YOUR MAY UPDATE IS HERE, AND WITH IT A MUCH AWAITED FOCUS ON THE WAR!
THE WAR IS NOW AT THE CENTER OF THE EXPERIENCE
EVERY single battle, including staged battles, now counts towards the War! The war map is now accessible for all players right before the battle begins, after it has ended and even when in battle. Open your map at any point during a battle and get info about towns and assault teams involved.
The ingame map also has a new feature: Access the map by pressing “M” and use your mouse wheel to zoom in and out. Furthermore, when in matchmaking you can see the war map and the ongoing battles including current faction territory.
BIPODS ARE HERE!
A long awaited community request that is now live. New Bipods for Machine Guns and Anti Tank Weapons have been deployed in the field. All LMGs and anti-tank rifles can be mounted. Press the “C“ key to mount and unmount your weapon. With the bipod deployed, it is easier to control your weapon; less sway and less conefire makes it easier to hit your target.
The old M1919A4 has been upgraded to the new M1919A6 model that comes with a bipod and a shoulder stock, and last but not least a better iron sight adjustment. This new version of the Browning Machine Gun also takes advantage of our new rendering, which makes the weapon look really good in combat.
OTHER MAJOR IMPROVEMENTS
A new “Very High” graphics setting has been made available with this update, improving the Level of Detail over all distances for textures, terrain mesh and shadows. This results in less LoD changes, providing smoother and more immersive gameplay as well as less work for compression algorithms when streaming or recording the game which is really good news for streamers too!
We have made improvements to the net-code on our backend which will improve client/server communication.
Weapon audio rate of fire sync, max shots sounds per weapon and other audio improvements have been added. Full-automatic weapons now have a much more even sound frequency.
REMINDER: THE BATTLE OF DUNKIRK IS RAGING
To commemorate the events of May 1940, we have started a new War event. This time we are giving the advantage TO THE US Faction + All players who win at least 20 battles during the event will be gifted a special limited edition 'wartorn' weapon finish. These are amazing and they will be rewarded exclusively after the event!
1.15 is one of the most meaningful upgrades for Heroes & Generals since the game launched, and marks the beginning of a refocus on the War, which is what Heroes & Generals is all about. This is only the beginning, we will iterate and release more cool features that will emphasise the War in the coming weeks.
Until then, get in battles and make it count for your faction! Cheers RETO MOTO

On the 26th of May 1940, the battle of Dunkirk began. The Allied forces beaten and broken tried to retreat back to Great-Britain, many lives were lost.
War log day 12: US on the defensive!
The counterattack has started! The Soviet faction retook the Balkan and pushed into Italy, meanwhile the Germans are moving in from the north. Rotterdam is lost, Germans have landed on the beaches of Scotland, and both factions are closing in on Prague. Fight hard men! This war is not over yet!
War log day 11: Northern front
A line has been drawn by the German forces, occupying the northern parts of Europe. Fierce battles are fought in the Netherlands, Germany and Poland. The Soviet forces have been severely weakened and have withdrawn completely into Russia. Will they be able to counterattack?
War log day 7: Pushing into Russia
Dunkirk is out of reach for the Soviets and Germans now, we have been pushing them back on all fronts, and have now entered Russian soil. Will the Germans and Soviets be able to resist us? Or is this the beginning of the end for them? Only time will tell.
War log day 5: Assault on Copenhagen
The Germans had no time to prepare themselves for what was coming. Our parachutes darkened the skies as we dropped on the city of Copenhagen. The enemy had good equipment, but they were no match for our might. Today was a good day, and we managed to push all our enemies on all fronts. But what will tomorrow bring? This battle is far from over.
War log day 4: In the pocket
The generals decision? No retreat! We were ordered to move forward, the generals clearly had the right idea in mind. As we pushed from the north and south, the Soviet forces scattered quickly and after our fast advances against them, we were able to continue pushing into the German lines. We should not cheer too quickly though. They too have powerful generals, a counter-attack could come at any moment.
War log day 1: War everywhere
The landings in Italy and Turkey had the effect we were hoping for. Zurich was captured without much resistance, allowing us to cut the Soviet lines. They managed to hold on to Bordeaux for a while longer, but without the necessary reinforcements, we slowly gained ground on them. We managed to push the Germans back in the Netherlands, recapturing the city of Rotterdam. However, the Germans are pushing hard in Scotland, putting the city of Edinburgh at risk. Forces of both the Germans and the United States are closing in on Prague. With their supply lines at risk, the Soviets are unlikely to hold it, but who will get there first?
FRANCE IS BURNING! JOIN YOUR FACTION AND FIGHT FOR SUPREMACY!
SOLDIERS!
A NEW BATTLE AWAITS! THE AMERICAN ARMY IS IN DISARRAY! GERMANS FROM THE NORTH, SOVIETS FROM THE SOUTH. WAR IS EVERYWHERE!
ONLY ONE FACTION CAN TAKE CONTROL OVER FRANCE, WHICH ONE WILL IT BE? FIGHT FOR YOUR FACTION NOW!
BATTLE OF DUNKIRK:
The Allied forces are on the retreat! The Germans and Soviets are quickly taking more ground in France. Will the Americans be forced to retreat to Dunkirk and back into England? Or will they be able to push back, and never lose France in the first place?
THE OBJECTIVE:
If you are a U.S. General, use your additional resources wisely, fight against 2 strong enemy forces and gather your soldiers to victory!
If you are a German or Soviet General, strategise with your allies and your troops to defeat the U.S. army!
Each faction has its own advantages and challenges in the war, only one can prevail. Join the battlefield and pick your strategy to decide who will rule Europe!
THE CHALLENGE:
The American forces have two isolated fronts and have very few options to expend. Can they force a breakthrough and push back into Europe?
The Soviets have the most ground to start with, but a lot of ground means a long front line. Will they be able to hold their lines and better yet, expand to control all of Europe?
The Germans too have a very wide front line, there is a lot of ground to defend, will they be able to take further control in Europe?
YOUR REWARD:
For the duration of this event* all soldiers participating in the WAR effort will get the following rewards:
All players who win at least 20 battles during the event will be gifted a special ‘wartorn’ skin
Increased XP multiplier for the War Victory ribbon x10 (only for stats that require war victory)
Increased XP multiplier for the Battle ribbon x3 (only for stats that require battle victory, for both soldiers and commanders)
These rewards are valid for both soldiers (winning battles by combat) and commanders (winning battles by sending ATs).
REMEMBER, THE WAR VICTORY RIBBON UNLOCKS EXTRA COMMAND POINTS FOR COMMANDERS (ABILITY TO DEPLOY MORE ATS) AND THE BATTLE RIBBON UNLOCKS THE ‘CHARISMATIC LEADER’ COMBAT BADGE THAT BOOSTS MORALE ON ASSAULT TEAMS WHEN WORN BY THE COMMANDER.
GET IN WAR BATTLES NOW AND DEFEAT YOUR ENEMIES FOR EXTRA REWARDS!
CONTEST HAS ENDED – WE WILL ANNOUNCE WINNER SHORTLY – STAY TUNED!
NEW FIELD ASSIGNMENT:
SEMI-AUTO RIFLE TARGET PRACTICE
LISTEN UP SOLDIER!
HERE IS YOUR FIELD ASSIGNMENT FOR THE NEXT 72 HRS*:
Using either one of the three starter semi-auto rifles [Gewehr 43, M1 Garand or SVT-40], kill as many individual soldiers (i.e. unique kills) as possible within the time limit, bot kills do not count towards your score, only pvp kills. Kills from all three rifle types count towards your score, so you decide if you switch up your arsenal or stick to one rifle.
THE WINNER WALKS AWAY WITH REAL LIFE FIELD GEAR: HNG BRANDED MESSENGER BAG, HOODIE, CAP, LIGHTER AND KEYCHAIN + HAND OF REDBJARNE HELMET VOUCHER!
You can follow your overall kills with a specific weapon, by clicking your username in the top right corner of the Heroes & Generals flash client, then click the weapon icon that appears in the column on the right marked “stats”. You can also follow your progress by punching in your username in the leaderboards tab and view the “rifles” tab. While neither of these options show unique kills, it will still give you an indication of how well you are doing.

During the Battle of Berlin event, we have been keeping a war log. In this log we described the progression of the event from the German perspective. If you are interested in reading all about it, you can find the log here! War log: Aftermath
Even though the last war is still raging on and the rewards will still have effect for this war, the official event is over. With three victories for the Soviet faction, it is very clear who the winner was during this event. It was not quite the result we were expecting, or hoping for. However it has been a good learning experience for us and we will use that knowledge to make future events even better. One of the things we will make sure to do next time, is announce the event in advance, so everyone has time to get ready for the event.
We really enjoyed holding this event and it was a lot of fun to keep a war log. We of course hope you enjoyed reading, but more importantly playing this event! We are planning more events like this in the future and with some changes, we hope we can make the next event even bigger and better!
Of course we also have some statistics to share!
Let us start off with the players per faction. This is the total amount of individual players that has played at least one battle on a specific faction in the Battle of Berlin event. If a player has participated in several wars, he is still only counted once (unless he joined a different faction). We can see that Germany, with over 40% of the players, had by far the most players in the war.
During the event a total of 1,015,342 assault teams have been either deployed or reinforced. In the image you can see how many assault teams have been deployed per resource type. We combined the assault teams into certain classes, to limit the amount of categories
There have been a total of 21.192 (war) battles during the course of the event The United States has won 6500 battles and lost 5821 battles The Soviet Union has won 7028 battles and lost 6332 battles Germany has won a total of 7664 battles and lost 9038 battles
Next to the amount of total battles won, we also thought it would be interesting to only look at the capital cities. We have counted a total of 117 battles over capital cities. The Soviets took part in 104 of these battles. The Germans participated in 92 battles while the Americans only fought in 38 of these battles. The Soviets also had the best results in these battles, winning more than 60% of them. The Americans broke even, winning as many battles as losing them. While the Germans had the highest loss rate.
Last but not least we have also looked at which capital cities saw the most combat. As was expected, this had to be the city of Berlin. Almost all battles were between the Germans and Soviets on this town, except for 1. In which the Americans participated (and lost). The cities of Istanbul, Edinbourgh, Marseille, Oslo, Zurich and Rome also saw some minor combat, and have been combined into 'other'.
*Note statistics have been taken from the start of the event until 30-4-2019 12:00 CEST
