'Battle of the Korsun-Cherkassy Pocket' (+30% ) is available!

The Battle of Korsun-Cherkassy-Pocket was an offensive operation of the 1st and 2nd Ukrainian Fronts and was executed between January the 24th and February the 17th, 1944. The goal of this operation was to destroy the Wehrmacht groups located at Korsun, as part of a strategic offensive of Soviet troops in the Ukraine.
The operation ended in the night between the 16th and the 17th of February, with only 30 000 to 32 000 soldiers of the Wehrmacht able to break the encirclement. General Stemmermann, the commander of the German forces, died in combat. During the Battle of the Korsun-Cherkassy Pocket, two Armeekorp’s and the reinforcements of the defending Germans were destroyed. It was a blood bath for both sides, with neither of the combatants getting off unscathed.

The war was already underway, and the aircraft was needed immediately. As a result, for the first time since the First World War, the US Army purchased an aircraft from abroad, namely the Canberra. The war in Korea at that time was already over, and the aircraft simply had not been produced in time. True to form, the Americans almost immediately started projects to modernize this aircraft. Initially, with the addition of some components and assemblies, navigation equipment, weapons and so on. As a result, we have a classic example of the evolution of the aircraft. Namely the B-57B! It was not just a new version of the aircraft, it created a standard for many years in layout of aircraft of this class. Experience after these tanks were used in the war with Finland, showed the need to strengthen the armour of this machine.

Almost every player, who has fought a battle on the more maneuverable ground vehicles, has faced a situation where it becomes hard to both control your vehicle and conduct aimed fire during the heat of the battle. In reality these two tasks were done by different members of the crew, allowing each to focus on their own job. In War Thunder, though, everything requires the direct control from the player and in many cases this leads to the fact that it is much more difficult for player to complete both of them.
Introducing the new "driver" mode! In this mode, your vehicle will be controlled by the driver, who will steer based on your commands and at the same time will attempt to develop the highest possible speed. Currently, the operation of it will work like this - you can enable this feature at any time by holding the right mouse button, at that point the current position of the cursor will be defined as "neutral", small changes in the mouse position relative to this direction will give orders to the driver to turn the vehicle. In this mode you can continue to travel through the battlefield as well as performing never-ending manoeuvres around the enemy vehicles while maintaining aimed fire on them.
