A machine gun is a very powerful weapon, but it can be tricky to use effectively. Here are five tips on establishing a LMG-Infantry soldier.
1: You might want to bring an extra weapon
The reloading on a machine gun generally takes longer than most other guns. As a back-up plan, think about adding an extra weapon such as a pistol or even a Semi-Automatic rifle in case you run out of ammunition.
2: Don’t spend it all at once
The most effective way to kill your opponent is to not fire all your bullets at once. The machine gun is easier to use when firing small bursts giving you have better control over where your bullets go. A burst of three to five bullets a time can make you very accurate even on medium ranges. Keep in mind that the heavier machine guns can only be used when standing still.
3: Make use of modifications
There are many different modifications available for machine guns. When equipping modifications you should keep in mind what you most want to use your machine gun for – close combat or medium range combat. Try some of the modifications available and find the options that allows you to be the most deadly.
4: Crouch or Prone
The machine gun is a heavy gun and has a lot of sway when used in standing position. Being prone allows you to be most accurate with your machine gun. But short bursts, as described above, can be used in crouch position quite effectively.
5: Make use of Combat Badges
If you are still having problems handling you machine gun have a look at the Tight Grip Combat Badge, it allows you to control your weapon better. Fast reload badge is also worth looking into, speeding up your reload and getting you back into action a little faster. If you have a Veteran Membership you can equip both.

Another RBS challenge has ended! In the RBS challenge ‘High in the sky’ we were looking for the best videos using the new flight mechanics. Dajmkryss kicks off our list with an EPIC fight in the air as he engages two enemy fighters and takes out one of them in style. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ocgM-AY8mk It seems Porthor did not really like the name of this challenge. Rather than going high in the sky, he decided to stay low to the ground. Watch his FUNNY video to see how well the P38 performs on the ground. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28PLOp9wIMk Porthor had a good week and won a second category. In this FAIL video he tries to land his plane, only to find out that anti-vehicle mines work just as well against planes as against any other vehicle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JD-DRf1R0j8

RBS challenge 14: Sub-machine guns
It is time to capture the point! You have waited long enough, now is your moment! You run into the building, and blaze your … bolt-action rifle. You miss and then you die. This time you have come prepared! You run into the building once more and open fire with your semi-auto rifle, you hit an enemy once … second bullet in the arm and … dead once again.
You’re sick of it, no more rifles. This time you’ll take a gun that fits your needs. Again you run into the enemy capture zone and empty your clip. Three enemies lay dead in front of you, as you claim the capture zone for your faction. Sub-machine guns, now that’s the way to clear a building!
In this challenge, we are back on the ground, with as focus ‘sub-machine guns’ The video may last up to three minutes and can be submitted into one of three categories. Have you had a chance to see the six time Oscar nominated movie Hacksaw Ridge yet? We did – and we think it is a pretty cool movie.
Hacksaw Ridge is about the World War 2 experiences of Desmond Doss, who was an American combat medic. The movie is directed by Mel Gibson and stars Andrew Garfield as Doss.
Actually the movie inspired us to introduce medkits into Heroes & Generals – something that has also been a much requested feature by the community. The medkits will be in the upcoming ‘Medic!’-update releasing March 21st.
The medkits will be available for all three factions and all soldier types in the game and enable you to heal both yourself and and your friends in the hellfire of battle – giving you just that extra edge needed to win the battle. We will reveal further details on medkits at a later date.
Exclusive movie and medkit bundle
Obviously Heroes & Generals and Hacksaw Ridge have the fact that both are set in the midst of World War 2 in common. However, there is also a shared dna beyond genre as a central theme to both movie and game is the notion, that one man’s actions and courage can make a difference in the war.
That is why we at Reto-Moto reached out to Lionsgate and Valve to put together an exclusive Steam bundle featuring the Hacksaw Ridge movie, a 14 day Veteran Membership and the Heroes & Generals Medkit & Medic Ribbon Boosters pre order DLC. This bundle is only available on Steam and only to US customers.
If you live outside of US, you can still get a hold of the Heroes & Generals Medkit & Medic Ribbon Boosters DLC as a stand alone Steam pre order DLC. It contains a medkit for one soldier plus 5 x Medic Ribbon Booster.
Please note that the Medkit and Medic Ribbon Booster will be made available to you in-game on March 21st, while the 14 day Veteran Membership will be activated on your first login after purchasing the DLC..

Close Quarter Combat is inevitable in Control Points – here are five tips on creating a Close-Quarter Infantry soldier.
1: Sub-Machine Guns & Assault Rifles are your new best friends
Each type of weapon has unique advantages and disadvantages. The SMG’s and AR’s are most effective at close range while being able to move. With their larger ammo count and their often fast rate of fire they are capable of taking care of an enemy swiftly.
2: Explosives are effective
Explosives can be very effective to use – Grenades can help you clear rooms so you don’t have to engage with your opponent face to face. Also anti-personnel mines allow you to protect your back, they will trigger as soon someone walks over it.
3: Melee Combat can be silent but deadly
If you need a swift approach or don’t want players to know where you are, melee combat will help you out. With little sound they are effective at taking care of your opponent without anyone noticing. Knives, shovel or even the wrench can all be used for a silent kill.
4: You might need some wheels
Fighting in close quarters means you have to get into the combat zone quickly. All vehicles are suited for this, but keep an eye out for Halftracks and Cargo Trucks, which can be used to deploy in, so you’re at the frontline without risking exposure to the opponents between your objective and the opponents objective.
5: Consider using modifications
There are many different types of modifications possible. For a close range infantry it’s recommended to focus on damage and rate of fire. However, be careful, because you’ll sacrifice a lot of precision, stability and range.
