In the upcoming "Weapons of Victory" update, will be able to get a variety of new vehicles. Fans of japanese aviation can try out the Ki-21-1ko first rank bomber. We have also prepared a half-track self-propelled artillery vehicle which will be located on the first rank in the US branch - The Diamond T (Autocar) M3 75 mm GMC.

Diamond T(Autocar) M3 75 mm GMC

Vyacheslav "BVV_d" Bulannikov, Game Designer:
A self-propelled artillery system based on the half-tracked M3 transporter armed with a 75mm M1897A4 gun. This vehicle was a slightly improved version of the ACS T12 75mm GMC and was created as a light tank destroyer. Despite the relatively senior age of the gun (this gun was a modification of the French 75 mle 1897, and as you can see from the name - its service began in the 19th century), it had good ballistics, it was a little weaker than the Sherman 75mm cannons, and could quite confidently defeat medium tanks at the start of the war. In our game, this self-propelled artillery has a good dynamic, is powerful, compared to similarly ranked vehicle weapons, but it has weak armour protection, so use it carefully - do not put yourself under direct enemy fire, since even machinegun fire is dangerous to it.

Svetlana Smirnova, Artist:
This self-propelled unit is not one to stand out from any others with its design features - on this M3 self-propelled vehicle, a field gun of 75 mm calibre has been installed. A portion of the ammunition was placed below the gun carriage and the rest of it was placed in the floor of the fighting compartment. The vehicle was equipped with a gun shield of box-shaped form - they were flat previously which proved insufficient protection for a crew in combat.

Ki-21-1ko

This aircraft has a maximum bomb load of 1000 kg, with different presets: 20x50 kg Type 94 bombs (four of them on external pylons); 10x100 kg Type 94 or Type 3 bombs (one of them on the external pylon); 4 x 250 kg Type 92 bombs; 2x500 kg Type 92 bombs. The defensive armament of the aircraft is two 7.7mm Te-1 machineguns; and an army twin-barreled 7.7 mm Type 89 "special" machine gun.

Kirill "Lassar" Vostretsov, Game Designer:
The first production army bomber of the Ki-21 line. Most clearly manifested itself with combat operations in China. Despite the common problem for all bombers at the time: weak defensive armament, no protection for the crew or the fuel tanks, a small bomb load - at the same time it had a great range of flight and speed in comparison with all existing aircraft of similar type around the world.

Yuri Titarev, Artist:
With a relatively small size for a bomber, the polygon count for this model is one of the highest in the game, almost 87,000 polygons. This is due to the fact that a lot of attention was paid to creating the smooth, rounded shapes with this aircraft, typical of Japanese aviation. This aircraft has almost no sharp edges, all the elements are bound, polished and blended. Consequently, it was necessary to greatly increase the density of the mesh model to get smooth shading on any areas that were glazed.

Also, an interesting feature of this aircraft was its landing flaps control system. Each plate consists of the 11 pieces, each of which has its own animation.

For all our players who like attack aircraft there will be a pleasant surprise, the legendary Skyraider AD-2 will be introduced into our game. It will be added to the US tech tree in the "Weapons of Victory" update. In addition, we will be discussing the Sturmhaubitze 42 Ausf.G, 1943.

Skyraider AD-2
A fourth rank aircraft which is ideal for ground attack. As can be seen, there is one 20mm M3 cannon with 200 rounds per barrel on the central parts of the wings. Two Mk.51 bomb racks installed at the wing root, which together with the ventral mount can be used for various bombs weighing up to 2000 pounds (907kg) per attachment point or a torpedo type Mk.13-3. Under the folding outer-wing there are 12 pylons which are set to use Mk.9-2 missiles.

Kirill "Lassar" Vostretsov, Game Designer:
With the release of 1.49, this will clearly be one of the most effective rank 4 attack aircraft and potentially the most efficient one in the game. It has a large payload and the widest variety of armament options available - bombs, rockets and torpedoes

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=427969858
Yuri Titarev, Artist:
The aircraft is interesting for its "inflated" form. It combines both a massive rounded top and at the same time, the flat bottom of the fuselage. Three air brakes also add to the massiveness of the aircraft. Due to the lack of propeller spinner you can easily see the radiator flaps in front of engine and you can clearly see how they function during animation. The engine itself is installed at a slight angle relative to the axis of the aircraft. We had to spend a lot of time to implement both main landing gear, and their fairings. The model has a lot of animated objects, folding wings, a hook, brake pads, and much more.

Sturmhaubitze 42 Ausf.G, 1943
This german self-propelled gun, introduced at the second rank, will be a serious threat to its opponents.

Vyacheslav "BVV_d" Bulannikov, Game Designer:
Assault variant of the Stug-3 SPG, where the 75mm anti-tank gun was replaced with a 105mm Rheinmetall-Borsig StuH42 howitzer, which was created based on the leFH 18 howitzer light field gun.

The first representative of this type of vehicle in the game. Powerful high-explosive shells allow combat with light armoured vehicles and medium tanks weaker areas are targeted, and HEAT ammunition capable of destroying even heavy tanks.

Svetlana Smirnova, Artist:
An assault howitzer from 1943. This variant is based on the StuH 40 ausf G, the chassis of which was best suited for installing a 105 mm howitzer. Originally howitzers were equipped with a “two-chamber” muzzle brake which we can see in this version. Later, from September of 1944, howitzers designed for installation on this vehicle were produced without a muzzle brake.

The longest conflict the US army ever participated in entered the annals of history as the Battle of Hürtgen Forest. The operation that lasted for several months was intended to tie up the German forces to stop any reinforcement to the North and also to capture the frontlines from the flanks.

War Thunder are proud to present a new historical location which reflects this grandiose conflict that took place in Western Germany.

So what will players see in this location? A beech forest dressed in red and gold, surrounded by hills and indented with dangerous mountain streams and rivers.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=427270044
The idyllic village is surrounded by neat fields and cropland. There is a war on after all, and as a result of the fierce fighting, the countryside cottages gape with holes from many days of bombing and artillery shelling.

The allies must drive out the entrenched German forces at the village of Vossenack, but it won't be easy. The enemy may be hiding in any ravine or behind any bush, rock or ruin.

At the height of a bird's flight a fierce battle rages in the sky. Aircraft have access to a 64 x 64 km area. The size of the ground based combat is sufficiently large – 4 x 4 km of peaks and valleys: forests, fields, rocky riverbanks and rural ruins. The location provides a multitude of possibilities for maneuvering. The map has places to turn and use alternative routes to flank the enemy. It has numerous open spaces and plenty of sniper positions to overwatch them.

Please note that this location is still in development, and the screenshots shown may differ from the final version of Hürtgen Forest.
