The QN506 is a modern Chinese concept for a fighting vehicle to support tanks. The branded feature of the vehicle is the unmanned turret with automatic cannon and multipurpose missiles of different calibers.
QN506, light tank, China, rank VI. Event vehicle.
Features:
Unmanned turret
Two types of missiles, including “fire and forget”
High profile
The QN506 tank support fighting vehicle will be the main tank prize of the upcoming War Thunder crafting event. The vehicle will appear at rank VI in the Chinese armored vehicles tech tree as an event vehicle. The long-awaited high rank ATGM carrier for China - what will it be like?
The experimental QN506 is a true fair of the modern military technologies. The entire crew is located in the hull compartment, which allows the vehicle to operate safely from low shelters. The unmanned combat module includes a 30-mm autocannon with a coaxial machine gun and an ammunition load of 200 rounds, including armor-piercing ones. The cannon is capable of penetrating most tanks from the side, and light vehicles and helicopters in any projection. Much more interesting, however, is the QN506 missiles. Missile launchers of various calibers are installed in the turret’s sides. The main anti-tank caliber of the vehicle is QN502 “fire and forget” missiles. They are located in four launchers. Above the QN502 launchers there are minor launchers of the QN201 multipurpose missiles. These small missiles are guided via sight and feature much less penetration values, however you will be able to take 20 missiles into battle!
In order to save the budget of the project, the engineers kept the original ZTZ59 engine for the QN506. As a result, the vehicle has quite good dynamics, but sometimes the maximum speed of 50 km/h may not be enough. Another factor that future commanders should pay attention to is the high profile of the vehicle due to the high position of the optics.
The QN506 will be a great addition to China's top setup, making it more flexible and adaptable to different combat situations and remaining respawn points. Very soon we will present you a complete list of rules for the upcoming crafting event in War Thunder - stay tuned!
A new two-seater Corsair II comes to War Thunder as the main prize in the upcoming Repair Factory event.
A-7K Corsair II, strike aircraft, USA, rank VII
Features:
Max payload 12,000 lb
Variety of weapons available
Thermal imaging targeting pod
Subsonic
In War Thunder, the two-seat A-7K Corsair II strike aircraft will become the main aviation prize of the Repair Factory event and will be added to the game as an US event aircraft at rank VII.
The new Corsair II is very similar in terms of performance characteristics and the range of weapons used to the A-7D version, on the basis of which the two-seat version was created, but differs from by the LANA thermal imaging pod. In our game, the Corsair II strike aircraft are among the best of their kind, and rightly so. The new event aircraft will only confirm the glory of her family!
Despite its comparatively low top speed, which makes it highly dependent on allied fighter cover, the A-7K is capable of delivering truly devastating strikes against ground targets in any game mode. Pilots will have the opportunity to equip the vehicle as a heavy “bomb truck” that carries over 6 tons of bombs in various calibers to enemy bases. For mixed battles, the best choice would be rockets, as well as guided munitions - GBU-8 guided bombs (up to four at once) and AGM-65B Maverick missiles (up to six missiles at once). By the way, a thermal imager will also come in handy here. The pilot will be able to combine all these weapons, as well as incendiary bombs, cannon pods and, which is especially nice, AIM-9J and AIM-9L Sidewinder air-to-air missiles, in the secondary weaponry editor before each mission.
Take part in the big spring Repair Factory event to get the A-7K Corsair II strike aircraft and many other prizes! Full list of terms comes tomorrow!
The Soviet light cruiser Shcherbakov offers a fine balance between high fire-rate of her main guns, good mobility and excellent anti-air defense.
Shcherbakov light cruiser, USSR rank V. Event vehicle.
Features:
Main caliber of 4x3 152mm
Improved AA battery
Good speed
High survivability
The Shcherbakov light cruiser will be the main naval prize of the spring crafting event in War Thunder. Like her predecessor, the Sverdlov light cruiser, the new ship features fast-firing main battery guns, good mobility, and her already powerful anti-aircraft battery is now reinforced with quadruple 45mm autocannon mounts!
Light cruisers of Projects 68-bis and 68-A are always a good pick for high-ranking naval battles in War Thunder. Their element is in constant motion, fire support of the high-speed ships and boats of the first line of attack and actively "pecking" the weak spots of opponents with their fast-firing 152mm main guns. The closest relative of the new Shcherbakov cruiser, the light cruiser Sverdlov, boasts fully armored main and auxiliary turrets, a large crew, and an excellent air defense battery of 37 mm automatic cannons.
The Shcherbakov inherits all the branded features of her class, but offers improved air defense.Part of the 37mm guns on the bow and stern superstructures has been replaced with quadruple 45mm ZIF-68 autocannon mounts, which are capable of effectively shooting down medium altitude targets.
The Shcherbakov light cruiser has no striking shortcomings, however the caliber of the main guns shapes the ship’s gameplay. The penetrating power of 152mm guns is usually not enough to pierce the most protected opponents. That is why it is necessary to have a good supply of armor-piercing shells and, when engaging the heavies, captains are recommended to try to hit critical areas, such as main gun magazines, with multiple shots. High rate of fire and the excellent turret traverse speed make it easy to adjust hits and quickly shift fire between targets. The most versatile shell choice for most conventional targets will be semi-AP rounds for the main caliber, and bottom-fuzed HE for the auxiliary guns. The high density of fire and good load of explosives in these shells make it possible to quickly disable enemy guns, destroy modules and cause fires in different compartments of enemy ships.
The Shcherbakov light cruiser will be the main naval prize of the upcoming spring crafting event in War Thunder - follow the news to know more!
The AMD 35 is a French armored car developed by Panhard in the interwar period featuring an advanced design for its time. Soon, an experimental modification of the already familiar AMD 35 will make its way to War Thunder as one of the main prizes of the upcoming spring crafting event!
Briefly: A hastily developed upgunned modification of the AMD 35 armored car, fitted with a new turret and a larger gun.
AMD 35 SA35, light tank, France, Rank I, premium vehicle.
Features:
Superb mobility
High profile
Light armor
The AMD 35 SA35 will be a new light vehicle coming to War Thunder as one of the main prizes of the upcoming spring crafting event. This nimble armored car will become available to participants of the event as a new rank I premium vehicle of the French ground forces tree. Keen to find out more about it? Then join us as we dive deeper into the details!
Being already familiar in its standard modification to tankers from the starting ranks of the French ground forces tree, the AMD 35 is highly regarded for its excellent mobility and compact size. However, being only equipped with a semi-automatic 25 mm cannon does mean that commanders of this vehicle often encountered issues dealing with more heavily armored opponents or fighting enemies at longer engagement distances. This experimental variant of the AMD 35 means to address these issues by offering tankers a much higher caliber weapon in the form of the also familiar 47 mm SA35 cannon. Trading rate of fire for a more powerful caliber results in the AMD 35 now being capable of posing a more serious threat to an expanded circle of potential enemies.
While the chassis of the vehicle remains the same, the turret of this AMD 35 is vastly different. For starters, its size has clearly increased compared to the familiar standard modification of the vehicle in order to facilitate the larger gun. The larger turret also increases the vehicle’s silhouette, making it easier for hostile forces to detect the vehicle.
The larger turret, however, doesn’t affect much on the vehicle’s weight. The vehicle retains its excellent top speed of up to 72 km/h, meaning it’s still more than capable of taking the enemy by surprise once it unexpectedly makes its appearance at a flank.
This exotic new variant of the AMD 35 armored car will soon appear in War Thunder ground battles and tankers will have the chance to add it to their collection by participating in the upcoming spring crafting event. Stay tuned to the news to find out what other exciting prizes the event has in store for its participants. Until then, happy hunting tankers!

It is time to introduce to the game the main force of any military conflict - the infantry troops! We are pleased to announce our vision on the infantry progression tree and invite you to take part in the open testing of the most advanced soldiers!
War Thunder Mobile Infantry - open beta testing of the troops of the future!
Commanders! We’re happy to share our plans on infantry units in War Thunder. Today we’re talking about how we see troops in the game and invite you into the first open testing session. Unlike the combat vehicles testing, we decided to start with the top-tier units of the infantry line-up, featuring the most advanced soldier equipment, which is a prospective of modern warfare trends.
Exo-suits
According to many military experts, combat exoskeletons will become the most likely development of infantry equipment in future. Urbanized terrain, as the main battle arena of modern warfare, as well as the need for a soldier to use heavy weapons and high classes of armor protection, require from a modern soldier capabilities that go beyond abilities of the unassisted human body. A powered exoskeleton will allow the soldier to operate a wide arsenal of small arms and heavy weapons, use anti-tank and anti-aircraft weapons as a firearm, and stay able to move fast and high. The wearable ammunition load and the weight of equipment become incomparably large towards an ordinary infantryman, while the dimensions of the soldier remain small, and the speed of movement significantly increases.
The first prototypes of combat exoskeletons are already being tested in modern wars and the prospects for their development are very optimistic. We invite you to an open testing session of combat exo-suits, equipped for various combat missions: assault, sniper, ATGM and MANPADS operators.
We will tell you about the start of testing soon. Stay tuned!
Combat classes
The standard combat exoskeleton provides an unified platform to equip different combat classes. It comes geared with multiple systems to increase combat capabilities of a soldier, as well as survivability: combat helmet with armored visor, rocket jump-packs to assist taking high positions on buildings, smoke grenade launchers, etc.
Assault
Assault troops engage in close quarter firefights and often face enemy armored vehicles. The assault infantry is equipped with a high-caliber machine gun and twin tube ATGM launcher to defeat tanks and combat vehicles of the enemy.
Sniper
Snipers provide reconnaissance data to their squad and engage long-range contacts. Their main weapon is a 30mm semi-automatic anti-material sniper rifle. A pair of single shot disposable rocket launchers allow the sniper to hit armored targets if needed.
ATGM operator
The main task of anti-armor personnel is to destroy enemy armored vehicles. A portable twin-tube missile system with additional ammunition allows ATGM operators to destroy any MBTs and other armored vehicles on the battlefield. As small arms at medium and close range, their exoskeleton is equipped with an 8.6 mm light machine gun with a multiple charged 43 mm grenade launcher.
MANPADS operator
The MANPADS operator is responsible for destroying enemy aircraft and providing reconnaissance data from above. The exoskeleton in this class is equipped with a light UAV, as well as an advanced aiming station, capable of sectoral search for air targets and an automatic target tracking system. The operator is equipped with an up-to-date man-portable anti-aircraft missile system with a multifunctional high-explosive armor-piercing fragmentation warhead and a thermal imaging seeker that makes it possible to track heat-contrasting ground targets. To destroy helicopters, lightly armored ground vehicles and enemy troops, the MANPADS operator is equipped with a heavy machine gun pod.
