Gaijin Entertainment starts a long-term collaboration with the Russian Kubinka Tank Museum.

This report about the Sturmhaubitze 42 self-propelled howitzer restоration is just the first result of this new partnership. War Thunder players already saw some of the 360 tanks exhibited in Kubinka. The museum provided the Soviet T-34-85 and the German Pz. Kpfw IV medium tanks for display on War Thunder Igromir 2013 Expo stand, where we presented the upcoming Ground Forces. See the video about that event.

At the beginning of the week, information about OpenSSL packet vulnerability was published (it provides a https-connection between server and user). We, like many international companies (such as Google, Yandex, Facebook) use that package, but do not rely on it completely.

According to our research even using this vulnerability an exploiter can not access your personal data (password, log-in etc.) or any other game information since access to this data from external sources is limited to our services only.

We removed the vulnerability on our external servers within 3 hours after the first publication. Thus our servers were protected from vulnerability within a very short timespan.

However, we ask our users to regularly check the announcements of any of the companies whose services you use carefully and take the necessary measures: changing passwords, enabling two-factor authorization, regular housekeeping with your own data security

Although it would be some time until rockets could be used effectively from the air, the weapon itself had already been used in a military context for centuries. The first notable use of rockets from aircraft was in 1916 when Allied aircraft used the Le Prieur rocket in the air-to-air role against enemy observation balloons. However, it would be against ground targets and sea targets that the air launched rocket would be used to greatest effect from the Second World War onwards.

Unplugged is hosted by YouTube celebrity Ashly Burch of ‘Hey Ash Whatcha Playin?’ fame. Each episode of Unplugged features celebrity contestants going head-to-head in a video game and then experiencing the real thing. In the latest episode airing on April 10th, two special guests will go from playing War Thunder on a Surface Pro 2 in a hangar in the Las Vegas desert to flying actual high-performance stunt planes in true dogfighting action, where they’ll experience up to 9Gs of blackout-inducing force.

This is the first time nation limited aircraft has been used in arcade mode

At 23.45 on the 8th of April 1940, the Norwegian patrol vessel "Pol III" was on routine patrol in the Oslo fjord, when it spotted unidentified ships on the horizon. A few minutes later it was rammed and shot at by a German “E” boat. The invasion of Norway had begun.

In february of 1940, General Nikolaus von Falkenhorst was given the crucial task of planning the invasion of Norway. He was to create a plan to assault both Denmark and Norway as quickly as possible. Within five hours he had a rough idea of the invasion, he presented it to Hitler, and was given the order to proceed developing his strategy. Falkenhorst reported back to the Fuhrer in March, that all the units in the heer, the luftwaffe and the kriegsmarine was ready for attack.

"Firmes Volamos" was the motto of the squadron that stands for "Firm we fly".

Almost 800 Argentinian volunteers flew with the Royal Air Force in WWII.

History would suggest that Argentina remained neutral for the duration of the war, but beyond the official stance, around 600 Argentinians, mostly children of British background, decided to leave their neutrality behind and fight against the axis power, either enlisting for the RAF or the Canadian Air Force ( RCAF ). They flew in company with British, Polish, Canadians and many others who also bore the British flag, to defend the homeland of their forefather.

On April 6th, 1942, 164 squadron RAF was established in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire as a fighter squadron, and obtained operational status in early May with assignments of Supermarine Spitfire Mk Va's, using the code of 'FJ' as their squad decal. On May 5th of that year, he was transferred to Skeabrae, Orkney to return to Peterhead on 10th September but this time with the Spitfire Mk Vb.

The attack on Yugoslavia and aerial bombing of Belgrade was directly influenced by a military coup d'état that was carried out on March 27th by a group of Royal Yugoslav Air Force and Yugoslav Royal Guard officers led by Brigadier General Borivoje Mirkovic which was opposed to a Tripartite Pact signing which in turn was done by the Yugoslav government once all of it’s neighbours had signed it.

The Coup d'état angered Hitler who took it as personal insult and and was so angered that he was determined, in his words, "to destroy Yugoslavia militarily and as a nation" (Jugoslawien militärisch und als Staatsgebilde zu zerschlagen), and to do so "without waiting for possible declarations of loyalty of the new government". On the same day he issued Führer Directive 25 which called Yugoslavia a hostile state. That day Hitler decided Belgrade would be bombed in retribution.
