Welcome to the third War Thunder Steam Community Spotlight!

Following on from the First War Thunder Community Spotlight, and Second War Thunder Community Spotlight, the War Thunder Steam Community Management team has continued looking at the community hub for War Thunder, and have yet again spotted some outstanding screenshots and artwork that our players have been creating! So once again, we’ve picked our favourites and thought that we'd share them with the rest of the Steam community. Take a look below.

Let's begin!

To start off, an amazing drawing of a Panther tank, hand drawn with pencil on paper. The detail in this drawing is immaculate. Well done!

"Panzerkampfwagen V "Panther" by Honey

Pixel art! These amazing animated pixel art of a Lancaster and Churchill rolling into Berlin were created by talented drawer "M777 155mm Towed Howitzer". We absolutely love the creativity, nice work.

"Lancaster" by M777 155mm Towed Howitzer

"ChurchHill VII" by M777 155mm Towed Howitzer

"Years later" featuring a BT-5 tank and modern T series tank. We like this screenshot, it captures the old, grey grainy cameras of the 40's, and the modern colour cameras of the next century. Well done.

"years later." by Bailey

The drawing name DAKADKAKDKKADKA sums up this drawing perfectly - as the T-72M2 Moderna's 30mm auto cannon certainty packs and punch and makes this sound! We love this artwork, nice work!

"DAKADKAKDKKADKA" by random_mesincuci

An amazing model of the King Tiger H, which perfectly captures the details of this beast. The diorama base certaintainly makes it look more fearsome. Well done! (and yes, we also spotted the flying Ho 229 and Haunebu II in the background, they look awesome!)

"Königstiger" drawing" by Pripyatnik

And, a regular Tiger H1 tank in the large 1:35 scale - compared to the background! XxCombatPug07xX_TTV says that they have not finished it yet, but it still looks great. We can't wait to see the end result!

"1:35 Tiger 1 (UNPAINTED WIP)" by XxCombatPug07xX_TTV

TheRussianBadger's "Bajur" decor on the cupula - looking cute. A nice place for him to chill!

by mrNotaaa

A very nice model of the Finnish BT-42, capturing the size of that turret. We also spotted the Girls und Panzer reference!

"BT-42 model" by Thermite main

The ABSOLUTE (tiny)UNIT of the TKS here. We love this model in its natural habitat.

"TKS Tankietka 20mm" by Pan Więcek

An M2A2 Bradley paper model that looks like it could easily be a plastic model kit. This looks so cool, the details are fantastic. Real nice work!

"M2A2 Bradley. paper model" by CaptainTimo

Here we can observe an F-16A in its natural habitat. Super speedy, it will pass just about anything but a fuel station!

"F-16A" by Strikerboi101

Recognise this? Could it be the next Bucolic Green Hills? For those who don't know, this is an awesome painting of part of the Campania (previously Italy) map. Nice work!

by 碧蓝档案高手

A beautiful piece of art for the beloved FV4005. For all the Bri'ish HESH enjoyers!

"FV-4005" by Lewd-Tenant Isan

Another very good artistic shot by FULZY, capturing the Leopard 2A4 - very awesome. Nice work dude!

"Leopard 2A4 25th Infantry Brigade "György Klapka"" FULZY

That's all for now!

The wonderful work created by our community that we have shared has been posted to the War Thunder Community Hub - make sure you check it out and even share your own creations. We look forward to seeing you next time!

The Warbond shop for the “Her Majesty’s Hussar” Battle Pass season will be open from 26th of April until 26th of July.

Noble hussars, it’s time to learn what you can spend your Warbonds on that you will earn in the Battle Pass! As usual, we have decals, decorations, camouflages, a new stylish pinup, and six premium vehicles, three of which are available in the shop for the first time!

Pay special attention to the M4A4 (1st PTG), the famous American Rank II tank flying the Chinese flag — it’s a versatile vehicle that can fight off almost any enemy tank.

The Warbond shop is available to players that have vehicles of rank III and up and is part of the Battle Pass. You can purchase items with the special ‘Warbond’ currency that can be obtained by unlocking Battle Pass levels.

Open “Shop” → “Warbond shop” to see an assortment where some of the more interesting items can be seen.

Premium vehicles in the new season:

KM-5 — first time in the shop

A rank I German motor torpedo boat that was used in the Eastern front in World War II as a minelayer on lakes and rivers. Its fragility and lack of powerful armament are compensated by its high speed and low profile.

Hudson Mk V

A British Rank II bomber with an impressive suspended armament that’s capable of destroying an entire base and damaging another one. Featuring a double 7.7 mm Browning machine gun in its dorsal turret that can dismantle almost any enemy that approaches this aircraft!

SU-57

An American self-propelled tank destroyer T48 serving in the Soviet army. Thanks to its minimal armor, it’s quite agile and can easily move to a different place after each attack, while its 57 mm M1 cannon can easily penetrate armor of enemies on Ranks I-II.

Thunderbolt (PT-556)

This rank III American motor torpedo boat has amazing speed: up to 106 km/h in Arcade battles! Onboard are four torpedoes, five 20 mm autocannons protecting its aft and front, two 12.7 mm machine guns and a frontal 37 mm gun that can be loaded with AP shells.

VL Pyörremyrsky — first time in the shop

You’ll find this Finnish “Hurricane” in Rank III of the Swedish aviation tree. This fighter, which was created to replace the Bf 109, has very good climb rate and maneuverability, and also boasts a powerful front 20 mm cannon and a couple of 12.7 mm machine guns. To deal with ground targets, it can carry four 50 kg or 100 kg bombs.

M4A4 (1st PTG) — first time in the shop

An American medium tank that arrived in China via Lend-Lease. Decent speed allows it to rush to tactically advantageous positions, while its 75 mm cannon with a vertical stabilizer rotates quite quickly. It can also frontally penetrate and even one-shot many opponents.

Other Items:
  • "Taurus Zodiac" pinup
  • decals
  • player icon
  • decorations

"Taurus Zodiac" pinup

Decals are represented in the trophy, alongside decals from the 2021 Warbonds shop, as well as a new “Taurus Zodiac” pinup which continues the series of themed decals. The camouflage decoration trophy will provide you with floral decorations that will help you make your vehicle less noticeable. The player icons in the corresponding trophy this time features USSR tankers. Trophies with random camouflages, as before, become available as new store levels are opened.

A large number of usable items are also available in the store: boosters, universal backups, wagers and orders, test drives of premium vehicles — even talismans on the highest levels of the shop.

Check out the full assortment of available Warbond items for the current Battle Pass season and the terms for purchasing them in the game by opening the Battle Pass window or “Shop -> Warbond Shop”!

On May 14th 1948, Israel declared its independence — and then managed to defend it thanks to its armed forces. This holiday is celebrated on 5 Iyar in the Hebrew calendar, which in 2023 corresponds to April 25-26, from sunset till sunset. On this day, people decorate their houses and cars with Israeli flags and have picnics, the government gives out awards for contributions to Israeli culture, and some military bases open up to visitors.

From April 25th (12:00 GMT) until April 28th (7:00 GMT)

Play 3 battles using Israeli vehicles (rank III or higher, with an activity of not less than 70%) to receive the “Golden menorah” decal.

By the end of April of 1945, Italy-based forces of the Wehrmacht and Republic of Salo had no supplies or manpower to oppose the Allies, and so on the 29th they capitulated at Caserta. However, it was the 25th of April that became Liberation Day — on this date the National Liberation Committee of Upper Italy called for all guerrillas to rise against the occupying forces and force their garrisons to surrender.

25th of April became a holiday already a year later, in 1946, and ever since, it’s celebrated by marches, parades, and placing laurels upon the grave of the Unknown Soldier.

From April 25th (10:00 GMT) until April 28th (10:00 GMT)

Play 3 battles using Italian vehicles (rank III or higher, with an activity of not less than 70%) to receive the “W L'Italia libera” decal.

For hundreds of years, hussars were part of the cavalry, but technical progress in the 20th century forced them to ditch horses for tanks — which means they have a place in War Thunder! The eleventh Battle Pass season that will launch very soon is called "Her Majesty's Hussar" for a reason: its main prize, the Centurion (in its later modification), was used by hussar squadrons in the Korean War when Queen Elizabeth II was crowned.

To receive Battle Pass rewards, you need to regularly log into the game and complete tasks and challenges. Each level of Battle Pass will earn you a prize, be it a player icon, a loading screen, a title, decals, decorations, or new premium vehicles!

May 1st — May 4th
Battle of the Coral Sea
From May 4th through 8th of 1942, Japan and the Allies fought in the Coral Sea, although indirectly: vessels of both sides never fired at or even saw each other, relying instead on aircraft. Strategic victory went to the Allies: they managed to halt Japan's advance and hurt its air carrier fleet that led to a decisive victory at Midway

May 4th — May 7th
Battle of Madagascar
To prevent a Japanese naval base from possibly being built on Madagascar that at the time belonged to Vichy France, Britain decided to conquer the island. On May 5th, 1942 Commonwealth troops landed on the northern point of Madagascar and half a year later established full control over it. It was the first large-scale operation of World War II where ground, naval, and air forces of the Allies participated in tandem.

May 7th — May 10th
The end of World War II in Europe
This was the biggest ordeal that the Allies had faced, and it’s finally over. Six long years of war, dozens of strategic operations on thousands of miles of the frontlines, and countless acts of heroism of regular soldiers — and at last, victory! Nazi Germany capitulated, the war ended, and heroes can finally go home to their families.

May 10th — May 13th
Operation Diadem
The fourth and final battle at Monte Cassino began on May 11th, 1944. After three failed offensives the Allies spent two months preparing for an attack that would be a surprise for the Wehrmacht — and succeeded. The Gustav Line in Central Italy was breached, and the German forces retreated to the Hitler Line.

May 13th — May 17th
The end of the Tunisian campaign
During the final months of the North African campaign the Axis powers kept retreating, suffering from lack of fuel and reinforcements. In Tunisia they fell back to well fortified defensive positions, but their defeat was only a matter of time. That time came on May 13th, 1943, when over 200 thousand troops from Germany and Italy surrendered to the Allies.
