Last week we announced the winners of our recent Fan Art Competition. Due to a high amount of submitted artwork of great quality, we have decided to reward more entries with runners-up prizes.
We're very happy with how this competition turned out and want to thank our players once again for their amazing talents and creativity. Until next competition, Exiles!
There are just two weeks left until ExileCon and we can't wait to meet our players in person and to show everyone what we've been working on! In the meantime, we've prepared a small update with several fixes which will be deployed this week. Check out a preview of its patch notes below.
Please note that these patch notes may not be final and are still subject to change before the patch.
The Menagerie's World Panel pin is now hidden until you've actually unlocked it.
Fixed a bug where you would be incorrectly warned that the "Temple of Atzoatl is ready to be explored" when opening an Alva Atlas Mission if you still had active portals to the Temple.
Fixed a bug where Lava Lake Map could spawn slightly fewer monsters than intended.
Fixed a bug where the Minion Modifiers on the Convoking Wand basetype did not display their tiers when viewing their Advanced Mod Descriptions.
Fixed a bug where Wave of Conviction's travel distance could be shorter than intended if a previous use of the skill was stopped short by hitting a wall or some other object. This corrected itself when the player moved.
Fixed a bug where some Trap Throwing Speed and Mine Throwing Speed modifiers were not reflected in the character sheet. This was solely a visual bug.
Fixed a bug where the Cleave skill used by Kitava's Herald and Blight Herald was missing its visual effects.
Fixed a bug where the skeleton effect from Stygian Flame Dash did not always display correctly on Predictive networking mode.
Fixed a bug where the Vaal Seal hideout decorations were not granted to players that bought the Corrupted Hideout. We will be manually granting these to players that have already purchased the Corrupted Hideout if they did not receive them.
Fixed a bug where some buffs displayed a buff icon and description that wasn't meant to be seen. Oops!
Fixed a client crash that could occur when applying various weapon effects to a weapon with the Harlequin Weapon Skin applied to it.

Alongside ongoing development of expansions to Path of Exile, over the past year we have been working on our very first gamebook. We're happy to introduce The Lord's Labyrinth, a Path of Exile Gamebook which will be available in higher tiers of the upcoming new Core Supporter Packs later this year! The gamebook is written by Chris Kluwe, illustrations are created by Jerry Gu and Jason Hong.
The Lord's Labyrinth is a 'choose your own path' type of book. You are Weylin of Ezomyr, an Ezomyte slave. Captured as a child and raised as a gladiator, you will be offered the chance to undergo the trials of the mad Emperor Izaro and his Lord’s Labyrinth. As Weylin, it is up to you to decide how the story will play out. Every choice is yours and yours alone. Some will lead to death, some to glory, and all will traverse the darkest paths of Wraeclast’s accursed past.
The gamebook (as well as other physical goods) will be available for higher tiers of the new Core Supporter Packs which are expected to be released at the end of this year. We do plan to sell the gamebook (in potentially digital as well as physical versions) outside Supporter Packs, but it will likely happen only after the end of these new Supporter Packs (so do not expect it to be available for direct purchase in the near future, but it will be eventually). Please note that the gamebook is in English and we are not planning to translate it to other languages due to the number of words and the limited print run.
We are very excited to bring this gamebook to the Path of Exile community and hope you will like it as much as we do! In the meantime, check out the cover and some of the illustrations below:
It's time for a Stash Sale! We're discounting every type of Stash Tab, including the new released Delve Tab, Unique Collection Tab, Fragment Tab, Map Tab, Premium Stash Tab Bundles, Premium Quad Stash Tab, Essence Tab, Divination Tab, Currency Tab and Guild Stash Tabs (PC only)! Press M in game to view the full selection of discounted stash tabs.
The sale will run from the time of this post until Oct 28, 2019 8:00 PM (PDT).
In addition, we're bringing back the Fairgraves Mystery Box to the store for a limited time! If you want to dress your Exile in a pirate-themed outfit for the upcoming Halloween, you've got another chance to get the Mystic and Corsair cosmetic effects for only 30 points! The Fairgraves Mystery Box will be available all weekend until Oct 29, 2019 4:00 PM (GMT+13) (this is displayed in your local time). To check out the contents of this Mystery Box, watch the trailer below:
Six years ago today, we released version 1.0.0 of Path of Exile, which introduced the Scion character class and the second half of Act Three. This event marked the end of a multi-year beta period, and coincided with our official release on Steam. Since then, we have released 17 expansions, and will announce two more including our largest one ever at ExileCon in three weeks.
As the first year after Path of Exile's full release, 2014 was one of experimentation. The three expansions launched that year (Sacrifice of the Vaal, Forsaken Masters and the unnamed 1.3.0 PvP/Torment/Bloodlines update) each varied considerably in size and cadence, as we tried to determine the best pattern for future releases.
In 2015, after a beta period, we released Path of Exile 2.0.0: The Awakening. This large expansion ushered in a new era of Path of Exile with the introduction of Act Four, Jewels, Lockstep, Item Filters, and more. Later that year, we released the first second-generation league: Talisman.
2016 was a busy year alternating between expansions+leagues and standalone leagues. We released Ascendancy (with the Perandus league), Prophecy, Atlas of Worlds (with the Essence league) and Breach. A significant growth in userbase (which would then continue until the present day) started that year.
2017 was a year of true expansion in many senses. After running the popular Legacy league, we simultaneously released Path of Exile on Xbox One, launched in China, and released our gigantic 3.0.0 expansion, The Fall of Oriath, which contained six new acts of content. The year was then capped off with the War for the Atlas expansion.
In 2018, we had an overarching plan to replace the aging Master Mission system at the end of the year, so each of Path of Exile's four releases that year introduced a new NPC with a third-generation league attached. Bestiary's Einhar, Incursion's Alva and Delve's Niko joined Jun and Zana in the new Master roster in the Betrayal expansion.
2019 saw the release of Synthesis, Legion, Blight and soon our end-of-year 3.9.0 expansion, as development on 4.0.0 really ramped up behind the scenes. We also released Path of Exile on PlayStation 4 and in South Korea.
It has been an exhilarating six years for our team, and we feel the best is yet to come. What do 3.9.0 and 4.0.0 hold in store? Attend ExileCon or tune in to the announcement livestream on November 16th to find out!
Today we're showcasing some of the entries from our ongoing Fan Art Competition for the last time before announcing the winners next week. For all of those who'd like to participate - you have just under a week left to submit your artwork, inspired by Path of Exile content! The competition concludes on Tuesday the 29th of October at 9am (NZT).
