which he can employ in combat. Choose from Kalguuran relics, Karui trinkets used by legendary Chieftains or equipment from one of the great Karui enemies, General Marceus Lioneye.
Behemoth
The Behemoth abhors magic and the users of it. The truest form of combat should be hand to hand, up close and personal. The Behemoth gets progressively stronger throughout combat, gaining Rampage, Fortify and Rage.
Ancestral Commander
This Marauder calls the spirits of his Karui ancestors to his side to both protect him and strike foes down. Be comforted in the knowledge that you have generations of predecessors watching over you.
Shadow
Surfcaster
The Surfcaster is simply a Chill guy. His home is with the sea, for which he attunes to gain control of the Cold and Lightning elements. An expert fisherman himself you can reap great rewards for holding a Fishing Rod, if you can find him one.
Servant of Arakaali
Tempted by the Spinner of Shadows herself, the Servant does the bidding of the Queen. Arachnophobes stay away, because the Servant can both raise spiders to fight alongside or embrace the Aspect of the Spider to cover enemies in webs.
Blind Prophet
Little is known about who the Prophet worships, but it is suspected to be a subterranean evil. Blind from a young age, the Prophet has heightened their other senses through years of training, gaining prowess in projectile attacks, stealth and inflicting curses.
Witch
Harbinger
Become a Harbinger, manipulating the bounds of reality itself. The Harbinger specializes in Time Magic as well as summoning Harbinger allies from their homeworld to assist you in combat. As a bonus you also get to fly and be blue.
Herald
The Herald sees calamity in the future, hopefully only for your enemies. She forsakes auras to go all in on Herald skills, empowering them beyond being simply minor buffs.
Bog Shaman
This witch has taken up residence in a faraway bog, away from the putrid stench of humanity. She has brewed a set of toxins that she administers to herself daily to gain potent skills in exchange for but minor drawbacks.
Duelist
Gambler
Are you the kind of player who likes to play against the odds? This is the perfect class for risk lovers who want to experience the highest of highs, and potentially the lowest of lows. The Gambler specialises in betting on a high payoff and having lady luck take control.
Paladin
The Paladin is a Duelist who has taken a righteous path. He serves to better his allies in combat, protecting them from danger through Link and Aura skills as well as Taunting enemies.
Aristocrat
Born with a silver spoon in their mouth, the Aristocrat had access to the finest education in Oriath. Starting one step ahead in life grants the Aristocrat more passive skill points than any other class.
Templar
Architect of Chaos
A budding Vaal Architect, this disciple of Chaos experiments with all the deepest secrets of the Vaal. Many of his powers come with a cost. The Architect benefits from employing multiple Vaal skills in their arsenal and enhances equipped Corrupted items.
Polytheist
After a crisis of faith this Templar has decided to devote his worship between several of Wraeclast’s Pantheon of deities, with the aim of finding a new purpose in life. Powers familiar to each of the gods will be yours if you choose to pursue their paths.
Puppeteer
This Templar has desecrated the holy order by experimenting with Undead in his secret laboratory. His aim is reanimation, to command an army of flesh puppets to undertake his foul bidding.
Scion
Scavenger
This Scion has happened upon a heap of ‘trash’, discarded by other exiles, but for what reason? What exile could look at these curios and think they weren’t incredibly valuable? Well it is hers now, just to decide which to take as she can't carry them all.
In addition, the Atlas Passive Tree in this event (and this event only) has been replaced by a new system. As you progress through the endgame you'll find Idols, which can be placed into a new tab on the Map Receptacle UI to modify your maps. Find out more about the Idol system here. Note to Item Filter creators: use the new class ‘Idol’ to support Idols in your filters.
By reaching level 20, 40, 60 and 80 in the Legacy of Phrecia event, you’ll be able to earn pieces of the Autumn Knight Armour Set (Boots, Gloves, Body Armour and Helmet respectively). Just like the regular Challenge League rewards, the Autumn Knight Armour Set is earned exclusively in this event and will not be available for purchase. It will also be available for use in Path of Exile 2 if earned. Check it out!
Twitch Drops will be available for the first week of the event (12PM February 20th PST - 12PM February 27th). Watch your favourite streamer playing the Legacy of Phrecia and receive the Havenwood Cloak that perfectly accompanies the Autumn Knight Armour Set!
You will get the Havenwood Cloak after 2 hours of accumulated watch time on any channel streaming Path of Exile during the first week of the Legacy of Phrecia. This means that the drop is guaranteed for everyone who has watched any Path of Exile stream for this amount of time. This promotion is available for all accounts.
Visit your Twitch Settings page while logged in. If your account isn't connected, click the "Connect" button for Twitch under "Other Connections". Complete the process on Twitch and you will be redirected back to your Twitch Settings page. If your account is already connected, this page should say "Your Path of Exile account is currently linked to your Twitch account."
After you have accumulated enough watch time to earn your Havenwood Cloak, you must redeem it from your Twitch Inventory before they will be available in your microtransactions list in Path of Exile.
When the event begins on February 20th, just create a new character in either Standard or Hardcore Legacy of Phrecia event on the Character Selection screen. If you want to play SSF or Ruthless, don’t forget to select those options on the screen.
Will the Legacy of Phrecia event run on all platforms?
Yes. The event is available on PC and Consoles.
Can I play my existing character?
No, you’ll need to make a new character.
Can I change my Ascendancy class during the event?
Yes.
Will I receive multiple Autumn Knight Armour sets by levelling several characters in the event?
No, you will be able to receive only one Armour Set per account.
When will I receive a piece of the Armour Set?
A piece of the Autumn Knight Armour set will be awarded automatically upon reaching level 20, 40, 60 and 80 (you’ll receive Boots, Gloves, Body Armour and Helmet respectively).
Will you consider extending the event? One month feels like not enough time to try out everything.
We will consider extending the event based on its popularity, but we will also be adding alternate Ascendancy Classes and Idols Endgame system individually as Private League options some time after the event so you can experiment with them as long as you want.
Will the ongoing Necro Settlers event end when the Legacy of Phrecia begins?
Yes.
We hope you’ll have fun in the Legacy of Phrecia. Can’t wait to see the builds you make!
Since we revealed our plans for the Legacy of Phrecia event in Path of Exile 1, we've seen lots of questions from the community regarding the event. We'll be answering the most common ones in this news post, as well as showcasing three more Ascendancy classes!
More Ascendancy Classes
Check out the Daughter of Oshabi (Ranger), Antiquarian (Marauder) and Surfcaster (Shadow) Ascendancy classes below!
As an Azmeri, the daughter has a great respect for nature - particularly the forest. She shares many of the powers of the Warden of the Maji, as well as being empowered by Shrines or utilising Sacred Wisps to aid Wand attacks. The Surfcaster is simply a Chill guy. His home is with the sea, for which he attunes to gain control of the Cold and Lightning elements. An expert fisherman himself you can reap great rewards for holding a Fishing Rod, if you can find him one. We have a number of important questions we wanted to clarify. Here are some of our answers below, please keep them coming and we'll try to address as much of your feedback and questions as possible!
When is the event?
We will be announcing this very soon! Keep an eye out on upcoming announcements.
How powerful are the Idols? What is the expected amount of juicing compared to the Atlas Tree?
Idols can be found as either magic or rare items, they are unmodifiable but each modifier is approximately two to three times the power of a corresponding Atlas tree node. Not all stats are reflective of this however, for example if you had 100% chance to have Strongboxes be re-openable you'd be opening the same Strongbox all day, so in some cases the stats are more conservative values and in other cases they're higher like being able to get more Ritual rerolls and even reduce the cost of rerolls to be free. It is relatively difficult to describe the power difference between this system and the Atlas Tree but with a fully optimized set of Idols you could easily have more than three times the amount of different content or over three times the power of one type of content.
How do the Idols drop and how often are we expected to find an Idol?
The Idols are in the core drop pool and will start dropping at Endgame, they completely scale with juicing and there is also a static drop chance of 50% for them to drop from the final Map boss in Maps to alleviate randomness. It is not intended that you are at the whims of randomness to find these as they are the gateway to fun. As you get further into the endgame and start applying more juice to your maps you will find more and more of these, certainly getting many per map.
Is the Idols system replacing the Atlas Tree?
Only during this event. It is an old throw-away idea we didn't think would be good enough to replace the Atlas Tree. For this event we wanted to create an almost "alternate reality Wraeclast" vibe and thought this would be interesting to experience alongside the alternate Ascendancy class ideas also. After the event we will be adding the alternate Ascendancy Classes and alternate Endgame (Idols) to the Private League list so that people can have leagues with just one or the other at their leisure!
The Idol mechanic seems to be one that is lacking Quality of Life features, given the feedback are you considering improving this, or would you consider adding it during the event?
Yes. The original intention was to be able to deliver an event quickly to give something new and fresh to play to help fill the time until we can deliver an expansion. Given the popularity and feedback for this event we've decided to develop these ideas further so we are currently (literally at the time of writing this) now implementing a loadout like system for the Idols, hopefully this will be ready in time but if not it will be shortly into the event starting.
Is there a meta-system to the Idol mechanic?
Yes, initially there are locked slots (similar to Relics from Sanctum), you can unlock these slots by completing the same content that unlocks Favoured Map Slots. This will allow you to use the entire inventory and maximize your juice. You initially have access to 20 slots and can eventually unlock 12 to get a total of 32 slots.
Are there any rewards for participation in this event?
Yes! We will release a video for an armour set you will be able to earn by achieving level thresholds in this event. Currently we're aiming for Level 80 to attain all four pieces of the Armour Set.
Is this content being used as a testing grounds for future expansions or Path of Exile 2?
Not at all, as mentioned this was a throw-away development idea from the past, we have no current plans to use it for anything outside of being a future private league modifier.
There are concerns that one month isn't long enough, would you consider running this event or some deviation of it again? Or perhaps extending the duration?
We're completely open to running additional events in the future using these based on your feedback. We are also open to extending the duration to give players more time to experiment and find all the broken builds with the Ascendancy classes and give more opportunity to earn the armour set mentioned above. The intention here was to help fill the time until we can deliver the much desired and deserved expansion so we can extend events and run more to fill that time until 3.26.0 is ready so it depends on that!
Atlas nodes close to the tree origin bias hard toward map sustain. Will there be anything similar in Legacy of Phrecia, such as low ilvl Idols biasing hard toward map sustain?
We've just added Implicit modifiers to the Idols that grant x% increased chance to drop Maps. This should mean even if you find an Idol that isn't ideal for your strategy you can still use it to sustain more Maps.
Will the effect of Atlas Blocker nodes (such as Black Thumb – your maps cannot contain Harvests and cannot drop Harvest scarabs) be available?
These are available in the form of Unique Idols.
Will Legacy of Phrecia be parented to the Settlers league, to Standard, or something else?
Settlers League. When your characters are migrated out of the league their Ascendancy points are respecced and you'll be assigned one of the core Ascendancy classes.
Given that this is using Settlers League as a base, doing all the town upgrading again is becoming tiring, can there be a way to make this more efficient?
Yes, we will be making early upgrades in particular cheaper in Settlers leagues (including this event and the core league) to streamline this process.
The Legacy of Phrecia event will feature a new system for specialising in endgame content, replacing the existing Atlas Passive Skill Tree. As you progress through the endgame you'll find Idols, which can be placed into a new tab on the Map Receptacle UI to modify your maps.
Magic Idols can have up to two modifiers, Rare Idols can have up to four modifiers, and there are Unique Idols for Keystones from the Atlas Passive Skill Tree. Idols are tradeable but they are not modifiable.
This is a pretty drastic change to how the Endgame will play given the Atlas Tree has been such a fundamental part of the Endgame for some time, in many different formats and versions.
One of the major changes is that it turns specializing into different leagues to be less deterministic because it relies on you finding items. On the other hand it adds a layer of excitement to item drops in the Endgame not previously there.
This allows you to have an infinite number of different Endgame loadouts for content, no more respeccing your Tree at all, now just take out the Idols you don't want, and put in the ones you do. You'll probably end up with a set of Idols for each league.
With the Atlas Tree, you can only get so much of a given stat because that's how much we put on the tree, but with this system you can get a lot more of certain things pushing limits and boundaries further than ever. For example, if you want to have all Essences on monsters be at the highest possible tier, or a much higher number of Blueprints you find to be fully revealed
Given that this is an opportunity for us to let you play with more developmental concepts you can rest assured you'll find a bunch of broken outcomes in true Path of Exile fashion.
Full disclosure, due to these features being experimental for this event we haven't done the layers of Quality of Life that we would normally try to do to accompany it. For example you would want different inventories for different league sets or loadouts but instead during this event you will simply have to do the inventory management yourself. Based on the popularity of this system we can add more of these features in the future to streamline it to minimize item micro-management.
Given that players afterwards will likely want to experiment with the Ascendancy Classes or the alternate Endgame mechanic individually, we will be adding both of these as Private League options some time after the event.
We'll be posting the full details of the Legacy of Phrecia event later this week and will be teasing some more of the event Ascendancies in the meantime. If you missed them, the teasers can be found here.
Since we announced our plans for the Path of Exile 1 event a couple of days ago, we’ve been working on implementing all the ideas we’ve got for new Ascendancies. The event has also received an official name, the Legacy of Phrecia, to commemorate the great Emperor and the inspiration he gave us.
Over the next few days we’ll be showcasing all the Ascendancy classes we came up with, but as a start, take a look at Harbinger (Witch) and Gambler (Duelist). Please note that these are still work in progress and might be adjusted closer to the start of the event.
Harbinger (Witch)
Become a Harbinger, manipulating the bounds of reality itself. The Harbinger specializes in Time Magic as well as summoning Harbinger allies from their homeworld to assist you in combat. As a bonus you also get to fly and be blue.
Gambler (Duelist)
Are you the kind of player who likes to play against the odds? This is the perfect class for risk lovers who want to experience the highest of highs, and potentially the lowest of lows. The Gambler specialises in betting on a high payoff and having lady luck take control.
Given how rapidly we’re putting the Legacy of Phrecia event together, it’s hard to be certain on timelines, but we’ll announce early next week when this event will be running including as many details about it as possible.
We announced last week some unfortunate news regarding the timeline for 3.26.0 for Path of Exile 1. Coming out of that we have adjusted some of our internal resources to be able to provide you with some content to fill the time until that expansion arrives.
To start with we'll be running a one-month event that has some of our whacky ideas that never quite made it off the brainstorm board.
What does Path of Exile 1 look like when the nineteen Ascendancy Classes you know and are familiar with are all of a sudden replaced by a different nineteen? What does Path of Exile 1 look like when you get to play a Witch and ascend to become a Harbinger? These are the questions our design team asked each other and in this event will provide you with some of our answers.
We'll release more details about this content soon but we're really looking forward to seeing how the community reacts to some of our more unhinged ideas.
There's more to announce and we'll keep you updated as we know.
The ongoing Settlers of Kalguur expansion in Path of Exile 1 was launched in July 2024. Since the release of Path of Exile 2 in Early Access, our players have been asking about the future of Path of Exile 1 and the timeline for its next expansion. In this video Game Director Jonathan Rogers addresses the situation.
While this isn't the news many of you were hoping to hear, we’ll continue to improve the structure of our studio to ensure we’re in a position to deliver our promise of releasing updates to both Path of Exile 1 and Path of Exile 2.
Thank you for all of your support over the years. We'll provide you with further updates as soon as we’re ready.
