New Maps - Dragonfall Castle
Two new maps are now available to intrepid adventurers in the Dragonfall Castle region! These two maps are Malakai's Sewers, and Malakai's Manor.


Of course, these new additions wouldn't be complete without new challenges and rewards;

New Enemies
  • Stone Wolf - This malicious canine can morph itself into stone for a short period of time, rendering it immune to damage. This also taunts nearby towers into attacking it! The Stone Wolf has an elite variant; a bigger, badder, Stone Wolf.
  • Sniper Wyvern - This flying fiend boasts a larger attack range than its other wyvern counterparts. 
New Boss - Lord Malakai
An ancient vampiric lord who feasts on the essence of the living! Not only was Lord Malakai responsible for the Hunter's supernatural abilities, but his curse as well. Striking down this foe will not be easy, but you must try for the good of Etheria!

Malakai's Manor Unique Mods
  • Blood Craze - When damaging an enemy, you have an X% chance to charm them for 3 seconds. Then, they explode, dealing Y% of your ability power as damage to up to ten other enemies. 10 second cooldown.
  • Spectral Vanishing - After taking damage from an enemy, you have an X% chance to become invisible to enemies for 5 seconds. 15 second cooldown.
  • Spicy Garlic - Enemies killed have an X% chance of spawning 'spicy garlic' that lasts for Y seconds. Spicy garlic poisons surrounding enemies dealing Z% of your ability power as damage over 10 seconds.
  • Vampiric Embrace - Gives you a life-stealing aura, dealing X damage to up to 10 enemies within it. Heals for Y% of damage dealt.
  • Wrath of the Bat - You gain X% jump height. While in the air, attacks deal Y% more damage.
New Pets
  • Friendly Ghost - Obtainable on Malakai's Manor. Pet Ability: Ring of Fire. Ring of Fire: Pet unleashes a blast of blue flames, burning enemies hit for 500% hero damage and igniting them for 6 seconds. Also obtainable as a golden variant.
  • A new, secret second pet lurks somewhere deep within Malakai's Sewer.
New Twitch Drops
  • The 'Spooky Skeleton Arms' back flair is now available for those who watch 2 hours on participating channels.
  • The 'After Life Portal' ground flair is now available for those who watch 4 hours on participating channels.

Winter Wonderland Returns!
The tavern and town have been decorated in a cheery fashion once more to balance the eerie and sinister atmospheres introduced by Malaki's Sewers and Manor. This marks the end of the Halloween Spooktacular event for now.


Winter Themed Goodies return and are available to claim each day from under the Winter Tree in the tavern or town.


Emporium
  • In the giving spirt, prices for many in-game purchases have been reduced by 50% until the end of the season!
  • The Winter Wonderland Skin Bundle returns to the emporium. It includes; Reaper of Future Winters, Nymph of Yesteryear, Mournful Moorley, and Lord of Winter’s Bounty.
  • The Winter Wonderland Flair Bundle returns to the emporium. It includes; Krampus Hat, Krampus Tail, Krampus Wings, Snowflake Wings, and Candy Cane Wings.
  • Winter Wonderland Accessory Bundle returns. It includes; Elf Hat, Festive Antlers, and Gingerbread Mask.
  • Winter Pet Bundle returns. It includes; Penguin Commander Egg, King Nutcracker Egg, and Snow Mage Egg. Individual winter pets are available from the Winter Tree.
  • Golden winter pets return to the Black market Dealer.

  • Changed armor damage reduction cap to 75%.

The Hunter
The Hunter was once a warrior who was turned into a vampire by Lord Malakai. He now hunts other vampires to protect Etheria from their wrath, despite struggling with his newfound powers and thirst for blood. He is known as the "Vampire Hunter" and is a symbol of hope for the people of Etheria.

Weapon - Bows

Secondary attack - Charged Shot 

Abilities

Wooden Stake - Shoots a sharpened wooden stake that pierces through all enemies it hits.

Notes: it has no cooldown

Cloaked - The Hunter cloaks himself in shadow, becoming more difficult to target. While cloaked, all attacks are critical hits.

Blood Effigy - The Hunter creates an intangible copy of himself that fires his bow at nearby enemies, prioritizing the Hunter's target.

Blood Siphon - Fires a bloody orb that steals life from nearby enemies. The orb moves quickly with no foes nearby.

Towers

Spectral Knight -  This animated coffin summons Spectral Knights from the grave to attack in a wide arc.

Sonic Bat - Attacks enemies with piercing sonic waves, stunning them for a short duration.

Gargoyle Statue - Build a Gargoyle Statue that spawns four Gargoyles that fly to and explode on contact with enemies damaging and poisoning all enemies hit.

Werewolf Commander - Swipes at nearby enemies with massive claws. Each swipe also creates a small, piercing ranged attack.

Shards

Spectral Amplification - Increases the Defense Range of the Spectral Knight by x% and increases the AoE of its attacks by y%.

Napalm Gargoyles - When Gargoyles explode there is a 20% chance to ignite their target's armor, causing them to take x% extra damage for y seconds.

EMP Gargoyles - Gargoyles have an x% chance on hit to stun the target for y seconds

Natural Frequency - Enemies explode when killed dealing x% of the tower's base damage.

Overpowering Screech - Increases the Defense Power of the Sonic bat tower by x% but removes the stun.

Rebounding Strike - Attacks against the Werewolf Commander have an x% chance to do no damage and it deals y% Physical Tower Damage to the attacker.

Werewolf General - Increases the Defense Power of nearby defenses to x% Does not buff the Werewolf Commander, but the Werewolf Commander gains y% Defense Health.

Ambush - Increase Hero Critical Strike Damage by x% while Cloaked is active.

Exploding Effigy - When Blood Effigy expires it explodes dealing x% of your ability power and stunning for y% seconds.

Blood Ritual - Reduces the blood cost of your abilities by x%. After using an ability, take damage equal to 10% of your maximum Health.

Bloody Strikes - x% chance on hit to Bleed target, dealing y% of your Hero Damage stat as magical damage every second for 5 seconds. Bleeding enemies take z% more damage.

Extended Cloak - Increase Cloaked duration by x seconds.

Stunning Surprise - At the end of cloaked, stun all nearby enemies for x seconds.

Enhanced Effigy - Increases the damage of Blood Effigy by x%.

Effigy Overdrive - Increases the damage of Blood Effigy by x% but reduces the lifespan by y seconds.

Exsanguination - Gain x blood upon defeating an enemy.

Hunter's Instinct - Gain an x% chance to Dodge an incoming attack, taking 0 damage.

Lasting Siphon - Increases the duration of Blood Siphon by x seconds.

Poison Siphon - Blood Siphon is replaced with Poison Siphon dealing x% of your ability power as magical Poison Damage over 5 seconds.

Sharpened Stake - Increases the damage of Wooden Stake by x%.

Surging Siphon - Increases the damage of Blood Siphon by x%.

Tri-Stake - The Hunter now throws 2 additional Wooden Stakes but reduces the damage of Wooden stakes by x%.

Wound - Wooden Stake causes the target to bleed, dealing x% of your Ability Power stat as magical damage. Wound enemies take y% more damage.

Mods
Lucky Strikes - +x Hero Damage and Ability Power each time you Critical Strike. Resets on non-Crits. ( Max Stacks 15 )

Empowering Claws - Each Werewolf Commander melee attack generates a stack that increases the damage of its ranged attacks by x. Stacks up to 6 times. Stacks are lost after 10 seconds of no melee hits.

Defender Pass

The Defender Pass is a new system that involves the use of daily/weekly challenges, and traditional play to reward the Defender Pass experience.  Getting enough of this experience will level up the pass and award items, materials, cosmetics, and currency. This system will include a free and paid version that increases the amount of rewards. Purchasing the paid version of the pass at any time will unlock any other previously gained progress.

Halloween Themed Tavern and Town

The town and tavern have been given a Halloween theme. Peepers now has the spooktacular crate and a defender pack as well as the normal daily gift!

Stat Squish

We have decreased all damage and health values of players and enemies by 10x. You should not notice any in-game difference of difficulty except in Onslaught floor 946 and above and high survival waves.  This was done to help avoid damage numbers above the 32-bit integer limit.

Balance
  • Increased the Firework Cannon damage scalar by 15%.
  • Increased the Sand Viper damage scalar by 15%.
  • Increased Angry Nimbus base attack rate from 1s to 1.25s.
  • Decreased the Nether Archer damage scalar by 20%.
  • Decreased Ancient Life steal from 1% per upgrade to 0.5% per upgrade.
  • Decreased Drill Smash scalar by 30%.
  • Decreased Explosive Blades Shard scaling from 1,500-5,000% to 500-2300%.
  • Crystal Hammer Max range increased from 4500 to 5000 and the range scalar from 0.5 to 0.65.
  • Moss Hornet Nest max number of bees on a single target increased from 3 to 6.
  • Changed armor formula as well as resistance calculations, the new armor formula is:
ArmorDamageResist = Min(Damage / (Damage + ArmorStat * 25), 0.3)

the cap is 70% damage resistance from just armor. The rest of the damage reduction calculation is: 

TotalDamageReduction = Min(ArmorDamageResist * DamageResistStat, 0.05)

Then this is used as a multiplier for incoming damage. For example, if you get capped damage resist from armor, 70%, and you have a total of 95% resist from equipment and talents the damage calculation would be:

FinalDamage = Damage * Min(0.3 * 0.1), 0.05)

This is an overall net buff across all chaos levels.

Changed petrify to not accumulate damage and removed damage increase while petrified.

Moved survival buffs to start at waves 276 - 466 ( Adjusted for stat Squish ).

Bug Fixes

  • Skip to wave now grants bounce mana past wave 70. The Formula is BaseBuildMana + (DU/150)*(WaveNumber-70) so for example Gates of Dragon fall on wave 131 Would be 800+(600/150)*(|131-70|) = 1044 mana. The multiplier, WaveNumber-70, is set to 0 if it goes negative.

Endless Survival


New Gamemode - Survival

A new gamemode has been added to Dungeon Defenders 2 - Endless Survival! In this exciting new gamemode, players will choose a map and attempt to get as far as they can before being defeated. The enemies will start at a strength level similar to Chaos I, but will quickly get stronger every wave, eventually surpassing even the highest floors of Onslaught! Every five waves completed will reward the player with items, potentially including Survival-exclusive items and new Godly equipment. There will also be per-map checkpoints every fifth wave, so players don’t have to start from scratch every time they wish to play. The checkpoints are obtained relatively, so if your highest checkpoint on a map is 10, you join someone on checkpoint 15 on the same map and you complete 5 waves with them, your checkpoint goes up to 11 instead of 16. The checkpoint also only goes up if the waves you are completing are higher than your checkpoint’s value.



New Quality - Godly: The new highest quality in Dungeon Defenders 2 is Godly. Similar to Legendary, Godly will have 3 Mod and 3 Shard slots. However, Godly will have an all new tertiary stat and can roll with 3Mods upon acquisition. Godly Gear can only be obtained by playing Survival.

New Material - Godly Orb: Godly Orbs are a new material used to Advance Legendary gear into Godly, and can also reroll the tertiary stat on Godly equipment at the Blacksmith NPC. Godly Orbs can only be obtained by selling Godly Gear.

New Item - Survival Bag: Survival Bags are the primary reward for survival awarded after every 5th wave is completed. Survival bags can contain Legendary Weapons, Armor, and Relics. They additionally give Gold, Motes, Hammers, and Chaos 1 - 10 Shards depending on the type of bag. Bags come in 4 tiers depending on the equivalent Chaos level completed - Plain, Shiny, Pristine, and Exquisite.

New Item - Survival Chest: Survival Chests are obtained similarly to Bags, but they only have a 20% chance of dropping every five waves. Survival chests contain Legendary Weapons, Armor, and Relics, but Pristine chests have a chance to drop Godly equipment instead. Exquisite Chests are guaranteed to drop at least one Godly item! Survival Chests also contain Survival Shards, Gold, and Materials with a chance to drop Defender Packs and one of two new Rings - Ice, and Life.
Survival Challenges
Every Survival map has its own challenge to complete wave 100, awarding 1,000,000 gold and a common defender pack. Additionally, there are five new flairs for survival obtained from completing the new challenges for getting survival checkpoints on any one map. The challenges for the survival checkpoints are Survivalist (Wave 75), Wave Conqueror (Wave 100), Endurance Champion (Wave 125), Wave Master (Wave 150), Eternal Survivor (Wave 175), and Endless Master (Wave 200).




Survival Shards

Brace For Impact - After using your slam ability, take x% less damage for 3 seconds.
Weakness Targeting - Increases damage by x% for every status effect on the enemy, with a maximum increase of 30%.
Double Time - Reduces build time for Defenses during Combat Phase by x%.
Struck by Inspiration - Hero attacks have x% chance to reset all ability cooldowns.
Heroic Convergence - While Heroic Wave is active, you gain an additional x% Hero Damage and x% Ability Power. However, the damage boost of Heroic Wave is reduced by 30%.
Icy Strikes - Your primary attacks chill enemies for 7 seconds making them move at x% movement speed
Long Shot - Increases damage the further you are from your target, up to +x% more damage.
Resolute Armor - Limits potential damage taken from any one hit to x% of your maximum Health.
Stand Your Ground - While standing still, Hero Damage and Ability Power are increased by x%, and you take y% less damage.
Tranquil Haste - Increases your movement speed by x. Not active during Combat Phase.
Fleeting Rebirth - Increase the Defense Power and Health of the affected tower by x% for 35 seconds after spawning.

Thick Vines - World Tree damages enemies for an extra x% of your Defense Health.








Blacksmith: The Blacksmith no longer sells items, instead he has brand new Reforge and Devolve services. With the Reforge feature, you can reroll the tertiary stat on the godly gear in exchange for Godly Orbs and hammers. The Devolve feature allows you to devolve your gear from one chaos tier to the one below it, for example devolving a Relic item from Chaos IX -> Chaos VIII.

Explorer: The Relic Hunter’s name has been changed to Explorer as he no longer sells relics. Now he sells Survival Chests and Survival Shard packs in exchange for Godly Orbs.

  • Unique Pet Ability - Chained Saw - Fires a flying saw blade that deals 1500% hero damage and returns to the player dealing damage on the way back. Cooldown 30s.
Cyborgie - Premium Pet
  • Unique Pet Ability - Whirlwind - Increases speed by 50% and attacks deal 155% bonus electric Hero Damage for 6s. Cooldown 45s.

  • Engineer can now use Steam Blast and Orbital Cannon while running and jumping.
  • Reduced Drill Hold (Engineer right-click) damage scalar from 3.5 to 2.
  • Reduced the Range increase of the Enhanced Throw Shard by 15% and Damage by 50%.
  • Reduced the base and scaling of the damage increase from Kinetic Energy Shard by 40%.
  • Reduced the base damage increase from Broad Head Arrows by 35%.
  • Reduced the damage of the Magnetic Knight Tower by 25%, and fixed its upgrade scalar.
  • Magnetic Knight Tower now deals 5% decreased damage after every hit maxing at 50% damage reduction.
  • Increased the damage scalar of the Sentry Turret by 10%.
  • Made nimbus electric corruption attack now target more than 1 enemy.
  • Slime Pit changes:
  • Increased Damage scalar on slimes form 13.6 to 15
