War Thunder - magazine2

  • Compensation for automatic vehicle repairs and automatic ammo refills after battles have been added for premium account owners. To receive compensation for repairs and ammo, you need to check the “Automatically repair all vehicles after the battle” and “Automatically purchase spent ammunition after the battle” boxes in the research window before the battle. Compensation of your expenses is calculated based on how much you’ve earned during the session excluding penalties for destroying allies (they are not compensated). Compensation of expenses is added to the list of rewards when the battle ends and is displayed in the battle statistics screen and in personal messages that contain battle results.
  • Payments for repairs of vehicles destroyed by your allies have been disabled. In modes where there are no repairs but pair respawns (such as Air SB), if an ally destroys your vehicle, your next respawn in this session in the same vehicle will be free.
  • A rewards table has been added to the personal message window with better displayed battle results. The detailed log is only available in the main game modes: Ground arcade, realistic, simulator battles; Air arcade, realistic, simulator battles; Naval arcade, realistic battles; Helicopter battles.
  • The ability to copy detailed battle results to the clipboard to share them online or analyse them has been added.
  • When buying premium or pack vehicles, players will now receive a specific number of backups that depend on the vehicle rank and is displayed before purchase.
  • Now players will receive mission points for helping repair or extinguish fires for their allies. In Ground battles, for each repair assist a player will receive 40 mission points up to 10 times per session, and 150 points for each fire put out (no limits). In Naval battles a player will receive 10 points per each repair, up to 10 times per session.
  • When a gunner gets knocked out, there is now a delay before the tank commander gains control over the duplicate fire control system. The commander taking over the controls is marked by a circular indicator around a gunner replacement indicator. If a “duplicate” mode is used in the commander’s sights when the gunner is knocked out, the commander takes over the fire control system with no delay.
The current provided changelog reflects the major changes within the game as part of this Update. Some updates, additions and fixes may not be listed in the provided notes. War Thunder is constantly improving and specific fixes may be implemented without the client being updated.
War Thunder - Blitzkrieg Wulf

We continue to implement improvements listed in our War Thunder Changes Roadmap. This time, a multitude of various changes awaits you: improvement to premium accounts, free repairs when destroyed by friendly fire, a more detailed rewards log after the battle, free backups for premium vehicles, mission points for helping teammates and improved mechanics of duplicate fire control mode. Let’s break them down!

Improving Premium Accounts
Now all owners of a premium account will receive an “insurance”: when losing SL as a result of the battle, you will be compensated for automatic vehicle repairs and automatic ammo refill after the battle. To receive compensation for repairs and ammo, you need to check the “Automatically repair all vehicles after the battle” and “Automatically purchase spent ammunition after the battle” boxes before the battle. Compensation of your expenses is calculated based on how much you’ve earned during the session excluding penalties for destroying allies (they are not compensated).

For example, if you have earned 10,000 SL during a battle, but also received 3,000 SL in penalties for killing allies, your final earnings amount to 7,000 SL. Assuming you’ve spent 12,000 SL for repairs and ammunition in this session, the compensation will be 2,000 SL instead of 5,000, and in total you will lose 3,000 SL as a result — exactly the same amount as the penalty for killing allies. With no friendly kills you will always break even or earn more SL than you’ve spent.

Compensation of expenses is added to the list of rewards when the battle ends and is displayed on the battle statistics screen and in personal messages that contain battle results.

Free Repairs when you get Destroyed by an Ally
This one’s simple: if your vehicle was destroyed by an ally, you won’t have to pay for its repairs after the battle. And in modes where there are no repairs but pair respawns (such as Air SB), if an ally destroys your vehicle, your next respawn in this session on the same vehicle will be free.

Detailed Rewards Log after a Battle
A rewards table has been added to the personal message window with better battle results. It is similar to the statistics screen displayed after battle, but each line has a pop-up tooltip that lists each separate reward along with a timestamp when this action was undertaken, and also several additional clarifying parameters that will allow you to compare the rewards for various actions and vehicles.

The detailed log is only available in the main game modes: Ground arcade, realistic, simulator battles; Air arcade, realistic, simulator battles; Naval arcade, realistic battles; Helicopter battles.

The ability to copy detailed battle results to the clipboard to share them online or analyze them has also been added.

The detailed log displays all the main actions that a player receives rewards for, except for "Hits": we may add that in the future after testing and additional polish. After testing, we may also add additional rewards in the session that aren’t related to the immediate actions of a player, such as Orders. All rewards that didn’t get their own lines in the list, are collected under “Other rewards”.

Free Backups for Purchases of Premium Vehicles
When buying premium or pack vehicles, you will now receive a specific number of backups that depends on the vehicle rank and is displayed before purchase.

Mission Points for Helping Teammates
Now players will receive mission points for helping repair or extinguish fires for their allies. The number of points depends on the game mode. In Ground battles for each repair assist the player will receive 40 mission points up to 10 times per session (to counter possible foul play; fair players don’t usually repair allies over 10 times in a single session), and 150 points for each fire put out (no limits). In Naval battles helping out with repairs doesn’t require any sacrifices or even effort from the helper and occurs automatically when remaining near an ally, so less points will be awarded than in Ground battles — 10 per each repair, up to 10 times per session.

Improving the Duplicate Fire Control Mode
When a gunner gets knocked out, there is now a delay before the tank commander gains control over the duplicate fire control system. The commander taking over the controls is marked by a circular indicator around a gunner replacement indicator. If a “duplicate” mode is used in the commander’s sights when the gunner is knocked out, the commander overtakes the fire control system with no delay.

That’s all for today, but we are continuing our work on improving War Thunder. Check out our progress in this infographic:

The iconic Japanese dive bomber of the WWII era with a new engine and Premium bonuses!

B7A2 (Homare 23), naval aircraft/torpedo bomber, Japan, rank III. Premium.

    Features:
    • More powerful engine
    • Good maneuverability
    • 800 kg bomb

The main aircraft prize in the new season of the War Thunder Battle Pass “Armour Breaking Ambusher” will be the Japanese B7A2 Ryusei piston-engined, a carrier-based torpedo bomber with a new Homare 23 engine.

The B7A2 has a reputation of fast and agile aircraft for its class, making it very comfortable to carry out dive or level bombing. Unlike most bombers, the B7A2 even allows its pilot to engage in dogfights with enemy heavy fighters, and a pair of forward-firing 20mm cannons give good chances in confrontation with other aircraft.

The experimental B7A2 (Homare 23) received a slight increase in flight performance thanks to the new engine, especially with the maximum bomb load.

By the way, about the payload. Like the researchable modification, the B7A2 (Homare 23) is capable of carrying two 250kg bombs along with smaller bombs on the wings, or one 800 kg bomb, which is especially handy in mixed battles. The B7A2 (Homare 23) is a torpedo bomber and can be used in naval battles carrying a single Type 91 model 3 torpedo.

Being a Premium aircraft, the B7A2 (Homare 23) will have access to all weapon presets upon receiving and will provide a good boost to research of the Japanese aviation of early and medium ranks.

The new season of the War Thunder Battle Pass “Armour Breaking Ambusher” is coming soon - stay tuned for more details!

Despite the Wehrmacht forces being more numerous, Currie’s tactical decisions and leadership skills allowed the Canadians to destroy over 500 and capture over 2000 enemy soldiers. He was awarded the Victoria Cross, becoming the only member of the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps to receive it.

    Other terms
    • Tasks are available from 11:00 GMT until 11:30 GMT on the final day of each task.
    • Tasks can be completed in random battles, except for “Assault” mode.

    August 1st — August 4th
    Battle of the Bridges
At the beginning of the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in 1990, neither side was ready for a serious confrontation: The Kuwaiti army wasn't even mobilised, and Iraqis expected no resistance and loaded their tanks with HE shells instead of SABOT. In the morning of August 2nd a small group of Kuwaiti forces met the enemy at the bridges across a highway near Al Jahra and began shelling with little to no response. In a few hours, elite Iraqi forces arrived, but even they drove past the enemy at first, allowing Kuwaitis to keep shelling and retreat when their ammo reserves were almost depleted.

    August 4th — August 8th
    Spas-Demenskaya operation
After falling back from the Rzhev-Vyazma salient in 1943 the Wehrmacht forces entrenched in Western Russia, and on August 7th, the Red Army began the Smolensk offensive operation to free the occupied territories. Fierce battles that lasted for two weeks near Spas-Demensk ended with a USSR victory.

    August 9th — August 12th
    Tartu offensive
After the successful Narva operation in 1944 the USSR army kept advancing through Estonia. The next major city that it retook from the Wehrmacht was Tartu in the east of the country. The land route to it was blocked by lake Peipus, so the Soviets launched an amphibious assault over the lake that allowed them to strike the enemy from the rear.

    August 12th — August 16th
    Falaise pocket
In mid August of 1944 the Allies encircled a large group of German forces in a pocket under Falaise in Normandy. This was a direct result of Adolf Hitler personally commanding his army, insisting on counterattacks and forbidding them to retreat. As the pocket closed, over 10 000 German soldiers were killed, over 50 000 were captured, and the Battle for Normandy ended in a decisive Allied victory.

    August 17th — August 20th
    The Hardest day
In August of 1940 the Luftwaffe aimed to destroy RAF Fighter Command to establish air superiority over Britain. The attack on airfields on August 13th, the Adlertag, failed, but five days later another attempt was made. August 18th was later named The Hardest Day by the British, as one of the largest air battles ever took place on that day. The British pilots took down twice as many aircraft as the Luftwaffe, but lost many fighters on the ground due to bombings, making overall vehicle losses almost equal.

    August 20th — August 23rd
    Kozelsk offensive
On August 22nd, 1942 the Red Army attempted to encircle the German forces under Kozelsk. The counteroffensive failed: the Soviets lost 500 tanks and four times as many soldiers as the defending Germans, having only pushed the front line back 6-8 km.

    August 24th — August 27th
    Liberation of Paris
After their triumph in Normandy the Allies moved to Paris. Already on August 19th the French Resistance began the fight for the city against German and Vichy forces. After the US and Free France forces entered Paris on the evening of August 24th, the battle was over in mere hours. Military Governor Dietrich von Choltitz refused to destroy the city as Hitler ordered and surrendered to the Allies.

    August 28th— August 31st
    Yelninskaya operation
During the invasion of the German forces into the USSR as a part of Operation Barbarossa, the Wehrmacht occupied a large salient near Yelnya in Western Russia that could be used as a foothold for an attack on Moscow. The Soviet command decided to eliminate the salient, and on August 30th, 1941 began a successful counteroffensive. Yelnya was retaken, but only for a month, as the Wehrmacht soon resumed its eastward push.

The German anti-tank IFV comes to the game as one of the main prizes in the upcoming Battle Pass season “Armour Breaking Ambusher”!

SPz 12-3, light tank, Germany, rank IV. Premium.

    Features:
    • Recoilless anti-tank rifle
    • 20mm autocannon
    • Light armour

The SPz 12-3, one of the main prizes of the new season of the War Thunder Battle Pass “Armour Breaking Ambusher'', is built on a chassis already familiar to weathered commanders of German vehicles by the Raketenautomat tank destroyer. The new vehicle will offer players more flexible gameplay. Thanks to the fast-firing 20mm cannon, the SPz 12-3 will find use in reconnaissance raids on the flanks and rear of the enemy lines, reaping light vehicles. At the same time, a more powerful 106 mm cannon with HEAT rounds will cope with the conventional armour on any tank on the battlefield, since ERA, spaced or composite armour are yet very rare here.

As a ranger or armour breaking ambusher, the SPz 12-3 needs good mobility in order to quickly change positions and be the first to take advantage of cover. The weight of the machine is 16 tons, which creates low ground pressure. However, due to its relatively weak engine, the SPz 12-3 is not the best runner around, hitting a pretty decent 55 kph and handles off-road and low hills with ease.

Like all vehicles of this type, the SPz 12-3 is lightly armoured and can be penetrated at some parts of the hull and turret even with heavy machine guns.

The Armour Breaking Ambusher SPz 12-3 will be waiting for you in the new season of the War Thunder Battle Pass. Very soon we will tell you about all the prizes and the conditions for receiving them - stay tuned!

After World War II Japan was left without its own jet fighters and by the mid 60s it began work on a supersonic training jet. A prototype developed by the Mitsubishi corporation performed its maiden flight on July 20th, 1971, and on November 19th of the same year it became the first aircraft developed in Japan to break the speed of sound.

From July 20th (12:00 GMT) until July 24th (12:00 GMT)
The T-2 Early jet fighter from the Japanese research tree will be available for purchase for Golden Eagles. T-2 Early is fast and boasts a high climb rate, but its JM61A1 rotary cannon is the real star: with 20 mm calibre it shoots 6000 rounds per minute! Even though the aircraft lacks a ballistic calculator, it can carry high speed FFAR rockets in its payload to decimate ground vehicles.

    ...
