For RBS challenge number 12, it was all about teamwork. Furthermore, with Valentine's day on the way we decided to add a special category. We wanted to see who could create the most ROMANTIC video. BushElito decided to share his love in the first video of this challenge, earning him twp 30-day veteran voucher codes, one for himself and one for a friend. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srSsbq-mEyg Of course we had many other contenders and with three more podium places to go, it's time to move on! What do you do when your plane goes down in the air? You ask Ted.The.Bear for a lift of course! Travelling with Ted.The.Bear does not come free though, it requires taking out one enemy plane. Check out his EPIC video to see if McknownPlayer has earned his lift! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cvlqo5kpRlY Sometimes Ted.The.Bear does not ask you to shoot down a plane for a lift though, every once in a while, giving your life for a lift is allowed as well! Check the video below and see how Ted.The.Bear won his second place on the podium in this FUNNY teamwork video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M11myBW8yrA Every once in a while it might be a better idea to just walk, rather than jump on the back of friendly vehicle. iAmWeiser decided to re-educate his friends by showing them what can happen when you get on board his kübelwagen. Watch his FAIL video below to learn from the mistake of his friends! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utQfZrGL6JI

RBS challenge 13: High in the sky! (planes)
Enemy planes have been sighted in the area. It is your job to take them down! Every plane has been installed with brand new flight controls. Not only should this make your job a lot easier, they even come with several settings!
After jumping in your plane and taking off, you notice how smooth your plane feels. It does exactly what you want, when you want it. Before long you get behind an enemy plane, guns blazing you give him everything you got. But he too seems to have received an upgrade, maneuvering left and right, up and down trying to evade you. Suddenly he turns around and comes right for you! What happens next? Well, we hope you can tell us, or even better, show us in a video.
In this challenge we want to see pilots fly with the new control mechanics , all three settings are of course allowed to be used. That means that for this challenge, only footage from the current build is allowed. The video may last up to three minutes and can be submitted into one of the categories listed below. The Medium and Heavy Fighters each have some unique characteristics. Here are five tips to effectively use them both.
1: Have a go at the Advanced Controls
By default the controls are set to Mouse Mode. Whereever you aim your mouse, your plane will move. Are you looking to do more advanced maneuvers? You can switch to different type of plane controls in the Action Game menu. The classic mode allows you to pull off the most crazy stunts to evade your opponent. But the Classic mode is also the most difficult to master. Build up some flight experience and try out the controls to see what suits you best. More information about the various controls can be found here
2: Maneuverability and Firepower is key
There is a vital difference between the Medium and Heavy Fighters – the firepower and ability to evade your opponent. Both are important to have, but depending on the situation you may want to switch between them. If you need the firepower, the Heavy Fighters are definitely your best choice. If you are looking for a smaller more agile plane, the Medium Fighters may be more suitable for your battle, as they are more nimble. You can also improve the firepower of your plane by upgrading to either Armor Piercing Composite Rigid or High Explosive ammunition. Chose to use Armor Piercing Composite Rigid when engaging vehicles or other planes and High Explosive ammunition for soldiers on the ground.
3: Get to re-supplying ammunition
Usually you are either busy engaged in bombing targets or in dogfighting your way through your opponent. Running low on ammunition? If you empty the ammunition that you don’t need you will automatically start re-supplying. So drop those bombs if you need to get ammunition for a dogfight soon!
4: Pull up! Don’t Crash!
Diving and strafing your opponents can be very helpful for the soldiers on the ground. Keep the speed of the plane in mind though. Your plane will need a significant amount of power and time to recover from a dive, so pull up in time if you don’t want your plane to turn into a large fireball.
5: Evade your opponents
One of the most important factors during dogfighting is speed. Not just your speed but also your opponents speed. Alternate your speed to confuse your opponent and make it hard for them to set the right speed for killing you. Keep in mind that it takes time for your plane to adjust speed, but use it to your advantage to get the better of your opponent.

The skies have become even more dangerous with the release of the new 1.03 update ‘Wings of War’. This update adds new medium and heavy fighter planes as well as new options for flight controls, making it easier to be a pilot.
Flying a plane with the new default controls is basically as easy as aiming the mouse at where you want to go – we call this mouse aim mode. You also have the option of using a camera aim mode as well as classic controls. And you can change how the throttle works, all to suit your individual play style. We know that It takes skills to be a good pilot. That is why we have chosen to add different types of flight control options in the ‘Wings of War’-update making it fun to be a pilot for both new and veteran players.
Meanwhile American pilots get a brand new Curtiss P40N Warhawk Medium Fighter, as their current US P-38 now takes its proper place as a heavy fighter.
New Assault Teams in the war
With the release of the ‘Wings of War’-update all three factions now have a Reconnaissance airplane, a Medium Fighter, and a Heavy Fighter – making a difference in both battles and the war. The new Heavy Fighters (and the upgraded P-38) flies in the Heavy Fighter Squadron assault team. You can now upgrade an assault team from Fighter Recon, to Fighter Squadron and then to Heavy Fighter Squadron. Heavy Fighters uses a separate resource production, just like the other types of planes.
Update to Factory Map
A number of tweaks have been made to the Factory Map to make it safer to deploy without getting attacked instantly. Based on heatmaps and replays of how the map plays, our Level Designer Reto.Desji has also changed some routes through the buildings to improve the flow of the gameplay and make it more fun for both attacker and defender.
New paint jobs for old planes
It is cool to be a great pilot. It is even better when you look good while flying. This is why the three fighter planes, that have seen the most air time in Heroes & Generals, are getting brand new paint jobs and new factory paint jobs. If you already own a Yak-9, Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4 or US P-38 Lightning you will get to keep and use the old factory paint jobs – something that will set you apart as a veteran pilot.
