This April, Kubinka Tank Museum introduced the restored T-34 “Sniper”.
The vehicle had been sunk in a bog in the Pskov region in the winter of 1942/43 and was raised in the summer of 2003 and sent to Kubinka for restoration.

Unforgotten: T-34 "Sniper"
https://youtu.be/lR558JgJNoA

The name “Sniper” was not given to the tank by accident. Just after its construction, the vehicle joined the “named” tank units where every vehicle had its own name. The title “Sniper” was awarded only to vehicles that distinguished themselves in battle and destroyed many enemy tanks.

The tank has been fully restored - the engine was replaced, the chassis restored, components and assemblies repaired. The vehicle was painted according to how it actually looked during World War 2. In the future it will take part in historical reenactments and ceremonial events. .

The film crew from War Thunder - a strategic partner of Kubinka Tank Museum - prepared a video report about the final work done on the tank restoration. In the nearest major update, the decal “Sniper” will be available for all T-34’s :

This weekend, our automated air tournament “4x4 format” will take place, which will be available in all modes!

The decisive battles in the “Gladiators” tournament uses the 4x4 format: a pilots personal skill helps to achieve the end result, but without proper battle area evaluation and teamwork you cannot gain your victory. The actions of one pilot affect all the others and each member’s contribution may prove to be decisive.

The tournament is called “Aviation 4x4” (mode is displayed). You can locate it in the “events and tournaments” tab. After the tournament ends, the players who achieved the first 1000 places in their respective modes will get an unique title “Combat master 4x4”.

Play, compete and join your friends and see how you perform in battle where any mistake can cost you and your team the match!

Tournament Rules
  • Each new participant begins with a rating of 0 and earns points through victories, depending on the other participants’ ratings.
  • The matchmaker for the tournament will balance your opponents and allies based on your current rating.
  • If you choose to play in a squad - your squad will be balanced in accordance with the squad-member who has the highest personal tournament rating.
  • Available aircraft will be of rank 2 and 3, shown in the description of the event in game.
  • Prizes will be awarded within five days after the tournament has ended.
  • Tournament battle results do not count for other events and/or specials.

Dear Players!
Over the past days we've been trying the new Mouse Aim mechanics on the Work-In-Progress Client, and many players participated in testing and provided valuable feedback for us. Our developers have worked hard to analyze the feedback and further improve the feeling of Mouse Aim, and again, a new version of Mouse Aim 2.0 is available on WIP now (10.04.2015). Please, download it now and try it - as we need your feedback once more!

Most of the changes in this update are targeted at Mouse Aim performance in Arcade Battles, as the great majority of feedback about the behavior in Realistic Battles has been positive. But even there, we've implemented some further improvements you should try out and voice your opinion on!

Changes include:
  • The nose of aircraft will no longer 'drop' on horizontal maneuvers; the aircraft will maintain a level plane on all altitudes (esp. AB)
  • The aircraft's reaction has been improved: The instructor will now act switfly to mouse input (esp. AB)
  • Rolling the aircraft with keyboard (A, D keys) will not limit Mouse input, which was especially noticeable on certain fast-rolling aircraft (esp. AB)
  • and more tweaks and improvements!
To try out Mouse Aim 2.0, just check the WIP-Checkbox in the launcher and start testing! We will continue to use the two topics we've created for your feedback, one for Arcade Battles and one for Realistic Battles. However, we've reset the poll, so it better reflects the opinion on the current iteration.

Thanks to all of you who are participating in the testing!
