Steven predicted in early September that the big Warframe expansion Fortuna, which developer Digital Extremes had said would be released in "late summer or early fall," might actually end up coming out in the late fall. And score one for the big brain on Steve, because the studio announced today that it will go live, free for all players, this November.
The open-world Fortuna will be 4-5 times larger than last year's Plains of Eidolon update, and will add "a different Orokin-infused look, feel, and experience to Warframe's growing universe." Players will take on bounties and missions in the underground internment camp of Fortuna, and "get wicked" across the exotic landscape of Venus on the new K-Drive-powered hoverboard.
November isn't exactly a to-the-day release date, but Digital Extremes has a habit of not announcing them until they're right on top of us anyway, so we're going with this for now. And it sounds like this will be an expansion worth keeping an eye on: Steven said in his early preview that Fortuna "looks like Warframe's most ambitious expansion yet."
Developer Digital Extremes has announced that Fortuna - Warframe's massive open-world Venus expansion - will be launching on PC in November, with an Xbox One and PlayStation 4 release due "soon after".
Fortuna was first unveiled during Warframe's third-annual TennoCon, which took place in July this year, and it looks spectacular. Much like last year's Plains of Eidolon expansion, Fortuna is entirely open-world - initially focussing on the titular, hub-like subterranean home of the Solaris United, before opening out onto the sprawling, snowy surface of Venus above.
When Digital Extremes debuted Fortuna at TennoCon, it did so with a lengthy, and very impressive, 30 minutes of gameplay, which you can see in the video below. It offers a small but sufficiently intriguing taste of the new activities available on the frozen Venusian wastes.
If you're a new Warframe player and fancy a little game-breaking fun, head on over to your nearest Archwing mission to experience a spacewalk like no other.
Warframe fans have discovered a bug in the PC version which allows players to fly through space without the need for a spaceship. As reported by Reddit user Kesu_, the bug works for players who have not yet built an Archwing - the flying vehicle you're supposed to use for these missions. It also appears to occur in any Archwing mission, and allows under-levelled players to access the (normally restricted) areas.
Thankfully, as a bit of a beginner myself, I haven't yet acquired the Archwing - thus allowing me to capture some footage of the bug. You can thank me for being a noob.
Each of the frames in Warframe aren t terribly complex to understand. They all move in basically the same way and have four unique abilities. There are 36 different frame types, which are basically character classes that you can swap between them at any point; assuming you ve unlocked them first, but they can also be tweaked further with mods. This is of course not counting the various Prime versions. In this guide, we will walk you through the basics of acquiring your first Warframes, as well as teach the basics to getting the most out of equipping Warframe mods.
