War Thunder - TheShaolinMonk

Pilots and tankers!
Today we present to you, a very unique task involving the control over a strategic point. For this task, the battle will unfold at Mozdok, or more precisely in a particularly small area of it: the central road. Whichever team controls it will be able to ensure the speedy delivery of supplies to their own side, but the battle promises to be unusual, with each side controlling entirely different types of forces, one side in the air and the other on the ground.

From October the 21th 12:00 GMT to October the 24th 07:00 GMT
Take part in “The Road for the Brave” AB-Event by defending strategic points in
ground force vehicles, or attacking in air force vehicles to seize control!

Event Goals
The team in control of aircraft must capture a road initially belonging to the ground force team, and in turn, they must defend the road against capture for 15 minutes.

The road can be captured by making a short run along it with an aircraft’s landing gear making contact with the ground, similar to the Airfield capture in Arcade domination aircraft battles.
  • Victory is awarded to the pilots after 5 successful captures of the road.
  • Victory is awarded to the tankers if the road is successfully defended for 15 minutes.
Both sides will use rank one vehicles. Command has been unable to provide any anti-aircraft guns to the tankers’ side.

We present the most widely produced Soviet boat of the Second World War – the G-5 motor torpedo boat.

Development of the G-5 torpedo boat began way back in 1928, under the direction of the famous aircraft designer Tupolev. This small and nimble vessel was created to combat large enemy ships. Her main role was to approach the enemy ship, fire off two torpedoes and quickly retreat before the enemy’s deck artillery turns you into a pile of duralumin and wood splinters.

The G-5 was equipped with two AM-34 aircraft engines designated GAM-34 and specially adapted for use on naval vessels. In general, these engines were in extremely high demand in the pre-war Soviet period – War Thunder players will already be familiar with them from the TB-3 and MBR-2 airplanes. Practically identical engines were placed in the SMK tanks and the experimental SU-100Y SPG. A powertrain of two of these engines allowed the boat to reach 51 knots (over 94 km/h). The boat was a little over 19 meters long and had a crew of just 6. It had no artillery armament save for a DShK machine gun. The little G-5’s main firepower was in two 53-38 caliber 533 mm torpedoes in dropping torpedo racks. These torpedoes were not launched forward, but were released from the rear of the G-5 in the direction of the boat’s travel instead. To get out of the way of her own torpedoes, the boat had to immediately change course after releasing them.

The events 'Large Calibres!' and 'Rocket Science'
will be available with +20% Research Points and & +20% Silver Lions bonuses!

Only enemies which have been destroyed and torn to shreds can be considered ‘not dangerous’, and so, what better way to achieve this than with large calibre weapons? Pilots and tankers, this weekend only, take part in these ‘one shots’ events: "Large Calibres" and "Rocket Science!"

Large Calibres
In the 'Large Calibres' Arcade event, the most hard-hitting aircraft, with 37mm cannons or higher, will go head to head in unforgiving aerial battles. Destroy enemies and lead your team to victory to achieve an additional bonus of +20% to your battle reward.

Rocket Science
In the “Rocket Science” event, ground vehicles which are armed with guided and unguided missiles will be pitted against one another in explosive combat! Victory will go to the team which is first to achieve 100 frags. It will be interesting to find out what is more dangerous: the precision of guided missiles, or the mad flurry of unguided missiles.
The event will take place on the location “ Tunisia”.
