Continuing with our series of Divination Card Stories from supporters, we wanted to share ixtermanator's story about their Divination Card, "A Dusty Memory". Check it out!
I started playing Path of Exile at the start of 2014 amidst the Nemesis and Domination leagues. At the time I was in high school and would often look at free to play games on Steam. Eventually I found Path of Exile which has become a constant enjoyment in my life. Through good times and bad, through awesome leagues and less amazing leagues, I could always come back to Path of Exile as something to escape with. While playing I heard that some players had been able to help design their own uniques, and even a mob. I thought that was such a cool thing, especially for a game I loved and spent so much time with. Thankfully I was able to acquire the ability to design a Divination Card before they became unavailable. However I sat on my design for a couple of years because I wanted to make something meaningful to both myself and hopefully to the awesome Path of Exile community as well.
Another constant positive force in my life was my family dog, Dusty. He was a small, excited and loveable dog. Everyday when I would get home after another rough long day of school he would be there to cheer me right up, or sit in my lap and cuddle while watching entertainment. No matter what was happening Dusty was always there for me. He helped me through many difficult times in my life. Unfortunately in 2020 Dusty passed due to some medical issues he had his whole life complicating further. This was, and in some ways still is, very hard on me losing my best friend. Thankfully part of what helped me get through that was Path of Exile as something to find enjoyment in during that difficult time.
Once in a while I would try and think of an idea for what kind of Divination Card I wanted to make. However I never really found an idea that I enjoyed until I thought of this card in a different way. I tried to think of what kind of thing in Path of Exile was my favorite to find. Interestingly I came to realize fractured items were among my favorite things to find pretty quickly, because as a solo self found player every time I found a fractured item it meant I could have an awesome new base to craft on with a constant mod. Fractured items have helped me progress through several of my SSF characters. Sometimes fractured items can even drop with an insane mod locked in, but the highest tier mods are usually harder to get fractured naturally as their item level can be an issue. The rest of the card fell into place very nicely. I knew that I would like to involve my beloved dog, Dusty, as part of the card in some way. The fact that no other Divination Cards rewarded fractured items was just icing on the cake. Since fractured items were connected to the Synthesis league, which I thought was a fun league, the choice of this card being themed around memory became very apparent and flavorful. It amazed me at how much the pieces fit together to form "A Dusty Memory", it just felt right in every aspect.
Dusty holds a special place in my heart and I hope that my Divination Card "A Dusty Memory" can give players some awesome consistency, with fractured items, to their characters.

We had a chat with Denipon about her life inside and outside of Path of Exile! If you're looking for a cozy stream to chill out in with friendly community members, Denipon should be your go to! Check out the interview below!
Hi Denipon, thank you for taking part in the interview! Please introduce yourself.
Thank you so much for inviting me! My name is Deni but, you might know me as denipon! I stream Path of Exile over on twitch.tv/denipon almost everyday!
When did you first get into Path of Exile?
It took me a few tries to really get into Path of Exile. My friend EZ1801 suggested that I give the game a try since D3 was getting a bit stagnant. I ended up so engrossed in the game that I accidentally streamed for 24 hours!
It still took some time before I fully got into Path of Exile, but I remember very happily cyclone-ing away during Legion.
What one thing caught your attention in the beginning and what one thing kept you coming back?
Even though I was shocked the first time I opened the passive tree, it really reminded me of the sphere grid in FFX. It was both intimidating and familiar at the same time. I figured if I was able to parse that out for several characters, I’d be able to figure out the skill tree in Path of Exile.
I keep coming back for all the new leagues. I love that there is always something new to look forward to in a few months.
Are there any highlights from your time playing Path of Exile that stand out in your memory?
I honestly feel like there are so many moments that will live in my memory from the last year.
Sentinel league I double corrupted a Headhunter and a Mageblood back to back!
Recently having my scuffed Divinia cosplay featured on the forums for the start of the league was amazing!
Also, this league finally finding something great in Ritual, has finally forced me to interact with the mechanic again xD
Do you have a favourite build?
My first truly non-zDPS was MoM CoC Ice Nova Scion. I’ll never forget her. Now, I’ve gotten to the point where I’m just looking for builds that are fun and archetypes I haven’t had a chance to try.
Which expansion has been your favourite so far?
I have to be honest, Forbidden Sanctum has been so much fun!
What's one thing every Path of Exile player should hear?
There are tons of ways to enjoy and play POE.
Please play for fun more, and not what is the “best” according to POB.
When did you first start streaming? How did you get into it?
I started my account almost around the time Justin.TV went offline. I had found out about it from going to fighting game tournaments back in the day. I loved the idea of playing games and getting to build a community that also loved and focused on these very niche things.
I would sign on from time to time and stream Retro games late at night hoping I’d find my people. Eventually, I started to stream and play Diablo 3 and really found a groove with my late night NA audience. After my friend encouraged me to play Path of Exile the rest has been history.
What can people expect from your stream and schedule?
I would say you can expect some good tunes, lots of laughs, and definitely some kitties! It’s a nice place for new players and veterans to all hang out. I haven’t really gotten into build making yet, so I feel like the most value I give to my community is a positive space to learn and help each other out. I’m on almost every day at the league start! My hours are a bit varied so it’s always best to check in my discord or on my Twitter to know exactly when I go live.
In the off season, I still go live as often but will throw in some variety: Apex, Tekken, Street Fighter, Soulsborne/like, city builders, and sims.
What were you doing before you started streaming?
I ended up taking a break from streaming around 2018. I had moved to a new apartment that ended up having awful options for my ISP, effectively forcing me to to take a break from streaming. During that time period I was working in Corpa America while going to school full-time as well.
I didn’t get to start streaming again until COVID happened. Like many others, I was eventually let go as businesses were shut down across the nation. Streaming became a way for me to connect with people and kindled the hope to be an entertainer.
What hobbies or interests do you have outside of streaming?
Outside of streaming I really love to read (sci-fi and fantasy), crafting and working on cosplays, working on or sharing new music, and spending a lot of time with my two kitties, Apollo and Ozi.
How has your life changed from before you were streaming until now?
I had always had a difficult time finding the thing I was meant to do in life. I’ve tried a few different things, but streaming was always something that kept a pull on me. What could happen if I gave it a real committed effort?
Streaming has granted me more opportunities than I ever thought imaginable. I owe a lot to my community for believing in me and completely changing my life for the better. I really can’t explain how grateful I am that the space and things I create are appreciated.
Is there anything you'd like to see more of in the streaming community?
I really love the Path of Exile streaming community. It feels a bit unique in a way, I feel like there is a stream home/vibe for everyone.
Do you have any advice for people who are looking to make their own career out of streaming?
It can be long hours, and lots of planning, and hard work for very little returns in the beginning. Try not to compare yourself to other people and their journey, because everyone’s path is different. It will feel so rewarding when all the things you’ve been working on are finally getting a chance to shine. Be patient with yourself!
Are there any up and coming streamers that you'd like to shine a spotlight on?
Do you have any projects on the horizon you'd like to talk about?
I have some POE content plans for my Youtube soon! So definitely keep your peepers out for that.
Thank you so much GGG and Bex for inviting me to participate in this interview. It really means the world to me!!
