In this digest we would like to tell you about our continuing work on improvements and fixes in the game. You can find information about all updates that have been released in War Thunder on the website special section.
Bury no bombs
Buried bombs deal no damage? Such a surprising thing might be observed after the introduction of the entrenching mechanics. A locked and cocked bomb fell right in front of you and might find itself dug into the ground with a dozer blade on your tank, with no explosion after it. This odd feature is fixed, however you can still cover your tank from fragments if the entrenchment is deep enough
Dig wisely and safely with the all new terrain shaping mechanics that appeared recently!
Unlinking of tracks from AI tanks
Players in “Assault” mode were the first to note a strange thing with the tracks on AI tanks. When one of the caterpillars was broken, the AI vehicle continuously tried to move forth, pivoting at one point, while the tracks remained motionless.
Such a persistence could only be envied, but not here. The bug is fixed for good.
Sinking fire
Probably, some of the crewmen had a really bad day and literally burned out? Or how to explain that a sinking tank might catch fire after it drowned? Nobody knows. Neither could we, so we just prevented that mysterious case from happening in future. Fixed.
More improvements
For this digest we have prepared a large set of useful fixes and game improvements. Be sure to read the full list which we have prepared in the separate changelog - there are many interesting things.
Once again, many thanks for all your bug reports that you submitted in our bug report section on the War Thunder forums.

Server Update 10.11.2021
Changes to the scoring with statistics points
In the “Ground Breaking” update we seriously reworked many mechanics for the mission scoring, as well as rebalancing values and multipliers for actions in different vehicles in different game modes. Now, based on the statistics gathered,we’re ready to change certain values and multipliers to bring the accrual of mission score to the target indicators that will help bring activity to the desired level (already present for most of the vehicle types before the “Ground Breaking” update released).
Ground vehicles, in all ground vehicle gaming modes:
Basic mission score for destruction of an enemy ground vehicle (with zero difference in BR) has been increased: 150 → 180
The mission score added in the score pool for capturing points for each additional capturer has been increased: 100 → 200 (i.e. the full capture of the enemy point by two players previously granted by (300 + 100) / 2 = 200 points for each, now increased to (300 + 200) / 2 = 250 points for each).
The mission score awarded for successful active scouting: 3 → 5
The mission score awarded to a scout vehicle for critical hit of a scouted enemy vehicle has been increased: 15 → 20
The mission score awarded to a scout vehicle for the destruction of a scouted enemy vehicle has been increased: 45 → 60
The mission score awarded to a scout vehicle for the destruction of an enemy vehicle after another scout’s intelligence has been increased: 15 → 20
Ships and boats, in all naval gaming modes:
The mission score awarded for every point of damage inflicted to the enemy has been increased: 0.15 → 0.18 (i.e., destruction of a boat is now awarded with 216 points instead of 180, and the destruction of a destroyer — 396 instead of 330)
The mission score awarded for a captured point has been increased: 175 → 200
The mission score added to the score pool for capturing points for each additional capturer has been increased: 58 → 67 (i.e. the full capture of the enemy point by two players previously granted by (175+58)/2 points to each, now increased to (200+67)/2 points)
The minimum mission score awarded for a captured point has been increased: 58 → 67
The mission score awarded for destruction of an enemy has been reduced: 40 → 30
The mission score awarded for assist has been reducedу: 15 → 10

Temporarily in game for Golden Eagles: P40 "G.C. Leoncello"
The premium P40 "G.C. Leoncello" will be available until the end of the event for Golden Eagles right in the game!
P40 "G.C. Leoncello" — The P40's best description in its place on the War Thunder battlefield is "average". Average armour, an average gun, and average mobility. For this reason, it can perform most roles of a typical medium tank in a flanking or support role, but should not be relied on to be a shield or a speedster. The P40 "Leoncello" was one of the first Italian ground vehicles implemented and was created by Nicola "Kolin0" Faggiani and Riccardo "BlueBeta" Lo Verso as part of the revenue share program.
In this digest we would like to tell you about our continuing work on improvements and fixes in the game. You can find information about all updates that have been released in War Thunder on the website special section.
Terramorphing
A large complex new feature transformed War Thunder battles, that didn't mean that we lost our attention on it even after the release.
We have already added many fixes to it - removed objects that remained in the air, fixed bugs relating to the entrenchment of some vehicles as well as artifacts that appeared on certain platforms (including MacOS). We also worked on performance, improving it noticeably as a result and fixed some related client crashes.
There are still more details on which we are working. At the moment we are still working on fixing the vibration of vehicles inside modified ground. We will keep you updated.
Added a protection map for consoles
In the “Ground Breaking” update, we added this new feature to the protection analysis - a “protection map” button. Although these mechanics sound similar, this new thing is pretty interesting. It builds on the armour of the vehicle that you are looking at, a map of vulnerable areas that can be hit by a selected shell type: it is no longer necessary to shoot manually at the entire vehicle to figure out which areas would be better to “hide” from the enemy. Highly convenient!
Today the “protection map” also appeared on the console version of War Thunder. Have fun exploring it!
Returned the belt choice for premium aircraft
Good news - this bug only appeared in test flights. The bad news is that it did occur. In test flight the weaponry belt selection didn’t work on premium aircraft in the reference modification.
Thanks to your bug reports we learned about this issue and quickly fixed it. have fun getting acquainted with the vehicles.
Fixed the display of textures
Something went wrong in this update. We fixed the textures of airfields, the decorations from the “bushes” section disappearing at some angles and the mesh screens on the vehicles. We also returned the missing textures of machine guns in turrets, the textures of some aircraft and missiles and even put back textures that were blocking the sight view in SB game mode.
A bit of retrospective
Immediately after the release of the “Ground breaking” update we gathered the initial feedback from the community that included your complaints about the bugs that showed up. If you encountered any of these - it is already fixed. Once again - thank you for the feedback that you leave under the announcements of major updates on the website and in the special thread on the forum.
We fixed a bug where the air respawn point in combined realistic battles appeared 15 kilometers away from the battlefield. Now the remote respawn point only works in battles involving top ranked aircraft - BR of 7.7 and higher.
Returned small ground units to aircraft AB, such as light pillboxes, machine guns and cannons that suddenly disappeared.
Restored the proper operation of the aircraft radar warning system (RWR) which might have failed to activate when, for example, your helicopter has been detected by enemy radar.
Promptly fixed the interface for helicopters - right in the first hour after the release of the major update and made many other important fixes so that nothing would prevent you from enjoying the “Ground breaking” update.
More improvements
For this digest we have prepared a large set of useful fixes and game improvements. Be sure to read the full list which we have prepared in the separate changelog - there are many interesting things.
Once again, many thanks for all your bug reports that you submitted in our bug report section on the War Thunder forums.

Our latest major update ‘Groundbreaking’ brings many improvements to all areas of the game! Including new maps, visual effects, and various new vehicles - and lets not forget our new game nation - Israel! Currently hosting the premium Spitfire LF Mk.IXe and A-4E late. The biggest feature coming in this update though is of course terramorphing - now bombs, large caliber guns and tanks wielding dozer blades can modify and shape the terrain and alter the course of battle!
Terramorphing
Terramorphing mechanics have been added. Terrain and soil now interact with caterpillars and dozer blades on vehicles, bombs and rocket explosions leave craters on the terrain surfaces.
Aircraft
10 new or upgraded aircraft, new guided bombs and targeting pods.
In the coming major update "Ground Breaking", we have prepared new guided bombs for War Thunder aircraft. Let's see some of them in details!
In the previous "Direct Hit" update, the first guided aerial bombs appeared in the game, it is a special type of guided aerial weaponry that allows you to hit ground targets from a very high altitude. In the upcoming update “Ground Breaking" we will add new GBUs to the game for different playable nations.
AGM-62A Walleye I and AGM-62A Walleye I ER
US-produced AGM-62 Walleye I ER aircraft guided bombs with television seeker have a working distance of about 25 km, so launch can be made from all practical altitudes in the game. The bomb has high quality guidance equipment that provides the pilot with a perfectly distinguishable picture of the area where it is to be dropped. The power of the warhead on the bomb is more than 260 kg in TNT equivalent, this will guarantee the destruction of any ground unit at the point of impact. The AGM-62A Walleye will enter service not only with American aviation (for example, on the F-4E Phantom II that use the AGM-62A Walleye I), but also on foreign models - for example, the Israeli A-4E Skyhawk is armed with AGM-62A Walleye I ER (“extended range”) bombs with enlarged wings with a large sweep angle that increases the gliding range.
BGL-400 and BGL-1000
The guided bombs of French production with a laser seeker that will appear in the arsenal of the Jaguar A strike fighter. The bombs differ in the mass of the warhead and operate by illuminating the desired point of impact with a laser: the operator selects a site on the surface, captures the selected area and launches the bomb, locking on to the selected area until the bomb hits. For guidance across the entire range of these guided weapons, including guided air-to-air missiles and AS-30L Nord missiles, the ATLIS II laser/electro-optical targeting pod is used that has an automatic target tracking and is capable of illuminating targets with a laser even in the rear hemisphere
Mk.13
British free-fall guided bombs that can be researched in the top-tier Jaguar GR. 1A strike aircraft. To launch them, the TIALD laser/optical guidance targeting pod is also used that provides the highest drop accuracy and ease of guidance.
