War Thunder is getting a new aircraft, created by one of our players as part of our revenue share program. Meet the magnificent German twin-engine Ta 154A-1!

As you may already know, War Thunder has a revenue share program which allows players to create their own vehicle models and receive a portion of the income from the sales of these models in the game. In one of our recent updates, we presented the He 219 night fighter, created by the player Daniil “Joy_Division__” Zaitsev. Today, we are pleased to present a new vehicle created in the revenue share program – the German twin-engine Ta 154A-1 night interceptor.

The Ta 154A-1 was created by the legendary Focke-Wulf designer, Kurt Tank for the same reasons that the He 219 was created – Germany had an urgent need for a modern night interceptor to give them at least some chance against the mass raids from Allied bombers. The idea for the aircraft was inspired by the British Mosquito – highly effective, high-altitude, fast and... wooden. It was the aircraft's wooden construction that gave German high command most of its doubts – the industry was tailored for steel and metal alloys, but Kurt Tank managed to convince the doubtful officials that Germany had the ability to take up the manufacture of wooden interceptors

Make sure your tank is equipped with good cleats – they’re far more important in this area than maximum speed. Welcome to "38th Parallel", a place where the latest achievements of engineering meld with the rural life of East Asia.
Of course, the main feature of this battlefield is the massive dam visible from any point on the map. In fact, it is thanks to this dam that the entire location exists: the water held back from the dam opened up kilometers of fertile land, now covered in rice fields all the way to the horizon. Fans of sniper battles are sure to be satisfied

"38th Parallel" will be available in War Thunder update 1.65 “Way Of The Samurai” for mixed battles in all modes.
Oh yeah. And try not to ruin the crops ;)

The Chi-Ha Short Gun is a medium fire support tank designed by Japan near the end of the war. Equipped with an uncharacteristically large (for Japanese tanks) 120 mm ship cannon, this ‘shorty’ is sure to amaze you with its ‘naval’ caliber!

The Chi-Ha Short Gun is a medium fire support tank designed by Japan by the end of World War II. Land-based ground forces required a fire-support tank to fight against long-term fortifications and firing positions, and the Type 2 Ho-I developed in 1942 partially fulfilled this demand. Nonetheless, in the opinion of several military figures, its 75 mm howitzer was insufficiently powerful on the battlefield, so Japanese tank designers went on to try multiple times to create a tank with more solid armament. The result of one such attempt was the Chi-Ha Kai 12 cm Short Gun.

Developed by order of the Imperial Japanese Navy to strengthen naval infantry divisions, the Chi-Ha Short Gun was an ordinary Chi-Ha Kai rearmed with a 120 mm short-barreled naval cannon. The weapon itself, which American experts imaginatively dubbed the 12 cm Short Gun in post-war documents, was borrowed from the merchant fleet arsenal. At sea, merchant and transport vessels often came under attack from enemy submarines, against which high-caliber short-barreled cannons with high-explosive shells were often used. It was exactly this kind of weapon that was used to rearm the seriously outdated Type 97 Chi-Ha Kai tank at the end of 1944.
