RBS challenge 12: Valentine's Day (teamwork!)
“Come on, we can take ‘m,” you whisper to your partner, ready to enter a building. He takes a look at his gun, looks up and then nods: ”I’m ready,” he says. You take a deep breath and storm into the building, closely followed by your friend. Guns blazing you fill the area with bullets, and one by one your enemies fall to the ground. Surrounded by blood and corpses you shake the hand of your buddy: ”Couldn’t have done it without you.”
In this challenge we want to see teamwork. We want to see an epic showdown where you and a friendly soldier work together to accomplish a certain task. This could be with one or with several soldiers. All types of teamwork are allowed. You can fly a recon plane together, drive a tank together. Attack an objective with a friend or an entire group, or you can even show teamwork by giving another soldier a lift with your jeep.
For this challenge, you can submit your video into one of three categories:
Most Epic video
Funniest video
Biggest fail video
But we also have a little extra category this challenge:

The Warhawk is a low altitude pursuit fighter. It has one of the fastest dive speeds of its generation of planes. Equipped with an arrangement of six .50 cal (12.7mm) heavy machine guns it is a deadly foe in the hands of a trained pilot. The ability to carry SIX (small) bombs also gives it the ability to support ground forces by taking out enemy tanks and vehicles.
This plane gives the American pilots a plane more equivalent to the German Bf109 and the Soviet Yak-9; a nimble and effective plane.
How do I get one?
In the “1.03 – Wings of War” update this wonderful vehicle will become a part of the ever-expanding arsenal for the US faction! The Warhawk unlocks at the Dog Fight Ribbon grade 5. Please note that the P-38 Lightning now has been moved to Dog Fight Ribbon grade 9 as a Heavy Fighter.
The P40N Warhawk is part of the war as the Medium Fighter Assault Team and counters the German and Soviet Assault Teams fielding Bf109 and Yak9 planes.
Historical Facts
The first Warhawk flew in 1938 and a total of 13,738 was produced during from 1939-1944. A large number of variations were made and many different forces flew the plane throughout the war, the British Commenwealth forces and the Soviet Union called them Kittyhawk and Tomahawk for example. A P40 made the first confirmed kill in the European theater on 14 August 1942, when 2nd Lt Joseph D. Shaffer, of the 33rd Fighter Squadron, intercepted a Focke-Wulf Fw 200C-3 maritime patrol plane that overflew his base at Reykjavík, Iceland. Shaffer damaged the Fw 200, which was finished off by a P-38F Lightning. As recent as 2012 a crashed “Kittyhawk” P40 flown by the Royal Air Force was found in very good condition in the Egyptian desert!

The Pe-3 is a Soviet long range heavy fighter. Its armament consists of a 20mm cannon in the nose, two 12.7mm heavy machine guns under the fuselage, a 7.62mm fixed tail gun, and a dorsal turret with a 12.7mm heavy machine gun. So while an enemy at your six is always a tricky situation for a pilot, the extra machine gun gives you a better chance of shooting him down or at least scare him away. The Pe-3 carries two medium sized bombs giving it an effective punch against enemy ground targets!

Heavy Fighter Squadrons pack more punch than Medium Fighters and Reconnaissance planes and have a greater range on the war map.
Historical Facts
The Pe-3 was introduced in 1941 where it replaced the Pe-2. A total of 360 was produced during WW2. A lot more was to be produced, but the main factory producing the plane had to be evacuated leading to production stopping and being restarted multiple times. The plane was used in the early part of the war, but also took part in the battle of Stalingrad!

The new default setting is “Mouse Mode” – where your move mouse to aim where you want the plane to go, and the plane then tries its best tog go there, how this works is illustrated below. You move the white crosshair and the red aiming reticule shows where the plane is headed.
Camera Mode controls
In the camera mode setting the camera is fixed and you move the camera, and the plane goes where the camera points.
In both Mouse Mode and Camera Mode you can still roll your plane (default keys A & D)
Throttle settings
The two new throttle settings let you control the throttle smoothly or in steps, setting it to fixed values and leaving it there instead of having to hold the key to fly faster or slower that combat speed. Take a look at the video on the top of the page to see this in action!
How about Advanced Controls?
The existing flight control options are still here and can be used if you want to.

Behind every soldier in Heroes & Generals is a dedicated gamer – and we want for you to get to know each other a little better. That is why we invite players to tell a bit about themselves and their experiences on the frontline. Meet Tonton. Not only is he a long time player of Heroes & Generals, he and his girlfriend also took the time to visit us at Reto-Moto when they had a weekend vacation in Copenhagen recently.
What is the story behind your player name?
Tonton means Uncle in french. All of my friends and family have called me Tonton since I was seven years old when I became an uncle for first time.
When did you first start playing Heroes & Generals?
I started to play Heroes & Generals in 2012. I was looking for an interesting WW2 FPS that I could play for free. Since then I have been addicted to the game and the evolution of it.
What is your most memorable moment in Heroes & Generals?
It is difficult to pick only one moment. Maybe the first three ways battles with all factions. But every battle is different and you can have more or less fun anytime.
How many soldiers do you have, and what are your favorite loadouts?
A lot! I have a soldiers of each type with each faction, but my favorite is still the first one I made as US faction. He is my oldest soldier, he is the best equipped and I don’t plan on letting him become a General – he still has some work to do before retiring from the battlefield.
What do you do when not playing Heroes & Generals?
Unfortunately work. I have a job with lot of timetable changes that makes my life a bit busy. Otherwise, I live on sea front of Spain and love to ride my motorbike along the coast.
What are your favorite films, books and music?
Usual Suspects, The Longest Day, Reservoir Dogs. Books would be The Hannibal Collection and Soul, Raggae for the music.
Random fun fact about you?
Even after playing H&G for all these years I’m still a bad player. My girlfriend always get mad at me, seeing me play, because i die often and quickly!
